  • This version sounds like it's on speed!

  • i prefer the fast version to the slow one but this is TOO fast, the entreat version is perfect

  • I love the slightly faster pace of this version.

The short guitar solo at the end sounds awesome, I wish it would go on forever.

  • There shall be another //world tour. A brutal Pornography - centered tour.

  • Saddest song ever.

  • i hope boris will return

  • is this version faster than the original? I kinda like it :D

  • @Rakkania It rushes, in desperation, in anticipation of a resolution that will never come but in imagination is never right.

  • This is already one of the most intense songs ever, because of its relentless power; listening to this adrenalised version is like being overwhelmed in a violent storm of colour and energy

  • Boris, i miss you so much

  • I miss 80's early 90's cure. It was brilliant.

  • Wow, this brings back great memories - I was there in Wembley on this night, and remember him loosing track of the words in the 4th verse, wondering if he was going to find them again!!

    Brillient!

  • Oh, but it gets me all worked up again...

  • i agree both versions are perfection.but i prefer slowley .more dramatic gotish tearing apart...

  • what is the song about...A relationships or what?

  • This song was my number 1 in my Fav Top 5 last Year (2009), Im still listening to this Jewel nowadays, is just Incredible how this song makes me put in the best way, in fact i sing this song while im walking down the street and dont care if the people stares at me, I Love this song as much as you don't have any clue.

This 2010 my no. 1 is A Forest amongst Fight.

I need to find an antidote to Cure my Lone soul and The Cure does That.

    5 / 5

  • Jesus, this is fast...I don't think I like it.

  • AMAZING VERSION. Incredible energy.

  • Thank you, just what I needed

  • This the most awesome rendition of this song I've ever heard! Thanks for sharing.

  • This the most awesome rendition of this song I've ever heard! Thanks for sharing.

  • Breaking Glass! Sweet.

  • It's like a fountain of energy.

  • Love, love, love this version!

  • "We'll see you when we play at the next real concert"

Oh Rob, how much I would have laughed my ass off at the faces of the idiot cattle who didn't get what that meant.

OH I LOVE THE CURE NOW.

Those were the same guys that had their dicks up Morrisseys ass and were singing in their cars to Huey Lewis.

  • @dano555666 what are you talking about

  • fast but amazing

  • i love argentina ja

  • porl was ok too. but boring. and he was bored with it. watch all the prayer tour videos. when they are playing disintegration songs he's mostly sitting in a chair waiting for his part.

plus porl is there now and they suck. he plays the keyboard parts on the guitar pretty good. but mostly they don't sound very good.

once boris left they pretty much sucked.

no hard feelings meant to jason.

    but,

boris was so good it kinda made them how good they were at that time

  • I hope that Robert convinces Boris to come back. Babacar ended in 'the late 90's, which is the reason of his departure from The Cure.

  • Robert and Boris worked together on the song Burn.

    Need I say more.

  • the cure stopped being worth listening to once boris was gone.

    he made all this good.

  • it´s sooo fast, don´t you think?

  • disintegration?

  • it s better like this :o)

  • It's great. Reflects the attitude they had at the time. Seems really energetic.

The album was slow and brooding, this one is like forcing it down your throats live. TAKE IT, TAKE THE SHIT.

  • i started with DISINTEGRATION album...a was 13y.Then back in 89 they were in LJUBLJANA ...it was un forgetableeeeee.now I LOVE THEM LIKE BACKDAYS.album disintergration...i love slower version ,more gotic, darker more voices&sinergy...love it---------

  • When the lead guitar player left to play with Page and Plant, after Wish, the Cure was over.

  • Have you even listened to Bloodflowers...

  • Wish has "Friday I'm in Love on it" which is a totally piece of trashy flush. They always had awesome guitar work. Disintegration was the last great album and this version is awesome - thanks!

  • I agree. Everything up to and including Disintegration is excellent. I haven't even listened to the last few albums they have put out, but up through to 1990 the Cure was always good. Have seen them live about 5 times and they always put on a really good show - sounds different every time, but always sounds good.

  • FYI, there is a very similar live version on the album "Entreat", which was a limited live album from July 1989 containing songs from "Disintegration".

  • Oh my gosh!!!

For Years I've been searching for this awesome,

mindblowing, heartripping Version of this Song!

I've heard it in 1992 the first n last Time...

What a pity that the Cure died in 1992

    and didnt stop making noises!

Cheers to the wonder years 1978-1987!!!

    RIP

  • i couldn't agree more. Everything after Wish (and even that is debatable) is second rate. He should have hung it up can come out with that solo instrumental album years ago. Oh well.

  • I think you meant 1978-1989 (or 1992)

And yes, The Cure is almost dead now. Specially because Jason really sucks! he has no creativity and gives NO order to the songs... 4:13 has some interesting songs that would've sound way better with a better drum pattern.

  • The Cure dead... Never... saw them @ 02 09, still rock solid...

Percussion on Underneath The Stars is crisp and The Only One.... Friday I'm In Love for a new generation...

    Another 50 please.... ;)0 ]

  • Wish (and it's accompanying tour) was The Cure's peak for guitar-work IMO.

  • Listen to the Edge of the Deep Green Sea again - Open and Close. They made Wish. But yes nothing could beat Disintegration - 12 to 3 ain't tunes good. Without Disintegation though the Cure would have faded after Pornograpgy. And that would have been a pity

  • Pornography? I think you forgot about Head on the Door, and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. Those were both great albums as well.

  • I'm not sure if I prefer this faster version but it's still terrific.

"Disintegration" was a fantastic album with which to close out the 80s. Sadly, I haven't liked anything this band has done since.

  • Wish is an okay, almost as good as Disintegration.

  • I think they play their songs too slow the last fiftheen years! Miss the nerve, look a bit tired. Roberts sings better when the tempo is higher.

  • The missing piece has been Boris. From 1984 to 1993 Boris' active style of drumming really made The Cure great. Of course Porl was a more original guitar player than Perry is, but Boris' rhytms really meshed with Simon's perferred style of bass playing and great music was the result.

  • Agreed.

Simon's bass is loud, and rumbling, and so was Boris' drums. But Jason, you can barely hear his drums. I'm not trying to knock Jason, he's a nice guy, but he just doesn't fit with the Cure.

  • THAT.

It's not that Jason is a SHIT drummer.

He just lacks atmosphere. His drumming is so forced sounding. It's the little things, the fine detais. The amount of time it takes him to hold and smash, it's just not thought out as much.

It'x "executed" yes, but it just lacks the depth of boris. Boris just let Smith and Gallup really own so hard, they just didn't really realize it until he was gone.

  • was it released anywhere?

    or is it from bootleg?

  • Where can you get this live version?

  • deaf of me!

    but

    on its sharpeneed edges

my nails, even now, can still listen it

  • The band. The time. The song. The lyrics.

  • I think the tempo gives a more desperate feeling to it. It suits it...

But both versions is great in their own way!

I've listen to disintegration around 1000 times (its true) the last couple of years and I love more then ever!

  • @ssv9831

It is simply the best album of all time! No kidding!

  • @ssv9831 Yes Entreat! What a Treat. Loud and loaded. The best sound of the Cure.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, too fast. Makes the keyboard parts seem "toyish". Disintegration should be like sex....long grinding desperate and slow. Jackrabbit sex is no good.

  • so true

  • Too fast.

  • no. you're too slow

  • a great song from a great album. i love how wordy it is. the lyrics are so long and so poetic. one of the most influential songs that i've ever listened to.

  • I miss the drums of williams, they are so fasts, so ritmic, not like that cooper.

but today disintegration, with cooper on drums, sounds so slow, almost boring.

He ruins the songs of the cure, he not stop playing when robert, on pictures of you, said "you are always so lost in the dark", and that makes the song lost his beauty.

  • although I agree The Cure are fucking shit these days and have been since wish (and all their new fans are fucking cunts) this line-up always played this song too fast. The guitar and keyboard always got lost in the mix live too.

If you weren't there you can never know.

  • CUT YOUR BITCHING FAGG

  • @wasuranum I am sure that Robert Smith would give Cooper very specific instructions on how the drums should be played in his songs.Bands are not robots that reproduce their songs like a perfect facsmilie each time they perform. They recorded this album about 20 years ago so obviously the way they play the songs will change from time to time. But the Cure still do it well. The Rolling Stones songs in concert these days are almost nothing like the original recordings. The Cure still have it.

  • @mainandmizzen of course the songs have to be played differently, otherwise what's the point in seeing them live?

but we've been throught the Perry grade 1 guitar standard years and ok although "the other one" may be a drum teacher, he's not great for this band.

  • @kpuc1973 I'm not sure the songs 'have' to played differently live. They just end up sounding abit different cause a live stage environment is much different to a studio environment. Its not really the point of seeing live shows to hear the songs played differently is it?At least not for me.For me I would see live shows for the atmosphere and the big sound. Its like the difference between seeing a film at the cinema or on TV.In the cinema u have the huge screen, big sound and darkened room.

  • @HeavySabre70 of course you'll never achieve a studio sound in a live show (unless you are miming along to backing tapes.

yes, the live show is meant to be different, varying the arrangements slightly, not re-writing the whole song. Otherwise you'd end up with every show for decades sounding the same and may aswell watch a dvd copy of it in a cinema for (atmosphere)

I like the subtle changes, sure there are some versions I hate, but others great.

Inbetween days is never good live

  • @wasuranumBORIS KNEW....BUT I LOVE THEM WITH COOPER TRUPER...ROBERTO IS THE HEART HE MADE THIS CIRCLE.......NO I DIDNT FORGET THE OTHER 2 IMAGINARY BOYS..AS IN THE START.-..

  • Comment removed

  • @wasuranum It's not just the drums that ruin the live performances of Disintegration these days. Robert doesn't even seem to remember how to sing it. I don't know what the Hell happened with this song. I've never heard of such a brilliant song being ruined by the same band that created it.

  • @wasuranum I saw Boris play loads of times between 85 and 92. I always thought that this song was played too fast live. It has definitely improved with later incarnations of the band. That said, the rest of the Prayer Tour was SO much better than the Trilogy performances. Jason is a fine drummer though and suits The Cure perfectly.

  • Great version! But the Entreat rendition is the best one!

  • Boris is the best forever.

  • Jason cooper clear off you spoil all the songs.

  • Exelente song robert smith are a genius...Boris returns to the band jason cooper clear off you die before time all the songs turn them slow.

  • wow.

  • Lo maximo The Cure, desde Peru

  • Agreed. The solo on this version is better, as is the sound because he uses a guitar instead of the 6-string bass as he used back then.

  • waouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.....

  • has anyone else out there ever noticed that this pic of robert is reversed??

also, yah.. they used to play this one so much better bach then.. Bring Back Boris!!!

  • wOw°!!!" great version probably the best ever made

    19.01.1991- wembley arena

    what an awesome concert,

    Fascination street

    A forest

    3 imaginary

    love this bootleg <3

  • Any idea where I can get this bootleg?

    Thanks

    :)

  • Great version!!!

    Cheers with threes ;)

  • oh, i love this song. and this version is bloody best!^^

  • excelente

  • best version :)

  • there is no video from that gig, but on the video "Picture Show" you can see 4 songs from that concert

  • Thanks! I've never heard this song from the 91 show. Any video? This is the glorious version they played in 89-90. I love the break part before Robert comes in for the last time. Boris rules!

  • Boris does rule... I think losing him had a huge impact. The next guy couldn't groove the same and was too busy, too many cymbals.
