@mikie8865 i have also seen it behave strangely with the naked eye. even without binoculars or a telescope, it still has flashing colors and you can still see it change shape. i see tons of ufos where i live, i live in the mountains of arizona, very close to where the guy from snowflake area was abducted, that ended up leading to the film "fire in the sky" there is a lot of activity up here, and whats weird is i see most of the ufos at the same time every night, or early morning.

Google takes snapshots in time, and it may take years before they get updated photos. Perhaps there was an orbital object in the path of Sirius that should not be public knowledge. As for the variable nature of the camera images... while it may have been a clear night, the atmosphere can still have a large effect. And lets not forget, orbital objects can partially occlude distant stars in transit - which if you film with a standard ccd camera, may cause the star to significantly dim.

The video has sirius partly unfocussed, and what you see is the complex diffraction pattern of an unfocussed star. That along with atmospheric turbulence causes the complex 'dance'.

Stars twinkle because the Earth's atmosphere distorts the light, it's a mirage. That's why NASA launched the Hubble telescope to get above the distorting effects of our atmosphere. The shimmering and colour changes don't happen to the star itself, it's a marriage effect caused by hot and cold turbulent air mixing in the Earth's atmosphere. Start learning about how camera lenses distort the already atmospheric distortions of light yet further, that will answer a lot of your questions about what yuoure filming. Tighten all screws and make sure base is ROCK SOLID, then focus on the DIMMEST star you can see in the field of the viewfinder AFTER waiting for eyes to adjust (smoking will affect your night vision)!!

What do you know of astronomy? Sirius is either the brightest or 2nd brightest star in the northern hemisphere's night sky. What do you know of stellar photography? You have to mask or dodge out the brightest object to see the fainter ones. Common knowledge in the photography field.

What you are seeing in these videos of Sirius is the effects of the atmosphere distorting the image of the star, plus the image is out of focus and showing the airy disk and diffraction rings that are produced light passes through optics. The colour change and unstable look to the star is simply the turbulent layers of air refracting the light in much the same way as water in a pool distorts the view of the bottom.

@MrTMaccabee All stars can be seen to twinkle on nights of unsteady seeing, though brighter stars are more obvious to the eye, Sirius being the brightest star in the night sky makes it a prime target for the effects of distortion. When viewing the planets as well, the image can be seen to ripple like water is running over them when the seeing is bad. The thing is though that planet being extended objects rather than point sources of light they tend not to exhibit twinkling as severely as stars.

How much does atmospheric lensing really have on light? The atmosphere is pretty thick and has countless temperature and wind eddies all through it. How can a person be sure what they are looking at? I understand the moon has colors like greens and blues but when viewed through the atmosphere it is grey.

I heard most people seem to think Nibiru is hidden someonewhere around orion, but I saw little of interest personally when you showed the star map.

@CoronaMage What I was showing was the Star Sirius in all forms over the past two years, that low resolution you see is Sirius. I have no filters or special lenses on the camera and have used the same camera always. that the star has changed over time, every image that you see in this video except the Google sky intro , are film of Sirius . I am saying is that something is going on with this star and Orion as well. As for showing the sky map, it's to show a masked out Sirius.
