I didn't know garvin was called Mr. Knoxville. I saw him wrestle at a high school in Maysville, KY.

Ronnie Garvin was also the first wrestler to beat Andre the Giant. Not a lot of fans know that. There is a tape of it. But Andre didn't want the pinfall to be filmed. So, you never see the pinfall. What you see is Garvin beating the hell out of Andre. This put Garvin over as a bad ass heel in the SECW area. The Stomper was the top heel, with Garvin a close second.

Garvin lost a loser leaves town match against Bob Orton Jr. and returned wearing a mask and as a babyface...Garvin and Tony Charles were tag team champions and Garvin turned on him and turned heel and began teaming with the guy who made him leave town...They were a fantastic tag team and one of the better heel teams around...I would LOVE to see some more late 70's SECW from knoxville films...Great memories...Thanks for posting this!
