SO good to hear this band again. We used to listen to this LP (recorded on tape)all the time in 1989. I was in the army at that time and that tape was a just as permanent a pice of equipment as my rifle was :-) Happy peace times though.
Takes me back to when i was 20, working in TOWER records, Bayswater London when i first heard this, Eclectic album, some things just get better with age, you ain't going to get artists this this with the present IDOL programs churning out (Mostly Rubbish)musical drones year after year
i first heard the sundays when i was waiting at a bus stop on baker street london , and blaring out of a car window was a brilliant tune,i can't remember what song it was but i searched it out and it was the sundays:)
The song sticks in my head from my friendship with someone that didn't quite bloom into a relationship. Beautiful, ethereal, poignant. Gets me every time I hear it years later. The band was one of the best at the time.
my fav song in reading, writing & arithmetic.... i've fallen for her when i was still in college... i almost didn't graduate frm college because i didn't care much about the world anymore... just her voice, her band, her poetry. Man, she's divine.
This music is such a gem. I liken it to The Smiths sound with a beautiful and talented female lead singer. No offense to Moz, because I think he is a God, but the Sundays gave me the best of both worlds and filled the void left when the Smiths made their early exit from music...
Loved them. And thanx for bringing up Belly and the Muses, i so love Tanya Donelly, she and Kristen hirsch (stepsisters at that) really did it for me. But back to sunadays, harriet was my fave back then, thanx for posting. Now i listen to Innocence Mission (the american Sundays).
there were so many good bands around at this time with female leads, belly, throwing muses, the breeders, st.ettiene, madder rose...but the sundays were a bit special...saw them in dec 92 at Hull uni, asked harriet wheeler to marry me...she didn't
I think the Sundays are one of the most interesting and most forgotten bands around. They did some really excellent stuff....but you would never know it now...thanks for posting this.
My fave. Guitar, vocals are beyond superb! Oh! I forgot about the studio production! Very nice!

a lot of their stuff makes me that way (in a good way though). I think I wore out their first 2 CD's listening so much :p

I did...the cds truly became corrupted from being played to much. I'm on my third set (since 1992, that's a lot).
