There are silver skulls and gold you have to find the silver skull first in- order to find the golden skulls.

There are a few simple guidelines to get the skulls: you have to play a level on either Normal, Heroic or Legendary !FROM THE BEGINNING!! You can't just use one of the alternative spawns the game offers, you have to play every level from the beginning on. Luckily enough, lots of skulls are in the beginning of levels though so don't worry.

No, I think you still have to complete the level though, what I did is I beat the game on legendary then I just went back to the level with the skull, got it, saved, then quit.

if any one is having trouble getting the skulls. . . he missed the very first one where the phantom drops off in the level sierra 117 its on a rock to the right of the phantom and if anyone can't get the IWHBYD skull start from the beginning on HEROIC and when you kill the brutes, prophet, and the flood go through the rings in this order 4 6 5 4 5 3 4 the rings will light up and it will be on the holagraphic bridge leading to the prophet. and for the catch DONT KILL THE WRAITHS+PLAY ON HEROIC TM

To those who have failed to receive Hayabusa Armor after getting all skulls shown in this video, heres a tip... He missed the game's very first skull, it's located after the first enemy Phanton drops off grunts and a brute or two. Simply go right from their landing location and it is located on a rock near the water. If you can't find it, add my GamerTag - MicronMaster. Hope I helped! :)

you have to go straight for the skull without killing any of the tanks. You kill a tank and the skull disappears.

hmmm... well it might not be x. But... if you look underneath where it says the name of the mission it will say something like campaign options I think, and it will tell you what button to push. And its not on the main screen, its on the campaign screen.
