I agree addictions (smoking, alcohol, drugs...) are bad, but the addictions and obsessions inside your head hurt way more and screw you up way more than anything else.
Actually, I did have my personal share of experience with substance abuse, which isn't something I'm proud of. I feel very sad for all the people who have a substance abuse problem, because even though I've managed to resolve mine, I have lost a person very close and dear to me to drugs. So, I do, in fact, know the horrors of physical addictions.
However, I'm not sure if you have had any experience with severe psychological issues, but those are far more difficult to get rid of.
@xlxAngeLxlx Oh trust me, I have my share of deep psychological issues. However (this is my opinion at least) nothing really can compare to finding out that your sister has been prostituting herself to pay for heroin and watching her waste away when you've tried everything to help her.

When I was younger my dad was an alcoholic, I begged for him to give up, and he told me he'll try but its hard. I thought to myself, whats so hard about it? You just stop drinking.. now I'm older, this song has helped me understand. It must've been so hard for him, but I'm so proud of him because he's been sober for nearly 2 years. So yeah. I broke up with the guy a year ago, and I'm still not completely over. I still remember how hard it was to just to keep him out of my life. He was everything to me. EVERYTHING. But he was so toxic and he destroyed me when he kept hurting me and betraying me.
Life goes on and I feel so much stronger now.

I agree addictions (smoking, alcohol, drugs...) are bad, but the addictions and obsessions inside your head hurt way more and screw you up way more than anything else.

Actually, I did have my personal share of experience with substance abuse, which isn't something I'm proud of. I feel very sad for all the people who have a substance abuse problem, because even though I've managed to resolve mine, I have lost a person very close and dear to me to drugs. So, I do, in fact, know the horrors of physical addictions.
However, I'm not sure if you have had any experience with severe psychological issues, but those are far more difficult to get rid of.

@xlxAngeLxlx Oh trust me, I have my share of deep psychological issues. However (this is my opinion at least) nothing really can compare to finding out that your sister has been prostituting herself to pay for heroin and watching her waste away when you've tried everything to help her.

When I was younger my dad was an alcoholic, I begged for him to give up, and he told me he'll try but its hard. I thought to myself, whats so hard about it? You just stop drinking.. now I'm older, this song has helped me understand. It must've been so hard for him, but I'm so proud of him because he's been sober for nearly 2 years. I love my dad so much<3

@DarlinggChloe exactly. my mom is an alcoholic and a smoker. she smoked when she was pregnant with me. i tell her to stop at least five times a week. she says she tried a lot but nothing works. but i know she just needs help. im glad your dad was able to stop putting the poison(alcohol) in him. :)
