Growing up along the Florida, Alabama, Mississippi gulf coast I used to hear these birds all the time as a kid. For some strange reason I haven't heard a bob white quail in over 20 years! I wonder what happened to them!? Any ideas anyone?

Believe it or not I was down at my cousin's house a few days ago near Fowl River, Alabama and heard a Bobwhite call for the first time in over 25 years! Maybe they are trying to make a comeback in this area!? I certainly hope so!

@ryanspeed Actually the Feral cats are taking a toll on the Bob Whites, If you see a cat in the woods blast it.

ahhh yeah we used to never hear them until my dad did this program to grow wild native plants, in which the fescue has taken over. these plants help the bobwhite to move around better, fescue is so thick they cant, BUT yeah we have done the program for little over a year and we cannot go out on the porch without hearing this, it awesome that they actually come.

I miss Bob White quail! When I lived in Georgia as a little girl, you could hear them

calling in the woods on a summer morning. But

after awhile you didn't hear them anymore. I

don't know if they're disappearing from Georgia or just that area. But now I live in

NW Massachusetts and I never hear any! Thanks
