have some appreciation for the greatest decade in music, just because it sounds techno does not mean it is considered 80s. there were many other sounds that define the 80s. like thrash metal, progressive metal, rock, post-punk, punk, alternative, etc. the 80s was not limited to just techno and pop. nor does it make it weird.

oh man my bad. i thought u were dissing the 80s in addition to Ash hahaha. yeah it's different, but i think it's an appropriate sound for Ash now because of how much their music has changed. there is a big difference from 94 to 2007, but no matter how they sound, it is freakin sick!!!
