EA no longer has sole rights to Nascar now from what I heard so.......is there another group (like Papyrus) that is coming out with a Nascar sim? I know Nascar Racing 2003 still has a large following still, I think the ability to mod the sim helped a lot. ARCA and iRacing just don't work for many due to their propriorty type nature. Papyrus sims were very nice to build on.

What propriotty type are you talking about in iRacing? The fact that you have to pay for it? Or the Pro drivers having the main focus?

Modding and tracks. I guess iRacing is the big one, we have to use their tracks (which are fine) and can't make any. I made over 2 dozen tracks for NR2003 using Sandbox and CenterLine and new graphics, scenery etc, things like that. NR2003 has over 500 tracks available now and 12+ mods, most were user made.

My first comment, but have been watching for ages! Just thought that I should point out that the Okahama circuit for Race On looks to me like TI Aida, a circuit near Okahama (I think) that hosted the Pacific GP for F1 in 94-95!

netKar Pro is definitely one of the best best if not the best sim for me... In counter part the content is poor but yeah the game should be lot more known so guys have more money to work on this good sim :) People buy it :p

I was playing the Forza 3 demo last night. I can not believe how much more advanced it is over Forza 2. it blows it away. The physics are so good, the graphics are even better, the game is simply gorgeous. GT 5 has a big run for it's money now.

About gear ratio setup:

One should remember that changing a gear takes time. In some situations one may find that he is loosing more time due to frequent gear changing than gaining by having a large number of them. It depends on the track and how fast the transmission can change gears (for example sequential gearboxes with ignition cut will allow faster gear changing than normal H patter gearbox that requires clutching )

It seems like it's the third expansion, getting it gives you all the titles so far. I hope there are old muscle cars too. Those are fun as hell to drive around tracks since the handling requires a lot of driver to make it across the line.

I have an old Microsoft Force Feedback Sidewinder wheel, one of the first force feedback wheels, buttons are a little dinky but still work, everything still works, how essential is it that I get a new racing wheel?

Makron5 - It may work for you for now.. Try it out first. Those wheels were decent back in the day. Not sure about current drivers though and how it will work in the current sims.
