  • @xes4844 tanks man

  • @skate204

This is not from The Band`s "Last Waltz" album. It must be from a bootleg album from "The big money tour" in 1972 (Bob Dylan with The Band).

Not souless moronic rappers or dead behind the eyes false teen idols am not going to let my kids listen to that horrendous shit if bob dylan was a young artist today we'd never have heard of him all forms of popular music have now been nutured to send out the corporate politically correct mesage

  • @generalgilroy Theres tons of new musicians that are amazing and original... unfortunately none of it is popular..and hard to find.

  • This is a classic example of how and why a people can come to accept almost ANYTHING as worthy of their attention and even their support. Pure dreck.

  • @19babyjack55

    it's great rock music

  • @19babyjack55 Two greatest rock song writers of the 20th century. Don't take my word for it, look it up. Not great performance but it's pretty cool to hear them together. Sorry you can't dig it.

  • Ahhhh, my summers in Baysville Ontario - exactly!

  • Much better than the lame coked-out version on "The Last Waltz"

  • THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL, FOR REAL, AIN'T NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT. ALL THOSE RAP PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN WHAT REAL MUSIC & ROCK IS. THIS IS IT !!!

  • Leaves us helpless, knockin' on heaven's door.

  • Do caralho!

  • Knock Knock Knockin' on the Dragon's Door! ;-)

  • @mgouker Long live the Dragon!!!

  • Neil Young is royalty I bow down to him. He inspired me to learn guitar and mouth organ at 16 I am now 52 and can still play his early music all night. Thank you Mr Young

  • @spooks27 I'm with ya ... I learned harp and git at 13 listening to Bob and Neil .. I'm now 53 and play in an acoustic trio ... with " knockin" and " needle" on the playlist... I'm never without my git and still play everyday.. it keeps me sane... thanks guys

  • @spooks27 Hey spooks I did the exact same thing! Started at 16 an I am 52! strange . Neil is my hero. Been playin pro for 30 some yrs, thanks to Neil!!!

  • fantastic

  • Even though I can't understand him entirely, Bob sounds fu#$%in' awesome!!!

  • Thank You Neil

  • @mrfailford There's definitely hope for you, son. Can't say that much for your peers that put you down for listening to this awesome, awesome music.

  • こんな演奏、初めて聴いた、なんか凄い。

  • Two of the very best....awesome stuff....thanks....

  • Two of the very best!

  • Once upon a time Zimmy heard a guy on the radio playing harp and guitar in a voice like his and said "who is this guy"? Stealing his thunder! LOL! Two of the best harpers in the biz and great to see them together! Again thanks people for all the humorous human comments, my sides hurt! HAHAHAHA!

  • Two of my favorite people of all time...

  • bang bang the mystic man delvin deep doing what he can graspa bislly

  • Can't believe I did not have enough $ to go into this concert -- but > it was not bad outside the walls of the stadium either -- sounded about like this stream .. they had a great sound system

  • @SuperJohnnyv Neil is Canadian, buddy. And John Lennon was a complete ass, a great musician for sure, but a complete ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperJohnnyv that must be an awesome world ~!

  • No words, only feelings running around my brain.

    HippyDream

  • Neil Young doesn't need to knock on heaven's door ... he just came from there !

  • Dylan is a genious , Young not far behind, individuals in their own right , God not needed surples to requirements.

  • original mash up

  • Almost in tears listening to this, but for all the right reasons. This is REAL music.

  • helpless is one of my favorite songs, and it got better!!!

  • What a combination those two were...thanks for posting

  • Danko rocks!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow

  • Both guys are legend and the songs too, thank you boys

  • And they are beautiful.

  • dylan is a child of the pain, young is the prophet of the river, together they are children of a god we dare not speak it's name.

  • two kings

  • One thing to think about for all music lovers- this was 1972. Just 13 years after 22-year old Buddy Holly was tragically killed. Holly would have been an elder statesman to the 3 future icons on this old clip, and at only 35 years old surely would have appeared with younger musicans from time to time. They all revered him, too. In fact, it's well known that Dylan saw Buddy play in Minnesota just a couple of days before the plane crash took Holly's life.

  • 3244gorilla, you forgot to mention the, in my opinion, 3 top American-born bands ( in NO particular order by any stretch of the imagination (1) Lynyrd Skynyrd, who was such a better band than commercial radio would lead you to believe (2) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and (3) the quintessential American band, the good ol' Grateful Dead.

  • nice idea - wasn't anyone's best night playing though.....

  • There will always be young people who listen to "new music". There will always be old farts (like me) who will bitch, moan, and complain that today's music sucks compared to the music of "my generation". So as it was, so as it shall ever be.

  • @dajesusblues Yes,but in this case, the old farts like us are right.

  • Boonskee: If ya' have 2 LOOK 4 good music today, that - in and of itself - speaks volumes. In (55-76), it was PERVASIVE. There's sum good stuff now (Radiohead, Beck) - Beck's "Volcano" would be revered in my day -but where's the prollific excellence of Beatles, Floyd, Stones, Dylan, Hendrix, Doors, Zepplin, Young, Steely Dan, Marley, Walsh, ZZ Top, Allman Bro's., King Crimson, Robert Fripp, both Elvis', Simon & Garfunkel, Joplin, ETFCKNGCETERA?

  • im like one of the only teens to listen to this "crap"

god this shit is so good

this type of stuff is the natural high. its jjust amazing

  • @mrfailford u are not alone ;)

  • @mrfailford The only one? I don't think so mate!

  • @mrfailford - GOOD FOR YOU KID - you stay RIGHT here - THIS IS FUCKIN' MUSIC.

  • @mrfailford Natural high!! so true!!

  • @mrfailford no your not! there's always comments on here saying "im only a foetus and i love this....", age doesn't have anything to do with preference and realisation of brilliance. i'm 17 by the way!

  • @mrfailford i know EXACTLY what you mean. and when people that call this 'shit' listen to shit like LMFAO or dubstep, its the most frusturating thing in the world...

  • what is destiny?! If Young and dylan had been born in 1903, they probably would have haded the 60´s and 70´s but still would´ve been writers. I don´t know. just a thought. Anyway, I´m glad they popped up when and where they did. I enjoy every note. thanks for posting...

  • i used to say i wish i could live back then. i am not the biggest fan of todays music, but me being a music fiend and other stuff, responsibly, make the best of it and ive had some good memories from some good times im just saying unless a time machine comes around what else you goin to do?...and as a teenager i was a "one genre" type haha if he could see me now.

  • That guitar is not as out of tune as Kieth Richard's was in Seattle in 72.

  • Knock, Knock, Knocking on a Dragon's Door!

  • It's stuff like this that makes me happy to be old. I got to know music this powerful in it's time. Memories are what are lives are made of. I am superbly lucky to have memories like this as the foundation of a life...for better or worse.

  • bob n neil wow beautiful times.

  • superb version...thanks bud for this posting just relax enjoy your draw dude

  • upps i meant 1999 XD

  • and at first bob was on the piano and neil on guitar and then they exchanged, but it is unnoticeable, RIP Rick Danko 1942/1949

  • Rick Danko is also there... you should have that in you'r title

  • Absolutely amazing

  • 同じだ。

  • mnogo volim ovo C dur D dur A mol G dur that's my life

  • I was here......still makes me weep.

  • tons of musicians should feel helpless when they hear this ... and be glad to knock on heaven's doors listening

  • Rick Danko there too. Robbie Robertson and Levon Helm as well?

  • sheez... talk about about some rough looking dudes. looks like they're all coming down hard from that trip they started back in the tour bus.... ahhh, and the wheels weren't turning.

  • Sounds like Rick Danko is in this too, one of the most underrated musicians in rock and roll!!

  • .☮.¸¸.(¯`♥♪(♥♫(♥♪(♥♫d(♥‿☮)b♫♥)♪♥)♫♥)♪♥´¯).¸¸.☮.

  • 6 people shit their pants after falling dead on to their key boards....inadvertently hitting the "dislike" thumb button

  • @micka59ification I don't believe they are looser than anyone: they are losers though

  • Knocking on a dragons door?

Whatre they sayin on the chrous??

  • @Sublime99skill I think it's trailor door or traitors door. They'd have to be pretty high to say dragon lol.

  • ...refers to "chasing the dragon", obviously you're not a heroin smoker.

  • sorry f@#king Awsome

  • just 2 words f@#king Awsime

  • I've always wanted to hear these together, since they're the same chord progression.

  • WOW! I was at this concert! It was a fund raiser for bay area schools put together by Bill Graham and dubbed SNACK: Students Need Athletics, Culture, and Kicks. What a show ......

  • Shivers when I hear Rick . Greatest Rock and Roll singer of all time . Just one mans opinion. It Makes No Difference is my favourite song of all time .

  • Rick Danko is delivered from another galaxy as a gift to us

  • this is not Dylan singing.

    am I wrong?

  • What key are they playing in? I've been trying to figure it out. From what i remember, helpless is originally in D and Knocking on heavens door is in G. So F seems like a logical choice.

  • @riseagan There's a key change halfway through. I think it would be cool if they played them in the same key, though...and then had a harmonica duel.

  • @telecasterman081095 You are correct, I noticed the Key change after I had posted that comment. I agree though, that would have been incredible. Bob and Neil are easily two of my favourite harp players.

  • I love that transition from one song to the other and without a break. Seamless! And sounds great. Although.... Dragon's door? What the hell Bob.

  • sheeze, neil's looked better, terrible lol

  • they dont make music like this anymore i am 68 and still love it gilly

  • @gillfordc you are absolutely right. It seems as if the young people have missed something we really got in the sixties and seventies, the real music.

  • @laulimor I feel so bad for the kids today

  • @laulimor Nah theres hundreds of good bands. Maybe the young people you know are just misinformed. Anything on the radio is trash but if you truly appreciate music you'll find the good stuff. Music today is more original and diverse then it's ever been. You just have to look.

  • Everyone knows these two songs and performers. Just great. Seeing a photo of them together is beautiful. Strange though, Neil with a Fender and Bob with a Gibson.

  • c est trop bon..

  • me think's that bobby&neil were lent that les&tele, on site. - why'd you leave us,Rick.

  • the photo looked gd but alas someones nicked the vid

  • this is what I call real music! I´m just 16 years old and wish I was this in the 70th!

  • @magda95lena NEVER wish to be older,,,:-) I used too as well,, enjoy the time you live in and make the best of it. some time you will look at 19 year old as kids and be like WOW ,,, but you can still enjoy music from all ages anyway that is the great thing

  • ...bringing back the feeling of the 70th to my mind... and to my soul...thank you...

  • God, thanks for a moment of hearing this

    That`s amazing

  • Canadian power...greetings from a 57 year young Seattle-lite......

  • more then 30 years and still goin strong!

  • Knocking on heavens door was written by Bob. Part of the soundtrack of "Pat Garret and Billy the Kid"

  • when they lay ol DJ low, I hope bob and neil are there to sing me down....

  • Helpless was written by Neil when he discovered while locked in a toilet stall that there was no TP.

Knockin' on Heaven's Door was written by Dylan who really had to go bad.

  • you know what is more wonderful and amazing than bob dylan and neil young?, they playing together *.*

  • Knock-knock-knocking on the dragon's door! I love this

  • i've never heard this before.....my ears are having an orgasm....

  • should have been better than this

  • LOVE SEE VID OF THIS!!

  • wish we could really turn back the clock to this period ........Neil & BoB topped disco anyway...

  • HO-LEEEEEEEE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~E

  • Great 5

  • c 'est sur quel album ?

  • @POPAVIDEO Helpless was written by Neil Young when he was with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; it's on the album Deja Vu . Forever Young was written by Dylan and is on Planet Waves.

  • that was at the SNACK concert in sf's kezar stadiun on 3/23/75...i was there

  • @pieman420

hi man you are really lucky living that great times

  • @pieman420 Man I wish I lived back then...Todays music is crap, my generation is shit. I'm 15 years old and I feel bad now that everyone dresses like prettyboy faggots and listens to this gay ass new music and wear all these fancy colored clothes and you have to live in this time...Do you miss living back then? lucky you lived back then in those times :)

  • @LUCKYJ3SS3: Lucky (heh) for you plenty of the great music from the '60s and '70s was widely recorded and has been seeping out of tape vaults into the digital realm, and continues to do so at a great pace. As you did here, find it and play it because it's just as good now as it was then.

  • @LUCKYJ3SS3 -- I miss it every day. I was about your age when this happened. It was glorious. There were also bands who sucked, but there were oh ...so, SO, many more who shined like the sun. The gods stepped down from Olympus for a generation. I feel privileged to have been young then. Rock on, young man.

  • @dezcrawford lucky i hate my generations music with all this "shawty shawty let me f**k you" crap and all this party rock bullshit

  • @LUCKYJ3SS3 Hey being a pretty boy fag doesn't keep me from loving Neil as the greatest musician that's ever lived. And I know he wouldn't like you talking about other people that way so be cool dude.

  • @PizzaArtisan... Reagan was the governor of CA in '72 (and ALWAYS an actor)

  • bob dylan / the best ! j.s

  • where'd you get this picture of Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Rick Danko? Is it possible for you to send me this picture? I'll leave you my e-mail in your inbox if that's okay

  • @JoshSigurdsonMusic Same here! I admire Rick Danko!

  • cool combination young and dylan

  • knockin on a dragons door

  • lol eaither you were lazy or to stoned to rethink

  • What a great couple of tunes by two great artistes. The dragons door ,well that sums it up around then

  • dragon's door? Neil's on LSD. reagan's door? reagan was an actor still in 72 lol eat it up folks

  • This must have been part of the memorable Rolling Thunder Review tour where Bob had so many musician friends along singing songs of their own.Tour regulars included Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell,Ramblin' Jack Elliot,Bob Niuwirth,Roger McGuinn,Mick Ronson,Ronee Blakely,T Bone Burnett..

Bob invited local musicians to join in too when playing their towns.Ronnie Hawkins&Gordon Lightfoot did RTR Toronto sets.Bob intro-ed Gord calling Lighfoot: "one of my favourite songwriters in the world".

  • @Bobjb999 nope it was during tour with bob dylan +the band called "the big money tour" which both bob n the band both badly needed. i have a vinyl album with these two songs on it, neil young never sang on the rolling thunder tour. believe it -djw

  • danko rocks

  • The older I get the more I love live music. I wish they played more on the radio.

  • @dabosedabose I always play a lot on my radio show, Greg's Grooves--streaming @ WVLP.org--Thursday @ 7/c. Rebroadcast Sundays @ Noon/c. Check it out.
