A saleen 281 is a mustang GT with a body kit and suspension and rebuilt gt engine. a Saleen 351 roadster is a different story. It gots a 5.8 liter beast and was running 11s on a natural aspirated engine.

a GT could very much beat a saleen! all you need is mods man mods are everything! the bullitt only has a CAI and some break and suspension mods. 275hp compared to the base GT at 260. throw some 4.10s, cams, full exhaust and intake and you could run 11s. dont forget weight of a 99-04 GT is only 3250.

stock 99-04s come at 3460, with the exception of mine which is convertible at 3650

the saleen wasnt the extreme or anything. it only has the body kit and larger exhaust tips so it was just a stock gt engine with pulleys.

Im not sure, you may be right, but Saleen has a Sterling Edition out, its a 5.0L modular 302ci that has something like 620 HP

That's the supercharged version...if it's just the non-supercharged saleen (i.e. body kit, chip, exhaust, etc like coolguy3432 said) then you could easily have a cobra or a GT with mods be faster...

Obviously... the GT was hooked up with Bolt ons + 100/shot of No2(NOT USED ON THIS PARTICULAR RACE).

The saleen is real but is the N.A version. Which power wise is basically a minor bolt on GT.

The camera car is a bolt on + supercharger GT of the same year. That explains why it pulls in after we started racing...

PS: 99-04 GT's came w/ 260HP not 245HP.... ;)

everything like the first only difference is that it is supercharged and hood

the third saleen(Saleen Extreme)-

everything like the 1st and 2nd but this has a different hood, puts out more boost from the blower and i believe the brakes are upgraded.

05 and up have the same types of models

a N/A SALEEN, SUPERCHARGED SALEEN, AND A EXTREME SALEEN.

Actually the base Saleen and GT do carry the same motor and tranny but the Saleen comes with different suspension and looks. But that is only the base Saleen.

not entirely correct saleen is still a 4.6..its a base gt motor,..and while yes the mach and cobra have same heads still totally different engine big difference cobra is a cast iron block and the mach 1 is alluminum block, 03-04 cobras had a m112 eaton supercharger, while saleen had their own similar supercharger not all were supercharged, those that are not still get special performance upgrades

No the saleen has a series roots blower...I didnt give a specific series number becuase they changed through out the years. The 04' saleens had a seriesIV blower. They pretty much manufacture their own, while eaton makes the ones cobras have.

The mach 1 engines have intake cams from the lincoln navigator, and special exhast cams. compression ratio is 10.0:1 and 5 speed machs have a forged crank, auto=cast. All machs have hypereutic pistons. Cobras have their own special cams and 8.8:1 compression. All cobra engines have fully forged internals including pistons and rods. The saleen does not have an svt supercharger, it has a saleen roots type blower, yes saleen makes it's own roots type blowers and sells kits for various cars.
