Richard S. Fuld Jr. CEO of Lehman Brothers: Salary $ 750,000 ,Total compensation:$71.9 millions. Richard S. Fuld Jr. is building a $13 million home on Jupiter Island in Martin County, Florida. Bush and Mc cain gonna help to him with bailout.
CEO's get agolden parachute as they drive thier firm into the ground, and the American people have to pick up the tab. Something is very very wrong with this picture. Nancy Pelosi, sep 29.
Richard Nixon was responsible for the recession that occurred on his watch. Nixon responded with ineffective wage & price controls that worsened the problem.
Nixon also took the dollar off the international gold standard.
President Johnson did not have a recession.
President Kennedy did not have a recession.
Herbert Hoover's policies caused the Great Depression because he deregulated everything from banks to the stock market.
Bush is the reason for this economic struggle. Look up how much it's currently costing the US to war in Iraq and Afghan. Look at how much money is being printed daily. Then look at the low low tax cuts.
It's a recipe for Inflation and disaster. It's bushes fault. Period.
I renamed this guy Jeb Mccain. He talks just like goerge bush. calm and sweet and laid back. he makes my skin crawl. he has voted 19 timnes against minimumwage increase.a dozen times against healthcare for kids. % times against headstart. he was preaching deregulation 2 weeks ago.he is a cammelion and a puppet.
Well actually both Dems and Republicans were responsible...
Richard Nixon was not responsible it was Johnson...
Herbert Hoover did not cause the great depression, he just didnt know how to handle the economy because the Keynesian economy theory was not proposed during his presidency...
I don't think Obama's a better choice. He has no plan actual plan, and no matter what happens, he's made himself out to be a liar. He can only make things worse for our country.
Seriously....Lyndon Johnson did not cause a recession with his greater society and a vietnam war which cost way too much money to keep up with. Really?
The United States had a recession in 1957 under Eisenhower, and the next American recession occured in 1971 under Richard Nixon. America had no recessions between 1958 and 1970, so we had no recession under Lyndon Johnson.
McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Our economy begins to falter each time a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - largest federal deficit! We cannot afford perpetual war. We deserve a change. Vote for Barack Obama.
You seem to know very little about our economy. The fact that a Republican is in office has nothing to do with the slowing of the economy. The majority of the national debt was created from unavoidable costs and ridiculous programs/pollicies put in to place by the democratic congress.
I never said that Deregulation helped. I wasn't even talking about deregulation, because I know that it caused a net loss. However, the useless programs, and wasted money from Demorcatic pollicies are causing more of a loss than anything. We need to change how we spend our money. We also need to get businesses back in America, which wont happen by raising their taxes even higher.
The flip flopper McCain originally opposed the Bush tax cuts. Now he supports tax cuts for billionares. Tax cuts for billionares so they can take more jobs overseas. How disgusting is this party.
McCain stated that the Bush era was a time of "low unemployment" and "low inflation." You know, unemployment and inflation are contradictory to each other in other words if u have high inflation you have low unemployment and low inflation how unemployment according to Milton Friedman, Stinglitz, etc.
McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Look at our economy now. Our economy sucks! Every time our economy tanks, a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - right now! We deserve a change. Vote Barack Obama.
He needs to get his brown nose out of George's butt. Big kissup to Bush, thats for sure. What an idiot. He has no idea what is going on in the economy - he has enough money so why should he care about anyone else?
How did he stumble over economic ideas? He's right: Americans are better off overall than they were eight years ago. It's called "the economy in the long run."
there are some people who are jealous to see Obama victory's cause they don't want change in America they want John McCain to be president to go in Irak in 100 years oh my God how about the economy in 100 years is he crazy the american people must be vote for Obama and you will have a solution for the economy of America
another reminder of how everything as gone to hell,my power bill goes up-my kids pay the price ( freeze ) the gas goes up my kids wont have a roof over their head cause you cant get to work what the fuck do these people expect us to do!?!?????? the cost of food, gas, and yet the CEOS of these same companies get 6 figure pay checks, just makes one sick.....hey how about another billion for Iraq-no problem! Keep America kids safe and healthy-they turn the other way and yet are "antiabortion" WTF!
"My friends, my 9/11 Reagan flag waving gates of hell deficit party hides behind the 9/11 flag while we fear fear fear spend us all into 100 years of Reagan deficit oblivion.
So in closing, thanks again my dear massive debt loving credit card flag waving kool-aid friends and God Bless the you are a great Americans for falling for this sh*t . . . again."
What the frigging hell? Better off overall? Members of my family have lost jobs because entire businesses have shut down. Eggs cost so damned much I'm thinking about buying chickens and gas has doubled in price in six years. Better? Let that asshole come live in my house and he can tell me how much better off we are.
ahh yeah he just contradicted himself..."we are better off now but let's be honest many American's are uncertain about what's going on around them the econony is in bad shape, our country is in crisis." I can't believe I used to vote republicans...these guys are a joke. We need Clinton in office she is a lot smarter than Mccain.
It's funny and painful to watch these guys try to defend the disaster they've helped create over the last several years. McCain lists the symptoms of the disaster and then says we are better off with the disaster than without it. One of these days, the cognitive dissonance will cause McCain's head to explode.
McCain, all i gotta say is stupid idot! I Cant even understand what the stupid diot is saying!

McCain is a fucking idiot, I am so happy that we don't have to put up with this fucking moron for four years.
By the way, this coward is no war hero, research the truth and you will find that he is a Song Bird, a coward, a liar and a piece of shit.
P.S. Palin is a Bimbo and this moron picked her to be one heart beat away from the presidency. What a fucking buffoon!

madehero2007, you seem to know very little about our economy.
Fiscal and monetary policies profoundly affect our economy.
Deregulation invariably creates the conditions for businesses to abuse lack of oversight and engage in risky schemes.
The Great Depression followed the laissez-faire period supported by Hoover and the Supreme Court.
Banking, S&L, and airlines are industries that have imploded after periods of Republican deregulation.
Deregulation does not help investors or workers.
