  • Great tune - roll down those windows people !!!!

  • I was in high school when this came out. Brings back memories. I think it captured the spirit of the end of the Iron Curtain, the Berlin wall coming down and the collapse of the U.S.S.R. . The celebratory air of the reunification of Germany.

  • FUCKIN CLASSIC BABY!

  • 90's was an incredible decade for music. Much of today's over produced music is complete shite.

  • what god opens no one can shut. what god shuts no one can open. who can change this. NO.1 PAULR O BE R TLO R ENCE

  • OMG I found this after all these years ....I LOVE THIS SONG >>>>YEAH

  • Funny how things come around again.

"I saw the decade in, waiting for the world to change in the blink of an eye. And, if anything, then there's your sign of the times". These lyrics have always stuck with me, and now we find ourselves in turbulent times again, with the Arab Spring, the global financial crisis, the Japanese tsunami, etc. And I'd argue that we're pumping out some great tunes again this time around. Keep it up!

  • @CaldwellNiall what tunes? i don't see that on tv or the radio so much.

  • You were there, I was somewhere else. There's no doubt there's a melancholy feel to this song. It's even evident in the lyrics. The opening line!

  • Wow...this is great. I tried a couple of other links to this song - this is by far the best quality. I remember this song always gave me a feeling that there was a really accessible power out there - and when listening to this I felt that power. Kinda strange - songs effect me but not usually is this way. Thanks!

  • at the blink of an eye!!!

  • Medeski, Martin and Wood are the best. I love the way the bass weaves around the drums and keyboard on chubb subb (friday afternoon in the universe)

  • This reminds me of better times....

  • Pretty damn awesome, yup. Shared!

  • FAMILY GUY BROUGHT ME HERE

  • Who cares what its about? just listen to the music :)

  • Listen to Born of A Broken man by Rage Against the Machine. HUGE resemblance.

  • This is retarded. Jesus Jones were the boy band of Grebo.

  • Love it.♥♥♥

  • Shit, dbbmyrs, it's spelled "acoustics", not "accoustics"!! Yes, it's 'accounting' but 'acoustics'. 'Accordion' and 'according to' but 'acoustical'.......has the quality of our educational system really sunk into the toilet to such an extent????

  • @Marcus81776 lol ouch! As a musician, it bugs the shit out of me too.. but.. it's probably a hard word to spell when you're 12 and don't use firefox.

  • Still glistening in 2011.

  • This song vaguely reminds me of the group Swirl 360. This was back when I sometimes bought those quaint "compact discs" from Wal-Mart, along with scrunchies and pogs, and played corny pop songs on my stereo. I had no computer then of my own. What a world.

  • accoustics are great!

  • this song sucks ass

  • @markkalady don't worry. It's just because you're 4. You'll grow out of it.

  • @harrybythesea i'll clear that with him when i get there

  • @harrybythesea never, i'll leave that for the idiots of this world

  • is that bryan adams singing?

  • 1991 free concert by Jesus Jones one Saturday morning at a club south of Market one Saturday morning.. just moved to SF awesome time in history (and my life too, if I can humbly say so) After all, the Berlin wall fell down and ...

  • 3 people were right there, right then.

  • I Love this song! No disrespect intended but the song is just a drug head say the same over and over just about. You can relate it to what ever you like. The truth is none of us will wake up. Were just going to keep going around and around doing almost the same shit all over. Without war what would happen to peace?

  • This song is about the dawning of the age of E.

  • @robertnwmn It's the fall of the Berlin Wall. It's about the freedom of Eastern Europe. It's about the liberation of half of the civilized world.

It's about the greatest event of the last 65 years, the end of Communism.

  • literally one of the most unappreciated songs ever sang.

  • I miss the 90s. Hands down the best decade for music. Even, I contend, better than the 60's.

  • watching the world wake up from History! Brilliant words

  • ALL HAIL THE 90'S! BEST DECADE FOR MUSIC PERIOD! punk and metal had a bastard and called it grunge, alternative was actually alt and flying high, hippie shit still going strong, rap figured out how to make good music, rave flowered techno and put it in our ears, bluegrass!, george clintonts voice not fried yet from hitting broken stems, MMW resurrected jazz from the dead... It didnt matter what you were into you really couldnt go wrong!

  • @melodsys Wrong. The late '90's began this era of crappy bubble gum music of manfrucated music. The early '90's was a continued period of great music of the '80's. IMO the best period in modern pop music history is between 1970-'85. The influence of motown, start of modern rock, Rap and dance/disco/techno.

  • @melodsys sorry that was the 80s. nice try though

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork sorry that's bullshit. nice try though.

  • @T31CH732zorz what is bullshit? hardcore punk rock, post punk, synth, electro, modern rock(new wave), alternative, etc. ended the shitty stadium hippie rock of the 70s.

    case closed

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork

You are an angry little man.

  • @keithcozz hahaha i just exposed you as being tiny little bitch girl.

know your role fag. you were wrong.

    Ummmm...No. This song was 1991. Dumb-ass.

  • @keithcozz <------DUMB FUCK,

The first single of right here right now came out in 89' on some rare releases. The single came out in 1990 as well. 91 was the ALBUM, DUMB FUCKING IDIOT.

Btw I watched the right here right now on night tracks back in january of 90. it was all about the 80s.

    case closed.

  • @keithcozz you're right. zero doubt. single release in 1991

  • @melodsys is this a joke? you just named the worst genres of all time. the 80s fucking housed the 90s. case closed

    Nothing more to say...

  • Fuck political bullshit, just enjoy the music!

    TBG.

  • Wonderful things you find on youtube, it´s been ages since i heard this!

  • i still have my original 12" doubt on vinyl, i dont think that im ever going to part with it. A true album of a generation, written on the thesis of optimism, hope and progress, a masterpiece.

  • Hope this stays here.

  • Why DO they look to be shrinking

  • great song! reminds me of the 90's friends and lovers! rock on!

  • I remember being in a club back in the day, and the dj put on a pretty good remix of this tune. Most remixes were crap back then; just shit loads of handclaps added in.

  • you're weak

  • bennygfunk to say this is some "spiritual" song is bunk.

it's a song about the falling of the Berlin Wall.

  • When I was in high school, we had two German exchange students. One day I asked one of them why she never talked to the other German, she said because He was from the East Side. This was in 1999.

  • @BuffaloWings99 I cant believe that!! We had two German exchange students at my school and they wouldnt speak to each other, when i asked one why she wouldnt talk to the other one she said '' because he fucked my Alsatian!''

    Small world eh?

  • ErikTheBigKMan isn't really correct.

The song is more about the end of the Cold War rather than the end of communism.

We thought history was over in 1991.

    We were full of shit.

  • By the end of communism, I was speaking of its end in Europe, since it still exists in China and Vietnam and to a perverse extent in North Korea (and having been there and seen it, one can only hope that North Korea can shed itself of the Kims). The Cold War itself can be said to continue despite Bush '42 signing it into the ash-heap of history, because the Koreas are still separated, but I agree with you that any thought that History was over and that America was the definition of the future.

  • Cool! Nice moments :)

  • wonderful song, it is really super cool!!!!!!

love it wonderful music thank you hun

a zillion stars for cheering me up babe

    jade

  • This is how i feel. always. so do the people who have done their homework and know what is to come.

  • I'm tripping cause it seems like those windows are shrinking

  • Damn good track, I was 10 years old when it was a super hit.

  • Oh my gosh...I was just randomly adding Jesus Jones songs to a playlist (I'm just getting into them, I'm only 13) without listening to them, and THEY SING THIS??? I had absolutely no idea! Wow....I guess this was my learning experience for the day...I can't believe they aren't more famous when EVERYONE knows this song. Silly me.

  • anyone able to upload the B side to this called MOVE ME - a lost JJ classic - prob myu fave of theres - theres also one called 'DAMN GOOD AT THIS' which is top too.

  • haven't heard one comment on here that talks about what this song is all about...

this song has a spiritual meaning to it, meaning to wake up and be where you are, which is now...

live each day but actually 'live' each day... be present and be in the moment... one of the only songs i've ever come across which talk about this, being in the present moment...

  • Actually, the song is about being in the moment of the fall of the Berlin Wall, not just about being in the moment. They wrote this to commemorate the end of communism and the birth of a new tomorrow.

  • lived through this one, it was a worldwide hit

  • I love this song, I just wish there was more to it. It goes by too fast.

  • Esta cancion nos gustaba con mi primo que en paz descanse te amo "ALEX" Algun dia te boy a alcansar...............!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song, this is when music actually involved vocal talent and instruments.

  • @agenthelios if that is a criticism on hiphop music, then I am afraid you don't know shit.

  • @agenthelios i wouldn't call this "vocal talent"

  • Great Song Love it....The 90's Rule

  • Enjoyed this song very very much. Who cares about anything else.

  • i love this song!!!

  • Actually, not a gay song you commie, at it's time it was very apt

  • so?

  • this song is one of the songs that remind me of my highschool days. I was the late 1900's generation, like Alanis Moresette era. This song is early 1900 but well, still in the same century.

  • I take it you mean 90's and not 1900's?!

otherwise we'd all be blowin on a flugelhorn

and be in black n white! :)

  • awesome song !!

  • If you're trying to seem intelligent, you should at least spell "guinea" right.

  • This cut has a slightly different sound than, and is about 30s shorter than, the original on CD (NA release). Where does this version come from?

  • Do you think he went to hell because of his name?

  • do you think you went to hell because of your name?

  • Jesus Jones isn't a single artist; it's the name of the band.

  • It was a semi-magical time. Not like the Beatles, Dave Clark Five, or the Rolling Stones of the '60's, but somewhat magical. You had to be there. Nirvana was a spin off of these times that briefly brought Roger Waters and David Gilmore back together.

  • wouldn't really tie this in w gen x. nirvana's nevermind was a little later.

  • or . . . maybe it's .. like.. "ya know" ..like you can hear the crumbling of the Wall in Berlin??

This is a song about the end of the Cold War.

Am I the oldest person here? +++++++

  • great song, it takes me back.

  • Great song~!!!

  • Love this song... Reminds me of getting into trouble in the 90's.. This could be re-released now - and do very well

  • LOL!! Ditto..I was thinking of trouble in the in the 90's too!! :)

  • I went to see JJ at Newcastle Uni back in the early 90's and they were awsome. Shame they have dropped off the radar as they are one of the better bands from that time.

  • It's like you can actually HEAR Generation X awakening!! Great song, far too short.

  • I thought the whole point of Generation X was lounging in bed & having a bit of a whinge?

  • Do you know if "whinge" shares etymology w/ the word "winjer" as the tech/electronica band Underworld titled one of their songs? ...Obscure question so answer only according to your convenience.

  • No tristero - whinge just means complaining pointlessly about nothing in particular. As much as I love The Smiths, Morrisey enjoyed a bit of a whinge now and then. It's compensated for by Johnny Marr's magical guitarness, however.

  • Exactly..exactly..I just came to hear it again~~~

    sign me X :).

  • classic ... yea... reminds me of the freedom and naivety of the late 80s, early 90s... gee, be good to go back, just for a day ! Good times.

  • Thanks for the song. The jerks on Warner Music pulled the other video for this.

    Big Brother apparently is watching...

I am sure the money they are making for such marketing coups (destroying FREE marketing) must be enourmous. Good job Warner.

  • I just heard this song today when I was at a Subway filling out a job application. Thank You.
