  • i swear no matter how many times i listen to this song she always amazes me with that high note at the end (:

  • Gosh, she was so talented. I used to dance around with my sister to this music at my grandma's house. Oh, southern living. I wish I grew up in this time of great singers and mind blowing talent

  • we love you patsy

  • i love her sooooooooooo much!!!!!!! this is my favorite song ever!!!!!:)

  • Wonderful Voice!!!

  • effortlessly breathtaking

  • Ahh, She blew that room away !

  • That high note at the end!! awesome!

  • Was that Eddie Arnold introducing Patsy?

  • @bayonnetenor

Yes, that is Country Legend Eddy Arnold.

  • Ahh I love Patsy. This is my favorite one by her and Hank. By the way 7 people have the love sick blues

  • How I love her so.

  • Her voice is like a warm knife through cold butter.

  • I wish she and Hank could have done a duet with this one.

  • when she sang a song, you believe what she was singing about.

  • body like a butterfly, lungs like a Peterbilt truck

  • @jfsa380 lol

  • absolutely astounding song and remarkable ending! even an old english steam whistle couldn't hit that note

  • @jfsa380

damn straight. i grew up on an eclectic mix of music and one of the things i liked about country was the low budget tv sets that in no way interfered with the talent. it was finding a radio station way down the dial you didn't know was there and hearing something like this that made the world at the same time bigger and more intimate. thank you, Patsy.

  • @jfsa380 I'm sure there are opera stars who would have killed to have the vocal range Patsy had!

  • FUCK THE 6 DISLIKERS

  • I love the way she folds her arm and puts the other to her face like....YAWN, I could sing this in my sleep! She was the ONE & ONLY

  • @Onry1 LOL! That was my reaction too. But don't forget that this cllip also gives us a good look at her beautiful radiant smile when she finished and thanked the audience. Too often these clips don't let us see that. By most reports,

  • What astonishing vocal control.

  • @WaterCottage that's exactly what I was just thinking. Wow!

  • Just two word's OH MY!!!!!!! I wish we had talent like this today.

  • Makes it look so easy, great music

  • I can't stop listening to this. I've tried to practice it myself, but Pasty puts in such a flawless performance, she's beyond comparison! R.I.P. With much Love and Respect.

  • @SuicidalBunny0 She died in a plane crash in March of 1963.

  • woow...this is hot.

  • She was simply the best

  • She did it like it took nothing.

  • Always great to see footage of Miss Cline!

  • Beautyful , Holy matramony this is GREAT , see the motion picture ,SWEET DREAMS, whit Jessica Lange as Patsy Cline a greate biografie from the golden voice of the eurly 50''ts

  • Damn!

  • So amazing

  • Two giants of Country music in this video:

    Eddy Arnold and Patsy Cline!

  • music is done my computers now and it all fake. your voice could sound like s*** but you still make millions. then music is real good and NOT done by computers and its 10 times better!! so to ladygaga and justin bieber etc you voices suck!! (:

  • This is seamless and intricate. I've never heard this woman sing before watching this and I have to say she can sing miles around anyone doing that "quote-unquote"country today.

  • Much too fast. She did much better on the community Jamboree with Ferlin Husky.

  • Comment removed

  • Nicely done, not as good as Hank Williams of course but pretty damn good.

  • While I appreciate the visual of this live performance much prefer the vocals of "crazy4patsycline" version which also shows a live show from "Community Jamboree" in 1960.

  • amazing!

  • You Know That They Had To Remember Their Song Lyrics WithOut Help . Not Like How It Is Done Today With The Muzik Playing And The HeadFone In Their Ear .. You Had To Have REAL Talent Back Then .

  • A lovely singer and a very good "hit", she must be the best countrysinger! Very sorry she is dead, just to young! Ewa, Sweden

  • Such an awesomely talented woman she was...so raw and pure!

  • Brilliant version! Thanks for uploading :)

  • Everyone likes Patsy's slow ballads. But fast tunes like this are what SHE WANTED to sing. The Record companies kept pushing the slow stuff on her to appeal to Pop-Crossover folks. But Patsy liked to Yodel and Growl. Listen to her early records- to me that is the REAL Patsy Cline. She sang a lot more than just "Crazy".

  • An. Aww...that's Beautiful Patsy, just beautiful...I tell you what...., I hope that song sells like Hot Cakes!!...P.C. i just hope it sells like Records...

  • Ginny, a legend.

  • de donde saca este material ya no se consigue!!!

  • loved that..but the last thing she said gave me the willies.she introduced Cowboy Copas who died along with her in the crash

  • that's so good, it hurts

that's what they should put on TV. Right now. Forget about dumb reality shows, just let us see awesome stuff like above.

  • This has to be in the fifty's when I was a little boy.

When I was 8 very few people had tv's. Look at your local tv stations, how long they been on. (will be early or middle 50's) Like the song and she is great.

  • They probably jacked up the tempo for the TV producers. The "suits" were saying "yeah, the girl's got 2 minutes to do the song - make it fit!"

    That's showbiz!

  • Oh my gosh, why did they rush this so? She still kilt it though.

  • @applesomething Actually, I like this version. It seems like a great deal of the time her voice was running at only "half power," and in this one, she gets the opportunity to really let it rip!

  • Always good

  • i can't express how much this woman means to me musically.

  • Comment removed

  • Howly crap,. She sings a bit to fast for me, but that high octaav on the end. I heard only ones such a high octave from a little boy in Sister Act. Terrific

  • Check out that octave yodel!!!! Holy crap!

  • Too fast.

  • It's perfect. No offense to you.

  • No offended.

It's not a criticism of Patsy. I doubt that she was the one who arranged the rendition. It would have been better if she had done it slower. The tempo is rushed compared to HW, and her great voice was best exhibited with tempo's exampled on Crazy and I Fall to Pieces.

    Note the comment by "droomvanger1974"

If it's perfect to you - no problem. That's just what you like.

  • you're right about her voice. It is better on slower tempo songs. I love Patsy Cline! She ill never be matched!!

  • @laurelfan1 Funny you should mention that. "Crazy" written by Willie Nelson, was presented to Patsy Cline as an up tempo song. She disagreed, later recording it slowly, and Willie apologized to her.

  • @shazbat1 Wow! I didn't know that. That's a really interesting piece of information.

  • Gee, she's not skinny, no backup dancers or singers, no overdubs......Nothin' but pure talent!!!!!

  • Why are you saying thats she is not skinny.

  • I mean she looks like a beautiful, normal sized lady! No need to try and compete with skimpily dressed, no talent Skinny chicks! A lot of the modern singers get by on overdubs and showing off their bodies. Patsy puts them all to shame by being a super talented lady who kept her clothes on and belts out a gorgeous, full, natural voice!

  • Comment removed

  • lol she lays it down like theres nuthin to it!! she was talent.

  • By God, she got into it! That is why she is "Patsy Cline!" She is my people!

  • Makes great singing seem effortless.

  • "Let's take it home" I just love that...she looked so happy. A genuine smile!

  • She could sing the phone book and it would be great.

  • i know rite!

  • @THEHORNBECK123 Agreed

  • The Best ever!

  • i dont like when people change lyrics...but in her case she can do whatever she wants lol

  • but hank didnt wrote this song

  • Cowboy Copas was on the plane with patsy when it crashed

  • It's nice to see Eddy Arnold again. Patsy too, of course

  • i no a girl who sings EXACTLY like patsy. rare rare talent

  • A talent like this is rare.

  • I love you Patsy Cline!!! Forever!!

  • A: Aww, that's beautiful Patsy, just beautiful...I tell you what, I hope that record sells like Hotcakes...

P.C. : I just hope it sells like Records...

    A : Haa, Haa, Haa...

  • Patsy is a synonim for perfection!

  • She NAILED this. Of course, she nailed every song she sang.

  • Nice song by Patsy Cline......thanks for sharing.

  • lovesit

  • Jay Brannan=Jesus.

  • Lol. Where did bringing Jay into this come from?

  • he linked me to this video.

  • i know i saw it on his twitter.... lmfao

  • Elle ne force même pas sur sa voix... incroyable !! Excellente !

  • Oh I love this song! Her voice is flawless!

  • No effort at all, it is amazing to see

  • Patsy Cline sings this better than Hank Williams. Miss you , Patsy1

  • This is fantastic- thanks so much for sharing this!

  • Lovesick Blues is one of my favorite songs of Patsy. It's simply amazing!! I can't get enough of the studio version, it rocks so much and I looove her yodel!

  • P.S. Just heard the last few seconds of the video and heard Patsy introducing Cowboy Copas who, I believe, also perished with her in that terrible plane crash...how ironic and sad.

  • This was before her record company made her tone her yodel way down...loved Patsy's yodel! RIP beautiful lady.

  • top gal

  • I have her studio recorded version of this song of course but have never heard her do it Live - she was just great and thank you for posting this hard-to-find TV spot - she was ahead of her time for sure.

  • Wow...Wow...Wow!!! What a gal!! :-) x

  • She doesn't need fancy costumes, fancy lighting, fancy camera work, fancy hair, fancy sex-appeal, or fancy make-up (like everyone else today). Her voice stands alone.

  • I could not add anymore to that....but so true

  • The Cline will never be outdone.None of these so-called country singers today have half the talent that Patsy had in her little finger. For that matter, there really isn't a singer alive who can match her. She's right up there with Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. We love you Patsy.

  • There are some good versions of "Lovesick Blues" but this beats them all! Love, love, love it, thanks so much for posting!

  • "Lovesick Blues" is not an easy song to sing, but Patsy cuts through it like a hot knife through butter. Just an incredibly amazing talent who was born to do exactly what she did!

  • Yes she was something else. More than country and that voice wes sooooo goood

  • Patsy voice was beyound catagory, sang country but was soooo much more...Native Detroiter grew up on 60s motown and jazz, But Ms Cline was something else

  • happy happy joy joy .

But they were both taken ' too soon' .

  • Me too I love her voice.

  • I LOVE HER TWANG AND THE WAY SHE DID HER THING SHE IS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THEE BEST SINGER TO LISTEN AND SING ALONG WITH.

I LOVE PATSY her voice is so wonderful. THANK you So much for the post, from the bottom of my love sick blue heart thank you.

  • Too bad there had never been a duet between Patsy Cline and Buddy Holley

  • Cowboy Copas died in the same plane crash that killed Patsy. :( Hawkshaw Hawkins died in the crash, too.

  • dang, she's good

  • i love her too and im only 15 lol (: x

  • wonderful

    terrific vocal from patsy

    love that decor as well

  • I can see how this song could sound better if it wasn't going so fast in this version; Patsy could've done a little more yodeling. But still, I really enjoy seeing how adept she was on stage, along with her voice. She really knows just how to use her arms and her body as she approaches the climax of the song, to accompany that fantastic high note she hits so expertly.

  • love her and im only 17 lol

  • Kelly Carpenter has great rendition of this song from "Always Patsy Cline" on YouTube. They both have incredible abilities.

  • One of my favourite songs driven till the extasis. Super Patsy Cline. Greeting from Spain.

  • She loved hittin that high note! She's so good it's freaky.

  • Another great performance from a woman with great pipes. You just have to love this. So sad to see another great talent die in a plane crash. How many gifted people have those flying machines claimed? Take care Patsy, you will be fondly remembered.

  • i can't believe i'm reading that she'd done this song better than this!?!? holy crud! this performance blew me away!!! as well as the audience, apparently. they'd probably never been exposed to such a huge talent/voice before!

    only Patsy....

  • Her performance was great, but I just cant stand that outfit she has on. Its not at all stage clothes. It looks more like June Cleaver singing a Country tune after puttin' The Beaver to bed.

  • She sang this song much better when she was a bit younger. This version is a poor substitute without a lot of feeling. IMO

  • Thats kinda silly to say. This is just a different version of the song. The band is playin' it way too fast in the tempo, and she is such a great singer shes able to keep them from running a muck. Also she recorded the same song about the same age as she is in the video. I sure hope she told that band off afterwards!

  • i love this song and i love to sing this song to wow she is great

  • I love her yodelling!! I love this song!

  • It can't get any better than The Cline!! RIP Patsy, we love you Hoss!

  • dnt care bout da negative comments, cus dis i'll tell u all, she was, da BEST, still is, da BEST and she'll 4evr b da BEST

  • This is the worse performance I have ever seen from Ms Cline.

And it's STILL 10 times better than 99% of anything else you'll ever hear.

  • I think a few people misunderstood your post.

  • Judging from all the thumbs down, I think you're right. :)

  • Then yer on drugs. Never seen her perform a bad one. She was tops in any style as a singer, and any clip I have ever seen!

  • my mate sam told me this was out of tune, for a 17year old who only listens to metal really he cannt comment,he doesnt appreciate country or the fact that patsy has a helpful talent in country music to break her voice like a yodel.shes always been my idol,my mum played her records constantly when she was pregnant with me and ive loved her music scince i can remember so maybe that rubbed off on me lol.thanks for posting this.starting a country career myself i use her songs regularly!PATSY RULES

  • Your mate is an idiot. The Cline was never out of tune! They could tune a piano to HER voice.

  • She is the most awesome singer of all time! I just love her!

  • God why did she have to leave us. She'd still be going full tilt to this day.

She had what only a rare few performers in history have had from the first time she sang. It was all there and she didn't change a bit from the before & on the Arthur Godfrey Show. She didn't need to because just as Jolson, Judy Garland & only 1 or 2 I can't really think of, Patsy has "It" She was headed for bigger things than even her big confident self could have dreamed. Damn that ass of a Mgr of her & his plane!

  • Absolutely no decible she can't manhandle, brilliance in motion...Miss Patsy Cline. That's my Gal and the stuff of legends. Love you Patsy. she leaves studs like Hank W., Tony R. and the like wanting. Only Jim R. could compete and thankfully he tried

  • i love this song.she's got the greatest voice.while everyone else likes that hip hop,i love the oldies.:]gotta love em

  • Sadly, she died alongside Cowboy Copas in that crash from 1963.

  • WOW!!!!!!!she sings that thing great!! She does it just as good as Hank! Wow!!

  • Patsy crossed all barriers. She was a true gift to the world. We are better for having had her in it.

What a voice she had, and isn't it nice that she was never involved in scandals, and nothing negative ever said about her. A true class act, in every way.

  • I'm in my early twenties and while a lot of kids my age don't like this type of music, I am so grateful that my dad exposed me to it. I can't imaging going through life without ever listening to music this awesome!!

  • Thanks for the wonderful live footage of one of the great singers but I am predujice because I am from her hometown, Winchester, I will add this one among my favorites also.

  • WOW!! Excellent! Thanks for the post! Great to see videos of her performing!

  • Absolutely incredible!

  • Eddy Arnold, the host, who just passed away this year (2008).

This clip is quite early from her career... her look and her style owe more to the 1940's than to the 1960's.

  • A Great Woman with susch a special voice thanks for sharing this one

    5*

    Jim

  • the Real Stuff!!!.....

  • Chill bump alert! AWESOME!!! :D

  • Omy Lord! Thanks so much for sharing this! Amazing! Shelly

  • AWESOME!!

  • She made it seem effortless.

I'm loving all of your Patsy videos...Thanks so much!
