anyone wanna help? i have a still air hova bator and dont plan on getting a fan or an auto turner. ill turn them myself about 3 times a day. im probably getting around 10-12 how many do you think will survive? the incubator has a little area to fill with water and i will be keeping it at a steady 100 degrees F.
@URAbunnylover2 We don't measure humidity. We weigh the eggs. They should lose about 14% of their weight. We will post a video soon showing what we do.
@rwhtv my eggs are in the incubator now actually. i have 13 and candled them all today. (its day 4 today) I can see veins!!! all 13 are fertile!! i am actually very lucky. the place i bought my eggs from said that their fertility rate is about 80%. but all of mine are fertile!! and alive!! And i made the incubator myself
@URAbunnylover2 That is fantastic. Congratulations! I posted 2 videos about humidity tonight. I hope you find them helpful. They are titled "How to check humidity using egg weight #1 and #2".
@rwhtv thnks for the videos!! they really helped. im trying to make it very humid (about 65%) but i think the air cell is a little big for a 4 day old egg. they are incubating at 99.5 degrees. they are Khaki Campbell ducks.
@URAbunnylover2 anyone please help. it was a muscove? duck, that took up residence in my back yard. i use to feed her bread everyday. after eating she always went under my shed. about 4 days ago she died. and left 12 eggs. i know nothing about ducks but i am trying to do the right thing. i bought a reptile light (red) and have it about 3 feet away from them the thermometer says 100 degrees. what should i do? anybody please help
please help me... well, i'm just new in duck raising... my ducks laid 10 eggs, I would like to ask if I should get them and put them on the incubator? or should I let the mother duck do the job of hatching? please respond... thanks
If the mother duck will sit on them and she is safe from predators, let her. She will do a better job than an incubator. If she won't sit on them, then you need to put them in an incubator.
never clean the ducks it blocks the eggs pors and they will die
