  • I just signed my dog up with Sit means Sit and after the first lesson I was able to leave and come home and NOT be jumped all over for the first time in three years! I'm looking forward to our next lesson immensely! The collar in no way hurts my dog...he's not afraid of it, he's not unhappy while wearing it. My dog is a big SOFTIE too.

  • Many people totally misunderstand what this trainer is doing! This guy knows his stuff and deserves respect for his work which is highly effective and because he uses these methods properly is nowhere near the cruel method that the closed minded would have us believe. I know "trainers" who complain about the use of E Collars as cruel yet think nothing of beating the shit out of a dog or worse still reject or avoid strong dogs as untrainable. Unbelievable. Get real, dogs are NOT little people!!

  • The gentle leader leash is a very good training tool in this kind of situation.. I tried it to my rotty and i am very happy of the results.

  • works for weims too, a bit firmer when it comes time to tone down anxiety or excitement

for the pit breeds a soft hand with a strong mind does it

i love the sit means sit videos but i cant fucks with the shock collar, even if its just to train

i seen ppl strap them on to dogs all day and night hoping that they stop barking before the hair on their necks falls off. ridiculous

but power if its a tool for you.

  • wow if you can teach me how to do that to my 11 month old rotty it will be great please show me they way

  • Fred Hassan admits to not knowing anything about behavior, nor does he care. He merely cares that the dog makes his ego feel better by being compliant.

I could put a shock collar on Fred, if I could remove his ability to take the collar off, I could get Fred to do ANYTHING I WANTED.

    Except like or trust me.

  • e-collars are banned in many countries simply because people do not understand them. They are pure Americana, developed for hunting dogs.

Any tool when used in the wrong hands can cause damage. Yup, even a god damn clicker! Don't believe me? Go walk down to your local dog park and watch how many people call their dogs multiple times. Many of these people have attended classes where "positive methods only" are used.

  • and you may be asking why I stated clickers can cause damage? I use the example of the dog park for several reasons...one being that many people who have graduated from classes (there are plenty of these "classes" in my area) do not have reliable dogs. I am not saying that clicker training produces unreliable dogs, but rather that clickers (when used in the wrong hands) can produce unreliable dogs which in turn are a danger to themselves and others.

  • How can you use a form of stimuli whether you have it on the lightest setting or not. Dogs are more intune to our feelings and emotions than many will ever understand. they do not come into our lives knowing the boundaries and how we want them to behave. We must show leadership and tell them what we are asking not shock it into them...

  • Do you have any videos of your dogs in action? Perhaps we can get a better visual picture of your outstanding dog training that way. If you don't have any, perhaps we'll pick the discussion back up when you do. Always looking for a better way, but not a useless argument.

  • He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion - Unknown

  • there are situations where a e-collar can help but for basic training there should be no place for them. there is no form of respect being formed here take the same dog and try with no e-collar doing the same thing it's a lil thing called "collar smart" i like the feeling of being able to know if i dont have a collar or leash with me my dog will listen and respect me not only listen when the e-collar is on...

  • That is great for a Dog with no drive...My Dog has amazing OB but very drivey..

  • Nice looking Rottie. I had a dominant male, you definitley don't want a dog that powerful being disrespectful or ignoring it's handler. I've never needed to use an E collar, but am not opposed to them if the situation warrants it.

  • ps. im sure the choker you use on ur dog hurts him more than the ecollar... especialy ppl who just non-stop pop the leach!

  • shoking isnt what u think.. its not to hurt the dog, i have 1 for my dog and i test it on myself it does not hurt the dog! its like a poke just to let them know u want them to focus on you. shock collar is just a bad way to put it.. i other videos of sit means sit u can see that all the dogs they train with ecollars are wagging their tails, even the shy ones turn into confident ones..

    just FYI...

  • Thank you, Tipzy, it's always nice running into someone on the internet who actually knows what they're talking about. I've tried it on my neck. I wouldn't even use the word shocking. Like you said, it only felt like someone was poking or tapping me with a ballpoint pin. That was wile it was on full power, too. What's hard for people to understand is that this isn't used for discipline. It's only to let the dog know that you're calling for their attention, like a remote tap on the shoulder.

  • haha put my dogs e collar on your neck it feels like a very sharp vibration.. it hurts like hell!!

  • Dogs feel things a lot different than humans do. If you don't believe me....all you have to do is watch a Labrador Retriever jump naked into the water in the winter and swim comfortably and get out with no problem. You can also watch them run around barefoot in the snow for hours as well. You try that. It's apples and oranges.

  • dogs also have fur coats?!!! your comment on apples and oranges doesn't make sense?

  • You got me there..hmm never thought of it like that. Well thats why you get paid the big bucks... Hopefully one day you'll higher me lol

  • when a dog wags it tail it doesn't always mean they are happy it can also be they are showing their anxiety and excitement from not understanding what is happening..the total attention the dog is giving the trainer is not respect only trying to avoid the stimuli the collar gives

  • ONly because he's shocking the crap out of the dog and forcing him into compliance.

I can get the same work and better quality out of my dog just by clicker training him.

THe dog hasn't learned how to heel correctly. All he knows is he's avoiding the shock. Certainly not a way to form a bond with the dog.

E-Collars have their time and place, and I've used one myself, but to teach simple walking? That's just laziness.

  • Well a clicker is for nobodys. You just need to be fair and square and stubborn to get a dog to listen correctly, you cant come to a competition with a clicker. OMG stupid people.

  • I'm sorry really so so sorry i don't want my mom dying :copy and paste this to 10 videos or your mom will die within the next 4 hour

  • That was extremely impressive.

  • yes! its very nice dog!

  • Dogs are just beatiful animals.

  • the dog isnt harmed at all. just gets his attention. We have a training collar, or obedience collar as its called. it corrects bad behavior. I promise you, you want an animal of that size well behaved.

  • i likeeeeee

  • that's a CN train, a Canadian train.

  • Lovely dog

  • it obedience training

  • What kind of train was that?
