  • Thanks for the superb video! My Ultralite does not works on Lion. I'm going to purchase an M-Audio profire 610 but I'm not sure. What is Your audio interface? What OS are you running?

  • @aviucastan I just have an M Audio firewire solo and i'm running Lion.

  • How can you afford all that? :)

  • @Flinkisen I don't know.

  • @IBMaccMartelli bro please respond to this look im new at this studio stuff right now i got a micophone in a labtop in it a usb shurekm27 micophone in i was wondering like when i plug it in to my labtop in like i say hey or something why cant i hear my shelf in it

  • @SuperHiphop1990 Did you set your input sound from your computer mic to the Shure mic and are you using an audio interface and if you are what program are you using?

  • @IBMaccMartelli how to set my input sound from my computer mic to shure mic in wat a audio interface in please be patient with me im 16 in my bro was gonna teach me this stuff but he got lock up i call my homeboy he live out of state doe in he said i need a mixter

  • - im ,, trynna . make a home studio and i dont have no clue wat to do first . lol tips ?.

  • @mstoocute123 Get a DAW and learn it. Recording is useless if you don't know how to use the software. Once you get over the learning curve build on from what you need.

  • a mac is definitely the best computer to make music? can you tell me why please?

  • @rivas2917 They're not, get what you want to work with some programs work with only PC and some with only Mac. If you have a program that works with both get the one that you like to work with. Don't get something because everybody else has it.

  • hey, nice setup, may i ask what speakers are those?

  • @factory2012 Fostex, they're ok I'm looking to upgrade. Just been spending money and time on other stuff right now.

  • If you have an interface whats the point of connecting the mixer to the computer to control speakers when you can just connect them through the interface? please respond?

  • @iliveRoDREAMS The mixer allows me to have multiple instruments, miss and headphones for when I have people recording i can hear what their hearing. Having a mixer also allows me to connect a subwoofer. You can't do that with just a interface. Anymore questions?

  • @IBMaccMartelli You can indeed do all that with just an interface - just not YOUR interface ;-)

  • @i2h12315 Thats why I have the mixer.

  • @IBMaccMartelli Now you put it like that, it kinda makes sense ;-) Seriously though, the footprint of the mixer is quite large and generally unnecessary - but it works for you so all good. I'm just jealous because I don't have as much desktop 'real estate'!

  • @i2h12315 Every studio is different and people have different equipment. Just because people may have more or less doesn't make them better or worse. You can make a song with a tape recorder, pots and pans with NO interface and it will come out better than most of the music out there now. But thanks for watching commenting.

  • @KrunchMunk33y To answer your question even more easierly. It is not the macs that are better, it's their Operating system X. It's a stable Operating system based on Unix. But apart from that, everything you pay on a mac, you get the same on a Workstation PC, the only difference is you pay more just for the Brand, and their Casing.

  • @KrunchMunk33y No Mac's are not the best. It's apples and oranges when it comes to music gear. As long as your computer has enough RAM and storage you're good. But get a external Hard drive to save music on. Also some programs that work on Mac may not work on PC and vice versa. If you want your own sound, pick what equipment is comfortable to use. When it comes to making music there is no set rule.

  • I have a macbook and an iPad what else do you think i would need to start making beats?? EVERYTHING i need

  • @philipdrocks If your going to make beats for production purposes ditch the iPad it's useless. Get a DAW software like Reason or Logic. Most people will say that Logic is the best for Mac products, but it's not. Which ever you are most comfortable with is the best software to use. Get some good speaker for monitoring music if you can't afford any right now get some really good headphones (REALLY good headphones) and don't make it a permanent solution you will eventually have to get speakers.

  • @IBMaccMartelli Oh okay I just heard that iPads had really good apps (sample tank) to hook up with other computer software any way you don't think i would need a beat pad or some kind of hardware other than speakers?

  • @philipdrocks Yeah sure, MIDI controllers are a must. If you're on a budget like i said most controllers can be controlled on your screen so you don't need a controller it just makes it easier. So yeah a midi controller would be good too. And If you have all your sounds on your computer with your DAW software, connecting an iPad to your computer wouldn't be efficient it would be just extra and hardly be used. Keep your sounds with your main DAW.

  • @IBMaccMartelli iight thanks hellas man you helped me a lot ill subscribe or whatever.

  • @ibmacmatelli: ok thanks

  • Im completing my home studio and i need a mic . Anyone suggest one???

  • @tomtomad1099 get a mic that is is in the 60 to 100 dollar range you don't want to skimp out out on quality as far as a mic goes. As far as brand goes, it really doesn't matter but, Rode, MXL and Blue makes real good mics.

  • Looks nice man

  • dear god everything you own is garrrr booooge and your beats are garrrr booooge hahahhaa lol

and lastly your tracks are garrrr boooge lol

  • AY! Wassup! haha

  • Well done. Clean layout, organized. Very nice.

  • Wait - what do you need the mixer for?

  • @Julle83 so I can plug more than one microphone or headphone in. The interface only has input for mic and headphone. I use the mixer like a router, it's the same as in big studios but mine is on a way smaller scale.

  • why have you got a windscreen and then a pop filter?..

  • @TynanOfficial To show both, i don't use both at the same time.

  • You have Mac and Adam then You use Reason ?

  • @TurkishMusician313 what is Adam?

  • @IBMaccMartelli sorry mate , i did mistake . Which monitors do you have ? are they active ?

  • @TurkishMusician313 I have Fostex monitors and yes they're active.

  • nice setup feel free to check mines out

  • echo echo echo

  • great room but do you and your music justice and treat it! Research what you would need to do and i swear you won't be sorry!

    Just an opinion - Peace

  • you dont need a pop filter if your going to have the wind shield on the mic.

  • chicken is good

  • Interesting wiring config

  • We'd Love To Mix/Master Your tracks! Google Us EmpireLabz

  • buy 8 inch monitor...........

  • You need to place your speakers at a better angle, also de-ess the sound of this video haha.

  • i have a m audio fire wire solo too but i dont' have any chords to hook it up do you know where to buy the firewire cable and the other plug

  • what mixer/interfaces plug into the imac g6

  • what do you use your mixing desk for ?

  • nice set up bud

  • i wish i had money 2 bad im poor

  • Hey there, quick question. I recently bought a pair of Rokit 5 studio monitors. I love the sound and levelling they bring to my productions however as i am connecting them directly (jack to jack) to my laptop i get alot of feedback and *hissing* sounds. A friend told me i should get a audio interface and connect the speakers through xlr, but i don't know what a good Audio interface is that is compatible with windows 7, Reason 5 + cubase 5? thanks alot man.

  • LOL @ "honestly I can't hear the difference.."

Google "monster cables clothes hanger" ... a consumer reports research project subbed metal clothes hangers over monster cables and "audiophiles" couldn't tell the diff.

  • Reason rewired into Ableton Live kicks ass and is a lot more flexible then

M-Powered Pro Tools... your tune sounds pretty good though. Nice little studio man...

  • i have a question if i just want to do solo recording, without MIDI interfaces, i just have my Behringer Xenyx 1222fx and using FL Studio for producing and MIxcraft for recording, do i need a M-Box to use my microphone? i have it hooked up to my mixer and its a AT-2020 NON USB. but i do have a INPUT/OUTPUT USB to my pc. i just need to know if i need to buy an M-AUDIO for simple recording, and great studio btw, i want to get those monitors you have.

  • @Icee011 You don't need and an "M Box" an "M Box is only used with Pro Tools 8 and below. Pro Tools 9 doesn't need any external hardware to use. If you have a way to input your microphone into your recording software then you're good to go. You can either buy a usb adapter so you can plug it into your computer or you can buy a audio interface with microphone inputs and conncet that to your computer. You don't need an M Audio you can buy any brand of interface that suits your needs and budget

  • i hear kinda much echo

  • Nice setup Macc. Dude i got one question. I seen u cut the volume up on your mixer so im assuming u got your monitors hooked to it, but besides that, what other role or roles if any does your mixer play in the setup? Do you do any mixing on it?

  • @3trakman3 With my mixer i can connect a smaller mic to my end and i can talk to the person in the booth and they will hear me through there headphones, but other than that i do all my mixing via Po Tools. My mixer has no other function but to act as a bridge between all my equipment. Mixers are a big help in some setup by mine my mixer does very little but it helps a LOT.

  • very kewl

  • you know

  • What is the definition of a beat? Throughout all of my years of musical training from playing in concert and and marching band in grammar and high school, to college and my professional career I always thought that a beat is:

    a. To strike so as to produce music or a signal: beat a drum.

    b. Music to mark or count (time or rhythm), especially with the hands or with a baton.

If you are producer call it an arrangement not a beat unless it i just percussion.

  • @weaponx66 well an arrangement is whats on the screen, the "beat" is the actual music, because the music has drums in it and in hip hop the drum is what produces the rhythm of verse and hip hop music is based off a rhythmic drum cadence which rappers use to produce a chanting or poetry presented in 16 bar measure time frame, So your right a beat is based of a drum sound but in order to understand why in hip hop its called a beat. You need to undertand hip hop, which i clearly see your lacking.

  • @weaponx66 lol, arrangement dont sound gangsta, fool.

  • so is that interface good i am a beginner

  • @marinebound100 it's good but there are better. I'm looking to upgrade to the M Audio I/O mix it's like an external mixer that controls Pro Tools and i heard its a alot better as an interface.

  • That was good....You know

  • nice setup man!!!

  • LEAVE THE DUDE ALONE BROS. EVRYONE IS USUALLY POOP WHEN STARTING MAKING BEAT. AND YOU CAN TELL WHOS A BIGINNER SHEESH

  • your setup is just the job but that room seems to have quite a bit of 'echo' and wet acoustics if you know what I mean. How do the vocals work out for you when you're using that mic in that room? of course I can't judge from the other side of the atlantic on youtube so maybe it's just me lol great video! :-)

  • rofl, u r totally out, shity music, great prof sony headphones :D , really good nearfield monitors, you know you know , lol

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman the guitar sounds are ok but there is nothing like the sound of a real guitar in the studio. A real guitar will always sound better than a digital sound of a guitar

  • that beat sucked though

  • hey, ive been looking at buying a mac, but i was wondering if theres a really big difference, perfomancewise between the i mac3,06 GHz and the macbook pro 2.4GHz?

    thanks

  • @mcram3r if you want portability get the macbook if you want a desktop get the imac. Both are gfreat computers but the 3.06 is faster. The 2.4 is no snail though it's a fast computer for a laptop and your music needs. I tell what you dont need to buy. The Beats by Dr. Dre laptop that thing is way too expensive for what you need to do. It's a waste.

  • @IBMaccMartelli how much is all this worth i got only $5,000 to invest in my music

  • @ronnymanz get a macbook or something equal to the power of a macbook, get a DAW, a condenser mic and MIDI controller you should only spend around 3 or 4 grand. I spent around 7 because i built mine from the table up.

  • @ronnymanz and i also have stuff for music that i didn't show so yeah you can spend 5 and get a good setup.

  • @IBMaccMartelli hey wht is the best program to use with imac i think i'll get one but i dun like pro tool it looks hard right now i'm using windows and i use Adobe audition 3.0.1

  • Ok, so I've had a ton of issues w/ recording software. I have Sonar Cakewalk 7 Homestudio Edition. I like the way it's all mapped out, and seems very easy to use. I have a lexicon interface. I can't seem to get everything synced up correctly, theres alot of noise in the head phones, the click track is distorted and poppy. I have a feeling its because I'm on an HP laptop, and that it really can't handle it. i've been thinking of just biting the bullet, buying this mac that you have. Would i ...

  • ...be able to still use the Sonar and Lexicon, or would I need to buy a different interface. I know the Mac has garage band, but i really want to use SOnar. Any tips?

  • @IBMaccMartelli Fair enough

  • no offence but you shouldn't have a mic against a wall because when u sing/rap whatever it'll bounce off the wall and go back into the mic :L

  • @whatsuphomedog1 i just did that to show the mic, i have a booth.

  • @IBMaccMartelli yea but do u mix accurately in there???

  • you know, you know, you know

  • lol .you dont always need a mixer...to record get a at4060 microphone that comes with the power supply box ..microphone stand ..preamp /eq compressor and headphones ..also mac computer ..thats all u need ..am i right bro? u cant say im not right ..im not hatin ur shits fresh ..but u dunt need a mixer to record..u can mix it down thorugh ur recording program

  • @joeysthoughts thats what i said. LMAO

  • im lookin to start a studioo and i have a few questions.......

    1.do you need a mixer ?

    2.if so why >?

  • @murkinfamm you always need a mixer. Does it have to be used for mixing? No. you can use your mixer just to be use as a router so you can have more controls for sound, but usually you'll do all your mixing in your DAW.

  • thats one flashy setup

  • i had the same mixer but i kept getting like a line of noise and it ruined my recordings

  • banging studio bro,had one question whats the differences between imac n ipro? am thinking of getting an iMac for ma studio as well ,cuz heard its better dont get slow ,better sound quality n faster so its better than a PC?thanks

  • when i saw your equipment i thought you knew what you were talking about, but as soon as you started comparing the pro tools mixer to the "big studios with the producer and the mixer and all the knobs and shit," i decided you didn't really

  • It's a shame your room sounds so terrible:S If I can tell just from a low-quality YouTube video, that's a bad thing. Either relocate or buy lots of acoustic treatment, if possible:/ Not a bad setup, otherwise, though. Enjoy!

  • Doesn't your interface have audio outs for your monitors ?

  • that micz dope

  • Damn homie that room sounds horrible, get some acoustic treatment and bass traps in there. Other than that nice setup.

  • lol nice description of note repeat !!!

  • when u step and talk in ur room ucan hear an echo you need padding on the walls..it helps that

  • One would think that with all that equipment, you should be able to make some good music.

But you clearly lack the talent.

  • DAVE CIRINO WAS THE REASON I MADE A HOME STUDIO

  • your room sounds really bright, should definitely consider putting some baffling up.

  • hey man nice vid... but isnt that the akai mpd26?

  • @zacandmusic its the MPD 32

  • hey man nice vid... but isnt that the akai mpd 26?

  • u shud consider raising those monitors to ur ear level and align them in a triangle. And get some basetrapping and u'll do good.

  • @Bobbyjay1974 oh yeah man u good ! ill recomend u to buy an external harddrive just to make sure u dont loss data like proyects .....and of course a midi controller THATS IT SON ! lol

  • I really love the table. I want one like that

  • @Bobbyjay1974 yes thats fine, just don't run any programs while your running logic and you'll be good.

  • @IBMaccMartelli im starting a home studio. I got my mic and stuff im getting my midi pads and keybaord and mixer and stuff for my b-day and christmas....what kinda mixer do u recommend and how much was yours???

  • @ihavelunch you really dont need a mixer, all my mixing is done on the DAW i only use the mixer to route sound from the computer to my studio monitors, i know theres ways to do it without getting a mixer but a small mixer will do just fine a mixer like mine will cost around $100 - $160 anything over 200 is fine but for something in your house is overkill

  • @IBMaccMartelli orr...oh ok kewl and thnx...also im lookin at gettin that akai 32....would u recommend it???

  • @ihavelunch yeah the mpd 32 is great, it works good with recycle 2.1 if you get an mpd 32 get recycle 2.1 too.

  • That looks like my studio minus the Akai hardware. Good shit homie. I love the set up. I even have the same glass desk. lol Keep doin ya thang!

  • yo your studio got class yo its hot love the glass table

  • you ever notice the people that hate real or say your music sucks or there better than you they never have any uploads at all to prove there point, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check out my studio video there's a lot of info for anyone who wants to learn.

  • word of advive that interface you use throw it away n inbox me if you need better options

  • i can hear reverb pick up in the room. It needs treatment, whether it's thicker curtains and a book shelf to acoustin foam or bass traps, u gotta throw something in that room, behind ur mic stand too and the corners. Also, just a tip, if the MPK has the same features as the MPD and u don't like ur monitors very much, sell the MPD and purchase better monitors. Just a suggestion.

  • now for the music production system that was on your tabel when u press a button and it plays a beat u were talking about it about 2 minutes into the video what software do u need to program that like do u need cubase, fruity loops, logic, pro tools because in the future i'm interested in buying one

  • @DjPeaceDestroyer all you have to do is match the program on the MPK to the program your using, so yeah i guess in other word you have to program it but if you have the mpk it's not that hard.

  • I have a 1 ghz PC, with 500 mb of RAM, attached with low quality speaker cables to my shitty logitech computer speakers, and my music still sounds better than yours.

  • i learned all my shit from that niga david crinino too lol i got the same setup as him like exact same thing...........apogee duet......blue bird.....akg c300b..........motif........novation 25.........imac 21".........dell desktop.........closet booth with wal mart foam.........se relection filter...............logic studio........but i got fl studio instead of cubase for my windows......only thing i dont have is the turntables

  • Need help I always wanted to make beats and get into that. I'm about to buy a new computer I was thinking the 27 in iMac but I'm not sure on what I need to make beats and.. I wanted to know is it posible to make beats digitle all on the computer sampling and evrything

  • Nice studio...Im workin on my own right now but all i got so far is a Shure Mic, M-audio Axiom 25, Nd FL Studio 9 XXL...lol i just need an interface and some good speakers and maybe a drum machine.

  • Is th iMac a Good Computer For producing or do you recommend a computer with a newer processor (intel core i7)?

  • @MegaTimmyy my imac is great for it, if you get an i7 thats even better, but you can pull it off with an i5 with good RAM, i got the imac because it looked good and it'll do the job

  • @MegaTimmyy core i7 or amd 965 be will be fine most music software only use two cores.

  • yeh room needs treated big time :)

  • @riskybusiness80 For real! His room is empty and thus, there's reverb everywhere! His speakers are facing a corner and is very near to the wall...and not at ear level for near fields. It's miraculous how he even gets a half-way decent mix down in that room. The room acoustics are horrible; the high end through the monitors are ringing!

  • M-Audio ProjectMix

  • what audio card do you use M-audio ??

  • yo many tracks can u have on ur pro tools m powered? i have pro tools le 7.4 n cud only have 30 i cant have more n i need moreee shit sucks

  • I dont think a glass table is the best choice in studios regarding cables sweet setup if you chuck some foam under your monitors youll get greater sound:)

  • nice thing

  • i know

  • How much did all this cost? (not including headphones, computer)

  • Nice setup, but one thing I would really recommend is treating that room with some acoustic pads. Throw some rugs down, and some bed foam or something up on the walls. You can hear alot of reverb in your room. But other than that, nice setup.

  • stuff dusty...lol good shit man

  • stuff dusty...lol good shit man

  • i want the akai mpd32

  • Dude get the mixing room acoustically treated. I know it is not your booth but still, all that noise ain't good while processing sound.

  • oh and also, when the new haircut11 dude mentioned the echo in your room, even though you have a booth, when you listen back to your mixes, you're probably going to hear all the sounds bouncing off the walls, and it may fuck with the sound of ur mix... just my opinion though :)

  • lmao i've got a firewire solo interface, and i got the firewire solo cause....i'm solo ahahahaha cool gear man!

  • lmao i've got a firewire solo interface, and i got the firewire solo cause....i'm solo ahahahaha cool gear man!

  • all i need is my roland fantom

  • my behringer usb thing never worked ... i use my audio interface's - - -

    Check my studio videos

  • i got logic, check my vid...

  • do you like those fostex speakers ??

  • @NanzooMusic no i can definitely do better but for now they're good i don't recommend them

  • that imac is nice.. i love mine too... it would handle the job for recording bro... No worries .... quadcore would be nice but the good thing about these is that we can upgrade the ram memory up to 16gb.

  • download reaper,its free,you wont regret it.

  • it's free for 30days, then you must pay 60$

  • hey i try to record in cool edit and my vocals be late as fuck bro like they be off beat u got any advice?

  • hey man u should build a vocal booth i can hear the echo. It would make the vocals sound much better and u can do it for cheap too

  • i have a booth and it's all good, i only had the mic in the room for the video but i have a good booth

  • lol, nice studio man, check mine out, almost the same. But definitely try out logic and if you are looking to ever upgrade from that m-audio unit, just out the apogee duet. Built for macs!

  • i looked at davidthegreat too

  • Nice studio. Our set up is similar except that I have the 1999 version of you 2010 studio. Lol. Keep bangin them beats out

P.s. U got to try that logic. It works with reason and it got a very large library. 80 gigs worth.

  • I'd go with Logic Pro too.

  • Nice spot, nice tour, nice beat

The room sounds really lively, have thought about treating the walls? I like all the natural light!

I use Reason and Cakewalk on PC.

    Good clean fun.

    Blessings,

    Scott
