  • I made one for myself and it came out tight... i suppose i have tight stitches.... To make it bigger, can i just add a couple increasing rounds?

  • Marvelous !

    You are a Teacher !

I am learning another amazing art - CROCHET !

    Many thanks

    Zelia

  • very helpful. I have been working on this ear flap and now i know two different ways to make them. I especially like that you made an adult size hat. Wonderful.

  • A M A Z I N G! This is the best tutorial I have seen, ever!

Congratulations! I am stupid, but you just made me learn!

    Thank you :)

  • I finally broke down and made an ear flap beanie. Thanks for this tutorial.

  • is there a pattern for a thomas the tank engine beanie?

  • i did this hat in red for my friend. can you do it without the flaps or does it matter? it's going to be for a boy.

  • Very good and helpful video.

  • @1958DeeDot Thank you for the feedback :) Greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • @DzCrochetCreations You are welcome.

  • I love this! I am now hooked on crocheting in the round!

I've been trying to make a beanie instead of a slouch hat for weeks! Woot!!!

I want to make more! Awesome!

  • @poetspice So happy I could help ;) I would love to see some photos of your finished Beanies!!! :)

  • @DzCrochetCreations

I posted them in my video. I am not sure how to connect a picture to a yt page. Or can you? EEK

  • I self taught myself how to do this with your tutorial and decided to make these as gifts (with a few embellishments of course!). My first 3 came out perfect. The 4th one came out like a beret and the 5th one had a weird, flat shape to it...is there a difference in the yarns? I used 100% acrylic on all, but different colors and brands.

  • @siulasmto Some brands although say they are the same ply seem to be flimsy like for example the Caron Simply Soft. If you switch yarn to a more softer feel or you seem to be crocheting lose I would just go down in hook size and that may help as well :)

  • Wanderful video for beginers, very helpfull and explanation it' s clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much for this titorial, you are awesome teacher.

  • @kliinsman Thank you so much. It is greatly appreciated! :)

  • Love the video.Your yarn looks so soft. Can you tell me what ply and brand?

    Thanks!

  • @pvaughndesigns I am using red heart super saver and it is a 4-ply yarn.

  • Wow I just made this beanie turned it upside down took the ear flaps and sewed on a button and made the cutest basket. My sister is going to love it. I put a bowl in the hat part. Thank you for this tutorial.

  • @saber1960 I would love to see a photo of that! It sounds very adorable, great job on your creativity!!! :)

  • can you please do some videos showing how to do the individual stitches, slowly please? If you have one already, could you send me the video link please?

  • @BornPhenomenon Yes I will def do some! :)

  • That is a great idea to use a bobby pin as a stitch marker.

  • @jjassy81 cheap, quick and easy! ;) Thank you :)

  • @DzCrochetCreations I love using bobby pins. You can remove with one hand and keep stitching. Get video.

  • It took me a full day, because I kept messing up with the earflaps, but it was really easy, and only my second hat completed! Thank you so much, I must have watched this video 10 X through before I ever started! LOL Very easy to follow :O)

  • @nanaof4babies Your so welcome! Thank you :) Im happy to hear it was easy!!

  • I tried to make this hat for a 3 year-old, so I used a size H hook and dropped 1 increase, but the hat turned out very, very small (although I do crochet tightly). It barely fit my 16 month-old. If I would have followed the pattern exactly and just used a size H hook, would it have been the correct size for a small child?

  • @GingieLover Yes it should have fit properly doing it this way. I am sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I hope you have had success with it!

  • Hey D, when doing a childs size should we drop the hook size and stop decreasing at which round? Thanks

  • @MzCrochetDreams No I would just use a smaller hook :)

  • Is there a place you can buy crochet hook grippers?

  • @kclark2100 Yes, I have seen them at Hobby Lobby, and I believe Michaels carry's them as well.

  • thank you so much D! I was wondering if you could show us how to make and attach a braided tie? Thanks

  • @rebs64 How to make a Braid and attach to Crochet Hat or Cap Go to @tjw1963 Crochet Geek. SO VERY VERY simple

  • @CAPSandNOOSES Thanks!!

  • I love your totorials and I love the hat, can you show how you would crochet a brim on a hat?

  • Really enjoy your videos and this tutorial was right on time for me!!! I would love to see a tutorial on how you add the braiding to the ear flaps. You seem like such an awesome mom and you have such a great personality...GOD BLESS!!!

  • The beenie looks great! I am a "Beaver" Leader in the Scouts Canada organization and thinking I would try to make a "Beaver" version for all our youth for Christmas. Hmmm...any ideas how to form a Beaver Shape tail to hang down the back of the neck?

  • @Unseenwings Heidi @heidishowto offers wonderful crochet patterns, she has a cute beaver pattern for sale on her esty site Snappy Tots.

  • Really enjoy your tutorials. Thanks so much for sharing these with us. Hugs xxx Eva
