Truth is that we were lucky to draw. We were without creativity and ideas, resorting to aimless long-balls for the entire match. We looked threatening from set-pieces, but that was it. Would have probably done England the world of good not to qualify all the way back in 2001 rather than letting English mediocrity drag on for another few years.
I'll never forget this game, the highlights don't quite do Beckham justice. The energy, passion, and relentless fight that Backham had that day dragged England through the game. One of his greatest ever games. His passion puts the majority of English players to shame. Living legend, a true Lion. May it never be forgotten.
Actually forgot how many free kicks Beckham had in that game. About time he got one in :D!
