  • Yes, stuttering is painful. There are some good therapies out there. For instance, a very good therapy can be found on naturaltherapyforstuttering. -c-o-m.

  • I've been on various speech therapy programs but can never really apply the technique for long especially in social situations. Over the years I've lost most of the anxiety for most common situations although it will never be like when speaking on your own. I sometimes come across prejudice, mostly from my family believe it or not, when they try confrontational power games like standing in my personal space, even personal defamation but even that doesn't knock me - there's no other choice.

  • nice inspiration

  • heh... for me, my friends have been very understanding and patient and waited for me to talk, and my stutter have not keept me from stand forth and talk to a big group of people... the big problem for me is that there's almost no room for people who stutter when you need to find a job :S

  • game of stuttering dr morton cooper see his videos on youtube, best info on stuttering ive ever heard... :)

  • hi hun, great video! :) but i totally disagree, i don't believe its neurological, and this hasn't been proven... please watch these videos by mort cooper, give them a go, nothing to lose and all that. Just by watching these and taking his advice has really help my speech so much this last week. u take care, and once again, gr8 vid! Rodgewww.youtube.com/watch?v=MxrsAT_hHJQ

  • @Queeg500RD good videos, makes sense what he says: noone is a perfect speaker, so dont try to be perfect. i think that fear got into all areas of my life, but have been trying to get rid of it and chill more :-)

  • If u had a choice to keep it or to get rid off it .......

are you sure from your heart??

  • That was one of the best videos on stuttering I have ever seen. You really inspired me. That comment by IndianSummer1982 just shows how ignorant people are. Even when you try to educate them, they still don't get it. Sad.

  • i have a stammer to, i know what ur saying all 2 well xx

  • i have to same thing people tell me slow down or think about what you want to say and i just had to learn over the years is to brush them off and don't let them effect me. thats one reason ive been labeled a quiet person because i just got tired of hearing people make comments about my stammering. dont let it get you down, my advice try to communicate as much as you can, when i found out about night clubs at 16 and started going to them i practiced talking to as many females as i could

  • To the ignorant comment posters who thinks she's faking, for many people, stuttering varies -alot- depending on the situation, so speaking fluently in some situations doesn't mean you don't have a stutter. For me, the worst thing is saying important messages, and calling someone with the phone. So my worst fear would be if I had to call an ambulance for a friend for example. :p

  • i'm the worlds FIRST online stuttering consuelor. i would like to help any stutters out there. i host a free stuttering show on ustream.tv. please contact me through youtube to set up a free appt. thank you. good luck

    santamaria method to cure stammering.

  • you're so cute! i know that it takes a lot of confidence, but like any other obstacle it takes multiple things to alleviate it. I might always stutter and I have to face that, but i really appreciate your cheerful video.

  • Are you single right now? because i think you are so cute, pretty and wonderful. I asked you probably about a year ago... lol..

  • ..i can totally relate 2 U..i bunked my class XI for 2 months..cuz i cud'nt call out my roll number..n then when I would struggle 2 tell my roll..the entire class would laugh..then 10 years later when the Lord Jesus touched me and I got born-again n made Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior..the Lord healed me and set me free from stammer.. praying 4U my precious friend n believing 4 ur healing in Jesus Name...pray you'll know Jesus Christ...God bless U so much..Jesus loves U so much..take good care.

  • i stammer while im crying

  • keep it up! i wish i could speak as eloquently as you! then i would be like you and think it wasnt a burden!

  • i have a serious question do you do this for attention?? cause it makes you look........ya know it would just be eaiser to call you stupid.

  • What stammer?

  • You don't stammer, you poser.

  • Hey I appreciate your courage and I decide to make a video like yours soon btw, don't care about some crude people saying something impolite

  • Your cute! I always thought Irish girls were, and your stammer and you are cute!

I'm 20 and I have developed a stammer over the last few weeks, is nothing really bad, yesterday, was on a night out and with friends I've known for years and the whole day I was stammering, most days I'm fine just some I might as well just wire shut my jaw! Lmao

  • stammers are cute anyway. and you get to have an irish accent which i'm kind of jealous about. don't get down about your stammer

  • do u have a tongue?

  • One word.

    Cute!!

    Wish to know you.

  • You are cute, and brave. dont want to leave so much words here... keep it up.. brighten up ur way, walk through it... peace..

  • THIS REALLY WORKS!!!!

FIRST put both hands on your chest (boy or girl.)

SECOND think of someone you like.

THIRD tomorrow they will ask you out or say they love you.

FOURTH heres the catch, write this to 5 vidios

  • i have had a stammer since i was like 10 and i've never had the confidence to talk to new people or infront of anyone

  • oh yes u pretty

    dont bother u stammer

  • you're georgeus, i'm in love with you

  • Yes you are right. I first saw this video about 7 months ago and i keep coming back to it from time to time because she really is absolutely beautiful :)

  • You are very cute, so if you are not married to your boyfriend yet fifjojo69 then pop over and see me in Australia :) ... actually my Korean girlfriend of 5 years for whom i was going to marry this year broke it off with me today and its left me obliterated, but i too have a stutter and it is manageable because i was building a good life but of course not anymore. Time to start over again :(

  • I wouldn't want to get rid of my stammer either.. I think its changed me for the better. It's slowly decreasing as the years pass.. melting away. :D its all in the mind.. being confident is everything

  • you are very cute. the stutter makes you cuter in my opinion. and ive never met someone who actually stutters. so if u and you bf go sour. get at me gurl loll..

  • when we did our video we weren't saying any thing about it being bad it was just a random thing we did but i didnt want to offend you or any one else

    Randomly,

    The YouTumers

  • Are you partially deaf too, because you phonics sounds like that of a partially deaf person?

  • no, i eh lost my voice so i sound weird on the video phone

  • try on try on

  • erm, what does that mean?

  • stuttering is a form of OCD is all. it can be easily fixed. jj solari

  • no it isn't, it neurologocial problem with the speaking part of the brain. please don't comment such idiotic hings

  • Wht's that supposed to mean?? If u can speak normally most times and when u r speaking to ur self etc that wud mean that there's nothing wrong with the speaking part of the brain. Stutter is an acquired impediment, most get the stutter when they're young and when they learn to speak

  • nope its a neurological problem and proven to be so.

  • No one has proven anything and it can't be a neurological problem. My simple argument is that if a person can speak without a hint of stutter in one context(like for example speaking to him/herself or speaking to pet/animal or maybe even speaking to your best frnd/frnds) then he or she should be able to replicate this fluency in any context.

  • I have no doubt that Stutter is an acquired impediment and it's a psychological problem and most of them get the stutter when they are young, right bout the time when they learn to speak.I know it's very difficult to control and in certain situations it's almost impossible but you need to find the strength and persevere to get through it. There are many people who have been there and who have freed themselves from this prison.

  • If there was ever a way by which you could forget that you ever stuttered, trust me, you'd never stutter again.

  • Stuttering IS all in the mind though.

  • Yes, it's all in the mind and its only when you believe that 100% that u can slowly but steadily get rid of the stutter. There shouldn't be a hint of doubt that you're capable of speaking coherently and then you'd see that the stutter slowly melting away.

  • It is not "all" in the mind, there is a biological aspect of it due to the over production of Dopamine, and there have been many experiments done to link this to the problem. There is a part of the brain called the Striatum that has been show that under times of stress and severe stutter that the is up to 300% more Dopamine within the Striatum at the time of the severe stutter as opposed to another for whom does not stutter with normal levels of Dopamine within the Striatum.

  • But if you can in some way increase the level of Serotonin which will naturally lower the production of Dopamine by being somewhat of a counter balance, then it can certainly help, which is why i take something called 5-HTP which is a serotonin booster but in a natural not pharmaceutical way.

  • How would you explain people who've had stuttering during their childhood and in to the 20s and then overcome it?

  • Well i am not saying that all people have a difficulty with Dopamine levels and for some it is a matter of learning how to deal or learn better how to manage stress the older that person gets, whilst others have diminished Adrenal function which leads to all sorts of problems related to anxiety, depression ..etc.. the hormonal balance of our body dictates our response to stress and how well we deal with it, if its compromised in one area its compromised elsewhere.

  • To say its simply psychological and nothing more is to simple of a suggestion. Yes it can be psychological and a good half of it most likely is, but when stress levels kick in the hormonal and brain chemical changes shift and for stutterers it appears the shift seems to be and over ride of Dopamine, would also explain why there are good day and bad day stutters, because it can be dependent upon the levels of Dopamine during that give week, day or month.

  • @fifijojo69 for some it is neurological, for others it is emotional based ie. something traumatic happened. I have an emotional stutter. you perhaps might have a mixture of emotional and neurological because i noticed when you were talking about the female bouncer, you were slightly upset, and that caused you to stutter. Stuttering is very complex and can't just be labeled with one thing. If it were so simple, people would be cured of this.

  • damn! you're hot!!

i don't see any problem as long as you'll speak like in the video in the everyday life.. you don't stutter in it!

anyway.. hang on girl.. be strong! don't give a fuck about anyone!

if someone laughin' at you it's only because he's so pathetic thinking he can ignore his own problems by showin' yours to the ppl around him.. what makes him even more pathetic..

  • i wont date a girl who dont stammer/stutter...

i stutter and i feel "wrong" or "the other side" of humanity. and when im with a girl who stutter i feel like "home" :P or something

  • yeah..cz they are same species like us..

but very rare wif female stammerer

  • go on hot stuff!!! xxx

  • good to see someone being positive about having a stammer :) my best friend has one and and he's also found its getting better the more he puts himself out there and talks to strangers

  • i find girls who stammer really attractive.

it brings people to the moment and if theres eye contact then wow.

  • erm thats good to know :)

  • I agree too. I know many guys, not just myself, who find a stammer attractive. So keep up the good attitude its well deserved. Love your attitude all around.

  • Hi fifijojo69. Spoonog here Just saying hello

Hope all is well what are you studying in college.

  • Hey! I stutter as well. Ironically I got a job in a call center in Bombay where I worked for 6 months spot on without anyone noticing i stutter. However, later, I applied for a job in a call center in Thailand, but i stuttered hard then! HAHA, didnt get the job! Sometimes I stutter, sometimes i dont. its like there's season haha. However, at times, now everytime God helps ;)

  • dude!!! I Aspire to have your confidance!!!

  • You're a quite lovely person. This nice English accent really caught my interest.

Anyway, my stammer is a bad affliction. I don't understand why I can speak fluently sometimes and at other times I stumble over my sounds and struggle with the speech. You can do a job with talking to customers? I'd hate that, honestly. When I stutter I just cannot say what's on my mind. I think I'm the master of word substitutions, no one can this better than me.

  • dude, i'm irish not english

  • Sorry, I meant the accent of the English language.

  • I too have a stammer, but i just want to say fifijojo69 that you are such a captivating and beautiful girl both mentally and physically and just in some other way i can't quite put my finger on!? :) Your boyfriend is one lucky man. Excellent video and all the best.

  • thank u, but i guess i should change the video, i'm single now. had to move on to better things..

  • you would keep your stammer? you must be insane. i hate my own stammer. it kept me from joining the drama class. it seems to get severe when i'm very nervous. maybe jumping off a cliff would be the right thing to do, but i'm not suicidal. i want to have a life, but these people laughing at me make it hell.

  • because its made me the way i am. i'm a stronger person for it but i also realised theres more to people then that meets the eye.

also you don't tend to stutter if your acting or if you put on an accent or even sing. mayb you should try the drama class, you never know...

  • I better forget the drama class. I can sing fluently though. In comfortable situations I can talk as fluently as you do in the video. But just don't let me talk to a group or read aloud.

  • You may already know this, but there is a therapy called 'Delayed Auditory Feedback'. YouTube has a few demonstrations of it.

  • Thanks for the positive vibes. You are a lovely lady.

  • i've reached the fucking point where evrything is hollow and pitch black cos o' this shite that's rooted in my parents and my shitty childhood

  • dude the only thing i can say is seek some help, there are loads of speech therapist out there and there loads of methods to control your stammer.

  • i know what it is like I'm a grown up man living in Manchester england confined to my flat rejected by those perfectionist arseholes out there i couldn't interact with people and once i try to do so i get rejected i cant get a fucking word out my abilities get fucking underestimated because of this shite i don't know how much longer i could go on with this so i think the best thing to do is to commit suicide

  • This video brought tears to my eyes. I am older than you, but everything you said is true.

    Total frustration has no escape.

  • Very well done, and very personal, one would think you would be a little more withdrawn but congrats on your confidence. Your video makes me want to be a better person. Godbless.

  • haha, i'm not one bit withdrawn. lol :)

  • nice video :D.personaly i would rather b stammer free.i think the level of confidence in a stammerer depends on the severity of the stammer.my stammer is sometimes terrible and it drains all confidence.i Cant have a job where im speaking to the public Or do i approach girls as ive had enough bad experiences which had led me to avoid both situations. treatments like the mcguire programme or conventional speech therapy havnt worked. yes my story sounds sad but im not depressed, i just accept it.

  • I actually think stuttering in women is kinda sexy.

  • don't worry you speak well and however i like people who stammer

  • thanks.. y do u like people who stammer?

  • aii..

i stammer too..but i think mine r bad than urs..

    ur stammer wasn't too bad..

  • i think you are talking very well my little nephew has a very bad stammer but hes getting help for it and if anyone insults him their in trouble

  • Great job!

  • thank u. :)

  • Thanks for watchin my Stella Street vids..

I'll be uppin some some soon (just got my hands on series 3)...haven't had the time lately because being off work (hols) i have spent a lot of time on the p*ss...and suffering from bad hangovers.
