Getting 500bhp out of an engine that size is, IMHO, pathetic. An Audi S3 (1.8 turbo) is upgradeable to 400bhp, with better fuel comsumption. Fuel consumption may not matter to you in a country where fuel is cheaper than water (so to speak), but here, where we pay €1.40 per litre, it's a different kind of thing. If you Americans made fuel-efficient cars, we wouldn't run out of natural resources in ~20 years. Think about that.

It's not the same engine as the one in GTi(not the same turbo it has K04 the Gti has K03, not the same intercooler, not the same injectors, etc.) it's the same as the one in S3 but de-tuned.
