He's really a transcendent songwriter, in a simple intuitive unique fashion. His concerts are quite weak, and lack the spark you might think such songwriter might hold. I Think we would all be impressed with covers of his music, though almost none can be found

Vancouver has Said the Whale I suppose, but i cant think of much else. Until recently i didnt think of Calgary as somewhere that great music comes out of but there are actually some great bands. Check out Woodpigeon and The Dudes also.
