Typically hideous new R-R front end, and the profile view of the A pillar looks terrible, with all of that overhang (to keep comb-overs in place, I presume). In 1998, Volkswagen paid $380 million for Rolls-Royce, at the same time that they bought Bentley and Lamborghini. They contracted BMW to make the engines. That was the arrangement until 2003, when BMW took over the entire R-R line; Volkswagen will continue to manufacture parts for the 1998-2003 R-R until 2013.

Also, the Hyperion isn't "modified"; it's entirely one-off. The body was handmade in carbon fiber, the interior is likewise unique.

I saw it in person at Pebble Beach, and it's UGLY.

Seems to have lost a bit of its 'pressence'. Like when you see a Phantom..its just an incredibly bold statement; the front of it is like a very smug and serious face. This thing however has a bit of its RR soul taken away. Rhinestone headlamps, and rounded shrouding...hmm. I think the Germans have done enough damage to Bentley's traditional squared body, I certainly hope the same isn't done to the future Rolls Royce motor cars. The Drophead Phantom is farrrr enough in my opinion.
