i think it was just that depeche mode was the top selling pioneer of electronic sounds in the early 90's. so maybe its not fair to say that cause and effect copy them but this sounds a lot like something from songs of faith and devotion. just as you think you know her was something out of music for the masses. i still think cause and effect are an accomplished band but i cant help making comparisons. just compare the grassroots 'bella" to the beatles "strawberry fields" same principle.

I've been on the great ride with Depeche Mode since Vince Clarke formed that band and I think they are fantastic. In C&Es music I hear what others do when they compare the guys to Martin Gore and his buddies. But for me, C&E have always stood alone with those great lyrics and beautiful soundscapes. Their music has always effected me on a tremendous, deep, personal level. C&E are the best kept secret in the history of music.
