  • "...or masturbating or thinking about masturbating." Hilarious!

  • Great poem. But uncle sam aint hearin shit, and if your not making things change, then ur just talking shit. Either way, great delivery. A friend brought me here.

  • whats the name of this one?

  • @malkymaru for those who can still ride in airplanes for the first time (:

  • @IJustSawUPickUrNose lol thanks now i feel dumb i see it in the description

  • @malkymaru lol

  • that was effin sick. amazing.

  • he is awesome.

    whats the poem called?

its one of my favorites by Anis.

  • @jslobo3

its called "fort hose who can still can ride an airplane for the first time"

  • @jslobo3 for those who can ride an airplane for the first time

  • He is so amazing, it's absolutely ridiculous

  • I almost cried, wow.

  • What's this one called?

  • @mckoyjon I've been wondering the same thing, this one is my favorite, too.

  • @mckoyjon for those who can ride an airplane for the first time

  • Well, I like this version better than Def Poetry (:

  • This dude leaves me speachless with his poems every time. "Anis Mojgani at The Seattle Grand Slam 2006" is a great vid, shows three of my favorite poems of his.

  • this is really stupid. his voice is totally shot. i can barely hear him. its also one of the most pretentious poems ive ever heard.

  • @zackthal -- go hide under a rock.

  • @zackthal. "Pretentious"? That word is the most antonymous word you could have used to depict this poem and poet. Look at him, he's the perfect vessel to carry the poem that is bigger than he is.

  • @YourEpic "he's the perfect vessel to carry the poem"? Yeah sounds like you might be a little pretentious yourself there buddy. Its just a poem, not a spiritual awakening. I find the poem to be pretty random, hes just ranting.

  • @zackthal. I laugh at you.

  • @zackthal meet the man, and then talk about him

  • @zackthal id LOVE to see you rant as lyrically as he does.

  • @zackthal how can you say it's a random poem? the first thing that comes out of his mouth literally tells you what he's talking about. I'm not even going to bother with how closed minded you seem. I use the word "seem" not "are" because i understand that theres more to people than what you can blatantly see, which is something that you SEEM incapable of understanding

  • @zackthal Pretentious means you use words you don't know the meaning of...which I think you just did...his voice is shot because he is so dedicated to his poetry...think about the meaning behind the poetry...think abstractly and with passion...

  • i just fell in love

  • Does anyone know what the poem he performs is called? its so amazing

  • @karlie555 I am pretty sure the name of this poem is, "for those who can ride in an airplane for the first time"-- its good stuff.

  • Dude, this just took the place of my favorite poem by him.

  • "...And I want to find God. In the morning, in the tired hands of dusk"

  • Thank you, Anis.

  • Thank you, Anis. Thank you.

  • Thank you, Anis. Thank you.

  • even the breath croaking back into his lungs sounds like magic

  • Ahhhhhhhhh. So gooooood.

  • brilliance!

  • this guy fuckin rocks

  • geez, this one always gives me goosebumps & kinda makes me wanna tear up when hes talking about wanting children to stay pure forever

  • Slow down, Quentin.

  • this crowd is full of sheep, if i was there i would wish they would shut the fuck up and listen!

  • Sheep?

  • @ravenmartinesquire they cheer over most of his set , skipping alot of his lines and bars, they know what they are hearing is sick, but they dont know why, his deliever is ill, but if your into his words , you would not cheer or clap over them, unless you didnt get them , or you were a sheep and just jumped on the cheer train , like in MIB, with Will Smith when he is trying out with the otherguys when everyone "was really psyched, but they had no idea why they were there" or what was going on.

  • Ah I get what you're saying. I watch some of his poems on youtube and I get all pumped, but then I watch them again and I catch stuff that I missed before, so I get what you mean. By the way, MIB reference FTW!

  • this version's much clearer. I might like it better than any other i've heard.

    =)

  • fuck i can't handle how good he is

  • goosebumps...

  • boss status

  • Fire.

  • Comment removed

  • HE IS GOOD

  • powerful words.

  • i know he was losing his voice durring this performance, but i love his voice

    and his poetry

    he's amazing

  • Mmm

  • every time i have heard this poem, it has changed slightly. i know that he shortened it for def poetry because of time restrains but still...

  • if you deem the quality of a poem on a single word and its usage, you clearly are looking for the wrong things.

  • Rev-

    You're ridiculous...

  • thank you!

  • wow, just wow

  • What's so great about this guy?

  • He changed the poem. When he did this poem on Def Poetry Jam he changed a lot of words.

  • I think i read somewhere that DPJ has some time restraints on his performance.

  • thanks =)

  • that's true

but i've talked with some other slam poets

    such as alvin lau

and they said that they dont write down their poems.. it comes to them in their head and they keep it there.. so they dont always have the same perfect lines all the time i suppose.

    meh i duno

  • i like his style better in his older vids

like this and the 06 slam he's all into his poems, then his newer videos hes a lot more laid back

  • funny thing I've noticed, there's only one poem here, not two like the description says, but this poem is indeed amazing. I prefer this version to the one he performed on Def Poetry

  • Noted I've changed the description. Anis had to edit his poems for time when he did Def Poetry Jam, I like this version better as well.

  • simply amazing

  • This is called For Those Of You Who Can Still Ride In An Airplane For The First Time

  • What a talent! I saw Anis at the Blue Monk tonight and he was absolutely amazing.

  • What is the name of this poem?

  • Vote for Anis on famecast!

  • He is awesome, really.

  • Amazing. Incredibly moving. Made me cry.

  • anis, it was this performance my wife fell in love with your words. i can't wait to have you out here in noraz for solomon sparrows!!

  • this is a very different version then what he currently performs... both still so amazing

  • unbelievable....
