@bottelboy65 it looks like it but the trickster guy was different, he was a little shorter and had a more broader face. I went to it last sunday. it was sweeettt stuff
dude one of the guys on the wheel of death did the jump rope and the rope actually CAUGHT HIS FOOT! the whole crowd gasped but luckily he caught himself before he could fall off and get seriously injured
This was my first time seeing Cirque du Soleil live! ...and it was awsome! I always appreciate the work they put into not only their acts, but also the music, costumes, and sets.
saw it in toronto 20$ for opening week for students :D:D WOO HOO that was last year when it first came out or 2 years ago i cant remember...awesome tho ..wheel of death scariest damn thing ever
right here! He looks so fine! Especially if he's in his red and yellow outfit! OMG! i was practically staring at him every time he appeared on stage! Haha!! XDD
Hallo menschen, wir sind Glucklich dass wir haben so einzige komedien wie David SHINER.Dankeschon=tanks=merci=gracias=tesekkurler,Barbaros Montreal/Canada
I posted this before but it seems to have been lost in the shuffle. There are several "accidents" or "slip-ups" that you will see in every show, these are intentional and meant to create the "gasp" effect. The falling from the wire and the tripping on the wheel are two such incidents.
Yes, you will see a few of the same "mistakes" in every single show. Also the "dissapearing girl" is part of the show, she is the assistant to the juggler if I remember correctly.
I have to agree, I identify with him a lot. Delighted to watch the goings on, but not able to fully participate. He's like an extension of the audience.
I also like that he unleashes the skeleton dancers, and this sort of dark force, into Kooza. It's frightening, but, like him, mostly harmless. :)
i don't know, that's what i've been wondering, since it seems that a lot of people have been talking about the fall on the trapeze, and I think there was something on "A Thrilling Ride Through Kooza" about that the trapeze artists want the audience to feel the danger....I don't know.
when I saw it, the tight rope guy fell (when he jumped over the other guy) and it looked like he really hurt his calf, he was clutching it, and his wig flew into the audiene
Just curious...did anyone actually see the three mini-trampolines in the stage, or the balancing-on-the-pole act, or The Trickster on the swing with the solo trapeze girl at any time? I saw the show twice in Toronto, and none of that was in it the days I saw...just wondering! :)
shame on who ever actully video taped this...you CANT capture the performence on video! they are to talented to get ripped off like that...for shame....
Saw this show in Toronto on opening night, this video while good does not and no video could ever do Cirque justice...the only way to experience Cirque is to go, then go again...then go again. We've seen 5 shows now, within the next 10 days we will have been to see this show again.
same here...saw it yesterday in toronto. frmo the minute the show started i had goosebumps. the music and the set was absolutely beautiful and the performances amazing!
Technically, John Gilkey was a character in Quidam and Varekai. His role in each show is known as the "Guide." Each show had other clowns perform. John did however perform as a clown in Dralion in 2001-2002. He's not on the dvd.
storyline-wise, it can be compared more to Quidam...what with being guided through a different world of imagination, The Trickster & Clowns acting like John and Boum-Boum, The Innocent acting as Zoe.
you are right with the trickster and the innocent, i haven't seen kooza yet but do the clowns act little like Boum-Boum? I think they acted like fools.
When i said "acting like" i meant it more of "in the role of" if that makes more sense. They are fools, playing off each other like the 3-Stooges. The "lead" clown is very funny and dynamic, much like John Gilkey [from Dralion, Quidam, Varekai, Solstram]
John Gilkey is not on the Dralion DVD. The clowns on the DVD are Soizick Hébert, Johnny Fillion, Joe de Paul and Eric Goulem (the audience transplant). John GIlkey did not join Dralion until 2001 which was after the dvd was flmed.
that's what i was thinking when I heard the song for the first time, probebly a New Age group I was thinking off but oh well. Amazing show! Not missing it

John was the "plant"...the audience member that was brought up on stage to help the short, frightened clown.

DVD...when I saw the tour he had already moved on to work with Varekai, so I have no idea who it was then.

Pretty sure. He is listed in the credits as well.

John Gilkey is not on the Dralion DVD. The clowns on the DVD are Soizick Hébert, Johnny Fillion, Joe de Paul and Eric Goulem (the audience transplant). John GIlkey did not join Dralion until 2001 which was after the dvd was flmed.
