this is terrible.....RockyPoint held alot of wondeful memorys for alot of people and to have it torn down is heartbreaking...I remember going there as a kid, riding the flume with that stinky water lol....the sound of the corkscrew, the smell of the fried food in the air....just all around a great time...its too bad the park had to be shut down...I will always and forever remember RockyPoint and it will be missed..
i went until the end,and made trips back several times since it closed.when i went in 2002,all the old buildings were still standing,i walked thru the park with a friend, and we reminiced about its glory days, all the while looking around at what nature and vandals had done to the park,it was terrible,an awful feeling.at the end of the rocky point movie, when the demolition is happening,i can never contain the tears.here i am,a 33 year old crying like a baby every time i see it.
My first visit was at age 10 in 1970 and have a B"W photo taken at the photo booth there and posted on youtube called marks past. Well we will never see this RP that we knew again but we will have the memories forever and stories to tell. Thanks for posting this.
As sad as this is, it is a relief to have them gone. Rocky Point had a personality and seeing these buildings in the state they were in was awful. Like seeing an old family dog die a slow miserable death.....

I remember my friends and I dropping acid as young hippies in the late 60`s and going to Rocky Point to go on the rides! What a blast we had there!

What years did he work there? How much did those workers make anyway?Minimum wage?

I believe he worked there from '94 to '96 when the park closed. I don't really know how much he got though.

Hope he found a good job after that?

Yeah, he worked at the Bay Commission for a while and he said he liked it. :]
