The democratic, socialist organisations that came to be during the revolution. Before they were corrupted, before Russia became a state with a totalitarian regime, in wich the oppression was even worse then during the reign of the tsars.

And let's see, during Stalin's reign died around 13 mln from different reasons (war, starvation, work camps), in Holocaust around 6 mln Jews. So it is not right to call Soviets better. However it is also not right to call Third Reich better.

The original soviets were democratically organised communities in wich everything was shared equally (How communism was originally intended to be). What was called the Soviet Union later on was a form of state-capitalism, in wich the state was competing as a corporation. It's different from the free-market capitalism in the west, but it's capitalism no matter how it was called.
