Awesome job. I especially like the fact that you used GIMP to create your artwork. Keep up the great work. I'm going to give INKSCAPE a go. If you haven't heard of it, I would say that it's comparable to Adobe Illustrator just as GIMP is to Photoshop. Thanks for the tutorial. I appreciate you taking the time.
thanks man :) i made the mistake of buying some staples (uk office suplies store) Transparency luckly my girlfriend gave me some sheets hp and it worked wonders. thumbd up for the quick responce
i know it has been asked already but i tryed this to day and the ink set funny on the transparencies, would you have any tips? do i need to change any settings on the printer? or shall i just print it thought twice? thanks for you time
You can buy vellum paper from any arts and crafts store. You can buy single sheets in the section where they sell paper with pre printed boarders for projects.
Try it, it works great on my HP printer. I have a Walmart cheap printer. If the black ink is not blocking all the light put the transparency back in the feed tray and print it twice.
Could it be that you are printing on the wrong side of the transparency? It does not make sense that it works for hundreds or thousands of folks and it will not work for you. You may need to get the correct transparency product at the store.
I have an ink jet printer. Works great for me. She clear sheets I have are almost as limp as paper. I suspect you could even wash printer ink off of clear sheets and reuse them.
Ya get the transparencies at the office supply and print your artwork on them with a printer. I ran them through 2 times to get a deeper black on the transparencies.
This may be a dumb question, but do you just print the art work directly to the transparencies, or is there some way of transfering it from paper to the transparencies?
ditto, I was at a complete loss till I saw this video. After watching another less informative video, I accidently screen printed my cat. But now that I have seen this video, I'll be lurking outside the local Wal-Mart hawking bootleg wrestling shirts in no-time at all!!!

I have this brand....
3M Highland Inkjet Transparency Film
They're old sheets but work well for me. I saw some on Ebay. I think the key is to make sure the film is specifically for inkjet printers.

you can also use vellum paper which is cheaper then using the clear sheets.

Ok, I need a little help please. I have the Gimp software. What size font did you use? Did you go by pixels or inches? Thanks
kekambas79 3 years ago
I don't remember what size font I used. I did print practice sheets on paper to get the size I wanted.
goolsnfc 3 years ago
I thought you could only use a laser printer for the clear sheets.
This is not true?

If you find a picture on the net and its in color, will it be ok to invert the image or is it best to have an image that's black already?
kekambas79 3 years ago
Yeah, the only problem i have is finding the transparent sheets. (acetate sheets?) no seems to carry them in stores...
bma852 3 years ago
No way!! thats the same printer I have, might try this...
