  • Great review. Very informative. Now to get the game! :)

  • I'd like to note that the reviewer owns the first English print of the game, as my components are slightly different than his. The money in the most recent print run are now made of cardboard, and look a lot nicer than the painted wooden money. And the 8th card is only available through boardgamegeek.

I personally enjoy the game, and with judicious play should keep the love going for awhile. Now if only I could get a local group to play with more than 4 people.

  • @Tobimar I've seen both the cardboard and the painted money and prefer the wooden myself. But to each his own.

  • @Drekster2001 sorry and anyway im busy

  • Dude, great review, Ryan! If I wasn't a poor student then I'd be all over this game!

  • Solid review, Ryan. Looks like a fun game.

  • Ok come on gang up on me

  • @stuffwithpetr

    Looking for attention much? :P

Maybe you should be doing your own reviews as you promised in the (only!) video of your channel... tsk tsk...

(is this ganging-up enough for ya :))

  • Nice review. I'm going to use it as a rules guide when I buy the game in a month or two. You're a quality guest reviewer, Ryan.

  • @Bimkovitz Thank you!

  • @stuffwithpetr I agree with you entirely. However, he can't review everything, so I do my best to keep up!

  • @stuffwithpetr That's kinda unfair to say. Tom is very busy with all the reviews he does and his work and family and such. He can't truly be expected to review everything all the time. I don't mind the guest reviewers and I think Ryan does a great job.

  • I don't care much for this review. He really doesn't give me a good feel for the game. And he speaks like it's a little of everything as far as mechanics. I don't know what to believe.

  • @PantyhoseLos Sorry it wasn't for you. All of the mechanics I go over are included, and it is a little of everything.

  • Good review man, look forward to more of them

  • Good review I got the "limited" edition at Essen 2010 plays well although is easy to get burnout of it if overplayed.

Overall a well balanced game that scales well to 7 players and plays quickly quite odd for a Euro

  • Great review!

Personally I don't enjoy the extended rule breakdown and play by play, and the meat for me comes at 9:47, final breakdown, but definitely a very valuable look into the game.

  • Hey Ryan, you are somebody I can appreciate besides Tom.

  • @gagawolala Thank you very much! You have no idea how much that is appreciated.

  • Math nerd comment: The increase in points is not exponential but quadratic.

  • @anotherelvis Very good! Thats the word I was looking for while doing it...oh well, can't remember them all.

  • Great review! It's a cool game to introduce non-gamers to more complex boardgames. Will Dice Tower review FFG's Mansions of Madness, too?

  • @rashktah I honestly couldn't tell you. I myself do not have access to a copy, although I'd be willing to bet Tom does. As to whether or not he will review it, and when, I cannot comment.

  • Good! You re-uploaded it as a shorter version. Great review!

  • Good review. It looks like a simple game after you've played it a few times, but it looks like there is lot of stuff to explain. Well, we have just played it ~15 times or so and we are not bored yet, though i feel like it can be. I was probably hoping for a more random game, than using same cards every time. But it is still fun and it is always hard to predict who is winning, which is always a bit of drawback for me as i don't know when i have to push it or just relax. Waiting for Leaders exp.;)

  • After a dozen plays I am pretty bored with it already. More variety of cards would help. Hopefully expansions will make it better. It feels to me something like playing Dominion with the same 10 cards over and over again.

  • I liked the video, thanks!

  • Really great review! Now I can't wait to pick up my own copy of this game! What brand of sleeves do you use for your board game cards?

  • @coffeemunsterr It really depends on the game. I usually go with Fantasy Flight card sleeves, or UltraPro. These, when I bought them, were the only sleeves on the market for 7 Wonders, and are thus Mayday sleeves.

  • The fixed video is up now...this time no repeats! I hope you all enjoy!
