There was a glitch in this game where one could fight the trolls forever if one uses just the mage and cast Whirling Dover. They can never catch your mage and he picks up great exp. but he has to retreat in the end. Don't bring your army.

I remember playing this when i was about 10. Wow i spent days and days trying to beat that game. I was too young to know that that game was about a 8.5-9 on a difficulty scale.

I still own the Warhammer and Warhammer 40K games up to DoW II, which I didn't like. So I have this game, Dark Omen, Chaos Gate, Final Liberation, Space Hulk, and on and on!!!!

I loved this game back in the days, one of the few games I played through. I played Dark Omen through as well but I liked Horned Rat better, maybe because it was the first I had played.

It's not a great game compared to todays standard, but I really enjoyed this back in the day. Great game, and it was as some people already have mentioned, challenging, but when you made it through a level you were so excited.

god, this game was so freaking hard. i remember this one level where this huge number of regiments was coming for you... and i was almost out of money, so i had just archers, a cannon and the grudgebringer cavalry... but i did it, thanks to luck with the canon

I loved this game, but I quit out of frustration. The controls were awkward, the AI fiendishly efficient and always possessed of stronger forces, and any losses that you, the player, take become increasingly difficult to replace. I salute your effort, though.

Thanks for this video. One of my all time favorite games and I actually completed it even though it was famed for it's hardness lol. I knew a few tricks to get me through battles. The wind wall spell is a life saver, get your elven archers behind it ;) btw the sound on this vid was very low, could hardly hear ya.

Yeah, it was one heck of a fight to the finish. I loved this game. Was i the only kid who mashed the heck out of the top button (arm) and cycling unit-to-unit doing that? lol, i think i remember somewhere awhile after playing that game, that it did pretty much nothing. but hey, whether or not it did anything, it sure made the battles much more intense for me. fight on!

Lol you were using charge to early if you use it on the right time your squads change formation making square around the enemy so the enemy squads are in the middle of the square.

Also when using calvery when the enemy squads are few feet away click behind enemy squad to walk and use charge that way horses will kick enemy all around the place instead of automatic charge which only charges near the enemy and then attacks normal.

Warhammer, much Skavens and Dwarfs, superior gameplay and nice plot. Games novadays are no match for this :D
