Best documentary ive ever seen, i use to hate documentarys but this one is something speciall. Third time now im watching it. Love and respect to the guys!
guys, I just got something really deep from this doc: this documentary is actually about how the director feels, how he's been put into a "a cart of darkness" aka his wheelchair. Mind = BLOWN!
Great filmmaking, work of art. I can't imagine being disabled, especially as a snowboarder. You defiantly did something great here Murray, I hope you and the men in this documentary are rewarded for your perseverance.
@wpniabbc They might not be totally homeless, some might even have jobs - they're still part of the community though. I don't think 'scammers' is the right word.
@wpniabbc Well , I can speak for Fergie...I Do know that Fergie is not a scammer . He is very Homeless. I've known him for years. And he is one of the most real people you will ever meet. He's got a heart of Gold.
@SPAMDAGGER22 are you fucking serious? My friend his 130.8kmp/h on a forest highway in canada. his name is Mischo Erban. Search him up. this is nothing for longboarders. That type of highway we cruise on.
@SPAMDAGGER22 Dude, You sound asian... We are not. Search it up on youtube. there are vids of people on a landyachtz evo barefoot overtaking trucks on the highway.
@FANofTFOT Because these homeless men have found some enjoyment in their lives and you seem to be the type of person who would call the cops on them. Wrecking something which is harmless.
@InmyJag Read my initial comment again, I said it was an amazing documentary and that DISLIKING (meaning the opposite of liking) it is a crime. I love this video, what are you talking about?
im glad i got to watch this documentary. The people in the film were great, i wonder very much where they are in life today. It would be awsome if the creator could make another one, like 10 years later showing that they are still rocking the carts!
Im not sure if Murray was thinking of brilliant when he made this film, but thats what he got. The second time I watched this i noticed the subtle things he put in, like the 2 times he showed the spider and its web, while they were drinking. And the broken bottle begin crashed up against the beach by the waves. Ive recomended this movie to everyone to watch as something they all MUST see
The homeless face many stigmas. This film suggests that some however, manage to adapt to their environments and express themselves creatively through their survival strategies, which can be dignified. The shopping cart as a symbol of mass consumption, the supposed culmination of production and labour, is turned on its head into a vehicle for minimalist survival.
This was amazing, thank you for an awesome documentary. I feel that i have gotten more respect now for the homeless. It is like you said in the documentary, you don't know their story how they got there.
ive known most of the ``bums`` in this video, growin up skating seylynn they would come up and talk with me.Ive always considered them as friends not bums since they would talked to a little tyke like me haha.suuch a sick documentary!
This is truly inspiring, i have gained a new found respect for the homeless, they are remarkable, simple people.. i look forward to another documentary from Murray Siple
weeell, god damn good music. that old fellow should make millions as a singer...hehe and put all his money in nerve repair research to fix Murray ....going to work 9 to 5 must be hilarious, driving by this guys...
good thing these guys are canadian and get fixed up when they crash. I live in Lynn Valley and have seen the guy in the video going down mountain highway before. insane!
@FergusonProductions4 : I havent seen Fergie in a couple years ..but My husband and I are very good freinds with him. We ask about him every chance we get. And it wasnt to long ago that we asked someone we know about him. And he was still alive and kicking. :)
I have seen the video about 3 weeks ago. Gosh, it stays in your mind! It's a great and true work! A work which follows fascinating lives without being a voyeur or striping the people shown. Wow, congratulations for a touching work!
Man!!! you are amazing!!! trully inspirational!!!!! I cant remember how i found this video,, well movie actually,, But Once I started watching it I found myself unable to stop. Keep making movies man your awsome truly awsome. i dont know there names but dude with the red hair is CRAZY!!! IN A GOOD WAY. And the older guy is really cool too id sit and drink a bottle with him anyday
Nicely done. Enjoyed it thoroughly. It struck me ironic that Murray has overcome bigger obstacles than his subjects, yet he was honoring them with this beautiful documentary.
Garbage. Offensive. Romaticizing homelessness. This is what socialist governments do instead of deal with the problem. Send people like Fergie into the ocean, and send the man from the tent who went to prison to the basement that Fergie was wasting.
Typical. The old drunk gets a pension and wastes it on crack and that young red headed guy, who's merciless family cast him out gets nothing. Give him the basement allow him to make something of his life.
These guys sleep under bridges and travel 70 km/h down the road without brakes. Just because they are happy and have few working hours doesn't mean they found some zen-like balance and lead perfect lives. Sure, this documentary was eye-opening and helped me to view the homeless in a better light, but IMHO the people saying they've got it all figured out really need to think a bit longer. No house, no family, no computer or TV; if you want to lead a life of minimalism, there's better options.
Thank you for shedding light on this subject for me. I am on of those people who turned a blind eye. But now, I feel just a little more closer to these people. Enough to not just automatically assume that they are the scum of the race.
