Hi, I heard the S-J version and wrote for permission to arrange the song for children's voices and they graciously said yes. If your great-grandfather was in the Canadian forces/British, you might find him listed in the Virtual Memorial on the Veterans Affairs Canada website. Let me know if you need help. And I'm glad you liked the video. My son helped me make it.
Thanks for this video, I was really looking for a video by Saxon-Jaimes of the song, but this is terrific. Rememberance has become more important to me over the last few years. I never knew anything about my Great Grandfather as none of the family ever spoke of him. My nephew did some research and found that he was killed at the battle of The Somme.
This is a beautiful piece, it's the first time I've heard it. I'll have the honour of marching in this year's remembrance day parade in my city, as I recently joined the reserves. Wearing the same uniform, under the same flag as the fallen is truly an honour. Lest we forget.
Hey, glad you had a chance to view the video. I enjoyed visiting your school yesterday. Now I'm back home and doing the paperwork for the week in Newfoundland schools....ah, business! Have a great weekend! LG
Belgium will never forget those that kept us free. Thank you to all the men and women who fought so hard. To those who gave their lives you will always be remembered. Merci and Dank U
This was beautiful. My grand dad was in in WWI, my dad and mom served in WWII my brother in law served 42 years in the Canadian Air Force and we as a town just lost a beloved young man of 20 in Afghanistan. We must not forget.
So sorry to hear about the death of such a young man in Afghanistan. Every war the soldiers are so young, so full of life and promise. All the more reason for us to remember each and every one who served. Please pass along this video so that many more can hear the song, maybe learn the song for November 11th. Thank you for sharing. LG
