thank god for 21st century technology, otherwise i wouldnt have realised this Saint's great sacrifice....I only hope to be as brave as him one day....and step forward, to help the weak, true courage and love for humanity...there is good....and evil...
His life was so precious. His suffering was profound. But when they came to check on him,he had died with a smile on his face... Thank you for posting this. I pray that everyone who sees it,to comes to Faith. St. Max~~ora pro nobis.
its so nice to be able to watch a christian video on youtube and no see a bunch of people posting a bunch of terrible comments about christianity, we need more people like St Maximilian to show that christianity can be good, God bless St Maximilian
I am not Catholic, but Maximilian Kolbe is one of my favourite saints. He and Edith Stein (another Auschwitz saint) remind us that it was not just Jews who died in the Holocaust. They serve as the Vatican's confirmation that the Holocaust was not a (Zionist) hoax as certain types would have us believe.
I don't believe in god but this man was a real hero and i hope he will never be forgotten! R.I.P St Maximilian Kolbe! Im not proud being a german after the holocaust ;(
BRILLIANT, WATCHED THIS IN RE THE OTHER DAY, LOVE THE PICTURES. A TRULY GRIPPING, SAD AND FASCINATING STORY. THE MUSIC IS A BRILLIANT CHOICE (ESPECIALLY THE FACE OF BOES THEME FROM DR WHO AT THE END) BEAUTIFUL. MR HUMPRIES IF YOU'RE READING THIS ITS NICK FROM 8RAY
A 1948 deposition by Gen. Karl Wolff, the SS commandant for Italy, revealed the Nazis' wartime plan to kidnap the pope, kill countless cardinals and seize the Vatican. The following prominent Jews defended Pius XII: Golda Meir, Rabbi Herzog, Rabbi Finkelstein, Rabbi Safran, Pinchas Lapide, Jeno Levai, Moshe Sharett. I think that I'll take their word over anti-Semite's like Rolf Hochhuth and disgruntled Catholics like John Cornwell. Pius XII is credited with saving 700-860,000 European Jews.
@LORKops john cornwell and gary Will are fake Catholics, sorry of the expression (Jewish Wipe Ass). This role has brought them alot of money and praise from N Y Times and similar trash. You see Cornwell talk and you can feel his lack of sincerity and how fake he is.

yeah english wikipedia-i read more about him not only on wikipedia and in his native language;) and trust me that he was normal person and he did it not because he was chosen(saw virgin maria etc etc)it was normal reaction of normal person-human reaction and that's why i repect him ....chosen heroes always have easier so that's why people create and create legend, live of christian fantasty and don't see that facts are greater than "saw virgin maria" stories.....
I had the honor of being at St. Peter's Square in October of1982 when John Paul II beatified this man Maximillian Kolbe. Franciszek Gajowniczek, the man whom Maximillian Kolbe saved, was present for the beatification. Gajowniczek lived well into his nineties before he died.
its told that max saw the virgin mary as a boy and he chose to be a martyr then, and thats how he knew it was his time in he camp.i love this man and i wish more ppl in the world were like him, including me

LOL please do not create legend like this "its told that max saw the virgin mary as a boy and he chose to be a martyr then"....he was normal guy who was scared and didn't know his future....so when you create myth and legend....you decrease his sacrife...it's nothing special to be hero when you know that you will be.....you see i never forget about Maksymilian Kolbe not because he was some hero who saw the virgin mary blablabla but because he gave his life as normal guy for another person....
Padre Massimiliano Kolbe, Santo tra i Santi. Prega nostro Signore Gesù Cristo e l'Immacolata Concezione perché il popolo di Dio ritrovi l'unità e sappia seguire la retta via indicata da Gesù.
I remember hearing this story back in Catholic grade school way before he was declared a Saint. We must all pray for the blessing of his courage. St. Maximillian Kolbe, pray for us.
One hardly feels worthy to call oneself a Catholic when compared to Saint Kolbe. People today talk of rights and mock God and in fear of being sued people back off and let everyone thrash the sacred. Saint Kolbe died in faith.... The Christian world has come a long way in the wrong direction in relation to people like Saint Kolbe. May he pray for us all and help us to have his courage and strength!
It is my personal belief that Maximilian Kolbe is the greatest hero of WWII. While other people similar acts of heroism during WWII, I think Kolbe is the person who best displays the love of Christ by sacrificing his life for a stranger.
I can only pray that when my time to die comes, I go with half the love Kolbe showed in the end.
"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends."

Many german officers in Auschwitz were Christians, so St. Max could tell them that he is Christian too and that killing isn't what Christians should do to Jews, even if Bible is generally against Jews and supported this holocaust.
The New Testament is against killing anyone, and all German Christians know the Christian Law, including Hitler, who was catechized and a Catholic. The Christian Germans were said to have killed Fr. Kolbe as an act of reprisal. So, why didn't they kill him in front of everyone, as a typical act of reprisal? Why did they take him away and hide it from the eyes of those in whom it was meant to instill fear?
Apparently Fr. Kolbe thought no one needed him to hear their confession before so many died in that camp. He clearly believed he was useless and unimportant to the camp inmates.
Thank you to everyone who has commented so far, i read every comment that is posted, and i am constantly amazed and pleased by what you all say, thanks so much
Saint Maximilian! You have proved that Love is greater than anything else. Indeed, there is no greater love than this when one gives his own life to his friends. Now you dwell in the Light of Immaculate Heart of Mary, whom you so much loved. Pray for us, dear witness of Christ in the stormy nights of 20th century

100% true ! Golda Meir even said he was
a war hero . End of issue .
End of the real popes also . ...
Now we have a nazi "p0pE" ...how sad .
If he was a Nazi but conservative and
really Catholic do you think the Jews Media would love him so much or would his Nazi past be a big deal ?
Ratzinger gets a pass because he is a
insider also and NOT Catholic at all .

It's so sad to think of how many Catholics were murdered by the Nazis but because the Zionists control our media people think only Jews were killled .
During his whole life ending ordeal
Benedict was a Nazi anti-aircraft gunner
in the Nazi Army
Real Catholics were killed or were sent to
the camps for complaining or they worked for the underground resistance .
NOT RAT zinger ! He took the non Catholic easy way . What a Traitor to
the faith he is
a Nazi accused of heresy
