on a 2Dementional plane its not possible... but in real life it isnt 2D so 2 pipes or vents could cross without actually touching

The key with all these logicpuzzle alot of times is to think outside the box

it's not cheating, this is the real way. If you were given this on a logic test they give you lined paper with binder holes and you would use those, going through houses is like going through holes(underground).

the real puzzle is impossible. but that doesnt account for the fact that water and gas come in in pipes, and electricity comes to most houses through telephone poles. So, the electricity lines can cross anything. gas and electric can also cross, because pipes are made in all different shapes and sizes. if you take a couple of "L" shaped pipes, you can cross gas and water, because one can go under the other.

Exactly... the puzzle is actually 100% impossible in 2D (paper, whatever) but of course, technology has it's flaws, hence the right-click.
