VB "Visitors Beer" twice as much sugar and 1/2 again on the salt when it was mixed at Cascade brewery for the local market. I went off it after seeing that. ;-)

It's the brew from the lower half of the barrel. That's what gives it the bitter yeasty flavour. Pretty muh where the majority of the salt and sugar rest so yeah.
