yes as Undertaker/Mankind Hell in a Cell from King of the Ring 98 was just a 2-3 spot match with Foley almost killing himself and the fans in disbelieve. That was a shock value HIAC thats why the fans loved it. Undertaker/Edge Hell in a Cell had great psychology of the using the cage in the match having them use weapons in inovative ways and a great way for the feud to end.

hmm, I will say that taker/edge hiac will be #2 match of the year behind michaels/flair at wm. But over taker/mankind, I mean when taker/mankind heppened no one had ever seen that type of shit b4, and it hasn't happened since. And yes, 3 big spots really, but they were fucking HUGE.

I think a match has many aspects to be rated and that just shows the flaws in the star rating because in reality Khali could never have a match equal to any of Joe's or Booker's. But I think since TNA has the ability to give 3 or 4 stars matches on almost(yes even Dutt vs. Jay couldve been 3 stars) every ppv match reviewers rate the matches differently.

Khali and HHH was as good as the Intergender Tag? What did Khali do besides wobble around (aka not sell) and get tied up in ropes to dramatize the match as he does in every match. And how did Sonjay and Lethal get a DUD and Khalis match not get a DUD? I think your letting the whole tuxedo thing alter your judgement. Lethal and Dutt WRESTLED, Khali did NOTHING. You dont HATE TNA but I stopped your vid after you spoke on the HBK segment cause you're simply repeating samething as Jim.

Khali with his size isn't suppose to sell Andre didn't sell that good either. Khali played the role of the giant well and HHH made him believable as a top giant so the match did what it did and was allot better then what ppl thought it would have been. Lethal/Dutt was a DUD or not that good, one for the gimmick really hurt it ,and what they did was ok at also with a feud that is suppose to be a blood feud and they hate each other TNA makes them look like fuckin' idiots wearing the suits.

It wasnt better than I thought it would have been. Sure he told a great story but that only goes so far. Like you said ppl didnt expect it to be that good, but that shouldnt mean you give it a better rating then it deserves. Maybe thats why Dutt and Lethal werent even given ratings cause ppl know they can pull off a 4 star match but let the dumb gimmick with tuxedos TNA gave them over shadow their judgement. I may make a vid on how expectations screw over ratings. Dutt/Jay deserved a rating.

No people didn't rate the Khali/HHH match higher just because it delivered it was a enjoyable match and served its purpose and it was watchable a rating of a **-**1/2 is IMO a watchable match and was ok. Dutt/Lethal got a DUD or below a two cause it was shit not cause we knew they could do better.

Okay I guess I care more about wrestling than the entertainment aspect. To me I'd rather see Jay and Dutt brawl and actually wrestle in a poor match but AGAIN that included a good last 7 mins of wrestling and some alright brawling than watch Khali tell the same story for a 100th time.

Considering what this industry has and continues to do, wrestling ISN'T always the most important part to a wrestling match - why is this? Because doing maneuvers isn't wrestling. I admitted the gimmick was bad, but you don't have to just bash something that wasn't as bad as you think. Lethal/Dutt was between a 1 star and 2 star match. It was like a TV match. Nothing special but at least entertaining.

And I would agree with that. The match, to me, wouldn't warrant a DUD rating. There's only one match I would actually give that rating to and it happened almost 2 years ago. I still wouldn't call it "good" for the simple fact that it wasn't, it was moderately acceptable, which in itself is disappointing considering someone had to overbook these two for a storyline that really isn't as interesting as TNA would like to believe it as being.

Russo was just trying to go by the theme of the ppv, though he went the wrong way about it. It would have been better if it was just a chain match or instead had Joe/Booker T in a ladder match and Lethal and Dutt in Six Sides of Steel. Then the whole theme stays the same and Dutt/Lethal have a better match and the entire ppv is better overall. Plus the ladder match would work since it began in King of the Mountain and Booker T built it up for a TLC/Cage match. Would have been a little better.

And you're letting your bias of the TNA match that got a weaker rating get the best of whatever judgment people think you have. I don't understand how you look at things - that tuxedo match was bad. Why was it bad? Because the chain was in the way and took away from the concept of that tuxedo match. Why was it a bad chain match? Because the gimmick of stripping your opponent of his tuxedo was in the way.

If you walk into a match with a preconception, it's going to suck if it fails to meet those expectations. That wasn't the case for Lethal and Dutt considering it was an overall BAD GIMMICK MATCH. Pretty moves in a shit match still equate to a SHIT MATCH.

Again, wrestling is NOT about the maneuvers so much as it is the story. And the story of that match was pretty bad considering the gimmicks kept getting in the way.

And while we're on that point about the last 7 minutes of pretty spots - so I take it the fact the crowd at one point started chanting "fire Russo" shouldn't come into play of the rating of the match? The fact that the live crowd was shitting on the match and started chanting other things, that doesn't play in here at all? Khali's match didn't have a chant not related to the match - the fans weren't completely out of it, thus it should be seen as fair to give that a better rating by comparison.

They knew these guys could do better so they chanted "Fire Russo" cause they were being held back by this strap and tuxedo rule. Again though they still wrestled and if we're on the "story telling" argument it told a story with Val running off. Khali simply sucks so they chanted "you cant wrestle". Lets say that match with Dutt and Lethal was between Dreamer and Delaney you can bet your ass it woulda been given a rating. Expectations just come into play thats all..PEACE OUT HOMIE JIZZLE

He gave Khali/HHH the same rating as the Hard Justice Main Event, and again its bringing TNA as an example but I wasnt going to go investigate all his ratings so I simply looked at his last 2 reviews to compare the two and idk HOW THE HELL someone could think the Khali/HHH match was as good as 6 Sides of Steel Weapons Match. Again if they do its simply because they were FOR ONCE satisfied with a Khali match so due to it exceeding THEIR expectations they overrate it.

In what universe does Khali do the tangled in the ropes spots in every match? I don't recall seeing that against Duece and Domino, nor can I recall it from Backlash against Big Show. And if that's a detriment to a match, then why is it okay for AJ Styles to do a Pelle in every match? Was it acceptable for Angle to do so many overhead belly-to-belly release suplexes? Aren't those SPOTS that help them add suspense to a match?

I didnt mean literally he does the tangled spot every match, maybe I should've said MOST matches that aren't squash matches. But its sad when thats the highlight of his every match and it isnt a wrestling move its a stupid way (IMO) of Khali allowing the fans to realize perhaps his opponent CAN overcome the odds after all. Where as your example of AJ doing a Pele (U use TNA as an exampla again hmm) or even Jeff Hardy doing whisper in the winds, these are part of their WRESTLING move sets.

Andre was a beast in the industry who was a lot more mobile pre-Hulkamania, but everyone only knows of that era of Andre which is sad because it leads to unfair comparisons between him and Khali - a man who literally cannot bend at the joints to save his life.
