And as for the nitro motors you just think the intake and exhaust port is open at the same time because it's a two stroke and it doesn't have reeds but your forgetting one thing the crankshaft has a hole in it and when the piston is down past the exhaust vents the hole is closed which acts like Reeds and if you don't believe me take the exhaust header off and put the piston in the down position and try to blow in the carburetor .....you see a lot of people just mock what they hear others say!!
And turbos do work on 2 stroke motors because of the reeds!! Let me put it in dummy terms. The oneway flaps (reeds) now dose it lean out your motor "yes" but that nothing a little extra oil can't fix.... And let me tell yall something stop saying dumb shit like (" the intake and exhaust port is open at the same time ") WRRROOONNG!! its not!! otherwise the engine wont run it would have blow by one side would have to be close to create a vacuum to suck in fule !!!
where & how can i get one ? I run a 7 1/2 hp 29.5cc 2 stroke engine with a twin boost bottle set up in my rc boat ! one of these micro boost turbos would be a mad mod to go with the set up i'm all ready running !!!!!
Two things first @ UGotKilledByACamper nitro is better than electric but in different ways and @ cronsformula350 an intercoller willhelpeven without supercargedbecause the cooler air gets themore condensed it will get meaning there aremore oxygen moleculesin the air so you can add more fuel and get more powere
Have you come up with anything like a wastegate so you can adjust the amount of boost? How are you compensating air/fuel? High speed needle or low speed? Which have you noticed the most power from the turbo or the supercharger? Last question do you make kit specific set ups? I have a Baja 5t and want to set one of these up on there. Please feel free to message me back. I will buy one immediately.
superchargers are way different than turbo chargers. But in 2 stroke applications they both are semi effective. They may require a boost bottle at the intake to "expand" the intake volume and keep pressure, but its possible in theory. Application is another thing....
where can i really buy that stuff, i cant find one website that sells them and micro boost doesnt seem to exist or have a website at all. you should mention turbo and supercharging only works with 4stroke - by design.
@cafeboni Turbos and super chargers do work with two stroke. As an example look up the old CAT engines in buses and trucks which used to be 2 stroke and super charged...
dude were the fuck can i bye one of those i think the guy that made these did a fucking great job n all u d bags that r all salty r just mad cuz u didnt come up with his idea, get a life haters
hey i went online to check how the fan is on these things and i can tell you that their not designed correctly. the blades are straight cut and they need to be more of a helical design. i know tooling and making these are probibly difficult because of size. but it could use a bit more design work, even for the body
why would you put a turbo on a two stroke engine... You just blow air all the way through the engine... Four strokes have no ports where thr boost could escape so it builds up which can't be said for those small guys...
@vai2iant then tell me... broaden my mind ;) the thing is... where are you going to compress the air turbo has made in a 2 stroke? that is why you have resonance exhaust to force back in to the engine unburnt air/fuel mixture... then tell me the way it works... give me some dyno results... anything...
and finally... why dont the guys put on 2 stroke scooters and 2 stroke snow sleds turbos? just tell me why don't they?
they work great 1.5 psi is about 3.5 hp add on to any nitro or gas ,car, boat ,plane the turbo is $146.00 the exhaust turbo is $246.00 intercooler is extra but they are bass ass
@brandonleeashe Turbos do work on two strokes. Look up turbocharged snowmobile they make 400+ hp out of 800cc engines using turbos. And the reason they work is because the turbo causes backpressure forcing the air fuel charge to stay in the bore. As long as the backpressure is equivalent to the boost pressure they run just fine.
Umm-maybe I'm missing something here-but-whats antifreeze going to do in a air cooled engine? Also-how is anything going to build up boost with a blow threw engine? unless these are for some sort of petro engine-please explain!
My main caveat is that the intercoolers are improperly designed. In order for an intercooler to work even halfway decently the inlet and outlet need to be centered and at a ninety degree angler from the bar/plate plane.
In other words they need to be coming straight out the back and centered on the ends.
What about head temperature, and the heat exchange from the turbine side of the compressor itself... It's not of importance on the 4 cycle engines, but 2 cycle engines run a bit hotter, which would limit your power ratio as it would require more fuel to maintain reasonable temperature. The solution is to run a cooler mixture of fuel, of course reduces power output.
It may not seem like an issue until you take into consideration weight and output of these smaller engines. Every little bit helps.
With the RPM of these motors the air will be travelling through the engine so fast it wont have time to be affected by radiant heat. In theory you are correct, in reality it's not a concern.
It's not radiant heat if it's directly transferable. It's direct thermal conductance.
The speed of the air is minuscule considering the actual mass of air in relation to the mass of the turbine and compressor assembly. The air will not dump the heat quick enough. This isn't theory either, and isn't debased from reality. Cooling is a concern with Nitro engines already, Why compound it with an inefficient turbo setup? Why not do it the right way?
Apologies for the heat transfer mistake. But you are wrong on so many levels still. You believe an intercooler works best with 90deg entry, this is wrong. It creates back pressure. You want a smooth airflow both in and out of the cooler, 90deg entry/exit is worse than what they have in these kits.
If cooling is already a concern then adding forced induction will only cause more troubles, intercooled or not. The last of the concerns would be intercooler design.
how do these turbos work? DEcently? Can you show us some cars that they actually put some of these turbos on? U don't need an intercooler, these engines run off detonation, so that won't make a difference. Let us know where some vids of cars with these turbos are, and lets see how they work!
@cronsformula350 well as you can see there have been intercoolers for them made so clearly they can have them.they work like normal turbos(forcing air into the engine due to the turbine being propelled with the exhaust fumes.thats why its needs an intercooler bcoz it gets fuckin hot.
@cronsformula350 I don't think these turbos are used to generate "boost", however they could increase the effeciency of the 2-stoke by helping to force the more of the old charge (burnt fuel) out of the cylinder, hence meaning more volume for a fresh air/fuel charge, and because of the boost from the turbo it can provide the fresh charge quicker. The side effect of this may be that more fuel is wasted down the exhaust, as the exhaust port is higher than the intake port.
Its funny. It can't help the two stroke be more efficient by letting the exhaust breath out. TWO STROKES need half of the exhaust brought back into the motor to make power, they don't need scavenging. Why do you think they have tuned pipes? With a megaphone effect, the pulsing through the first cone, then into basically a stop, sends the exhaust back into the motor, to make power. It seems to me this supercharger thing is bs. It would work on a 4-stroke motor.
@cronsformula350 It doesn't let the exhaust "breath", it means that more of the waste gases are forced out, so you can get more fresh fuel in. The "pressure wave" that you are on about is correct, but the pressure wave doesn't actually include any waste gases. And, becuase a turbo can increase the amount of backpressure, it helps keep the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber anyway.
@cronsformula350 actually if you think about it these rc engines run like any ford/chevy/dodge diesel does and they all have an air to air intercooler so it might actually help
