There are definitely great emulators/emulations for Game Boy, N64, or whatever platform you may want to play it on.

If youre really serious about it and want to have the full experience (and also wave goodbye to any social life you may have), Id recommend getting the emulator 'Visual Boy Advance' and get one of the first two game pairings (one of either Red/Blue or Gold/Silver; although I think every online Pokemon emulation is 'ESA protected'.. you might be breaking some laws in doing so.. =O)
