'your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough'...eh? Anakin was Vader by time Luke was born....zero continuity ....George Lucas ....please stop painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa, are you going to touch up these films every time a new format comes along, its painful
You should have flashbacks at each point when there is a glaring inconsistancy: Leia remembering her mother. Kenobi not knowing that Luke has a sister. When Kenobi says that he was trained by Yoda. etc.
Your added flashbacks really matched up well if Ben's facial expressions. I really liked when Luke asked how his father died, the hesitation on Obi-Wan's face, then the cut to Anakin burning on Mustafar.
Wasn't it so much better when the force was a universal ephemeral energy created by the conciousness of all living beings rather than a symbiotic bacterial infestation. I much prefer the idea of it being mysterious and spiritual instead of a pan-galactic yeast infection. "Use the thrush, Luke."
OOH - pretty revealing detail about 3-P0 requesting to shut down for a while. Probably a droid version of repressed memories, no doubt, and he finds the whole conversation a *bit* uncomfortable.
@MrWolfLeader Incidentally, I was just joking. I don't think C-3PO is a valid subject for memory-based Freudian psycho-analysis. I am fully aware of his having had his memory erased at the end of the third film, and that this is an important part of series continuity.
Of course, if you WANT to be pedantic (which I think you do, given your tone of rather sad, drab one-upmanship) the "droids" (i.e. plural) did NOT have their memories erased. Only C-3PO did. R2 didn't DUHHHHH.
Nice job on the video flashbacks. If you notice, when Luke asks about how his father died, Obi-wan hesitates, then tells him what happened from a different point-of-view. Remember, Luke is just finding out who he is. Telling Luke his father caused the downfall of the Jedi would be too much for him to handle emotionally. He had to grow up first. When Luke does become a Jedi, then he is ready to handle the truth about his father and his lineage in the Jedi order.
I love Obi-Wan's "Oh crap..." look at 2:04. I especially love how the scene cuts immediately to Anakin being teppanyakied afterward. Kind of remind me of one of those Tarantino style flashback.
Awesome video, but should've had the following things [in my opinion]...
Obi-Wan/Ben: "...and a cunning warrior"
[include either Anakin vs Dooku fight]
Obi-Wan/Ben: "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic" [either include the scene where Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are in the conference room or a Jedi Council meeting] "Before the dark times..." [include the scene where Clone Troopers board the ships] "..before the Empire"
[had to split my comment in 2 because I ran out of room]
[either include the scene where Palpatine converts the Republic into the Empire or the scene where Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader are watching the Death Star get built]
I've seen several clips from the sequel trilogy that include prequel scenes as flash backs.
So far they all seem pretty cool, anyway Good job on the video
Good Job... small criticism. Less is more. This video would be top class if the only flashback you used was the one of Anakin burning alive. Still.... good job!
@obiwan122586 It seems that this scene is a bit harder to cut together; also, some points can't be made without the soundtrack, so you'd have to find a way to ease the transitions.

Present Obi-wan: (giving Luke the lightsaber) "A more elegant weapon from a more civilized age."
Past Obi-wan: (throwing away the blaster) "So uncivilized."

why did C-3po lose his memory at the end of the 3rd film? is R2 the only droid out of them to know Luke's Father and the old days?

@Toontown302able Bail (Leia's adoptive father) ordered Captain Antilles to have C-3PO's mind wiped.
Nicksolo85 1 year ago
@Toontown302able That was done in order to cover up a glaring plot inconsistency.

When Ob-Wan was talking about Anakin's lightsaber, you could have shown him picking it up on Mustafar.
