What I would like to know is WHEN the Hebrew language came about? Was it in existence in Abraham's family's time in northern Mesopotamia or did it come about later on, in the time of the exile in Egypt?

Ancient Hebrew remains alive because of the Bible. It is studied, and Biblical scholars are proficient in it. It may not be a modern language in common use; nevertheless it lives.

so is latin and ancient greek and aramaic also used for the bible. But italians dont understand latin, the greeks of today dont understand ancient greek (they can read it like we can read latin but understanding is something else). Arabs can't understand aramaic. The english of today can't even understand medieval english.
