  • Man when I was homeless and staying in my friends building I saw this crap a lot. I hate Glide because Mr Williams is a hack. Good work but a hack.

  • in the retail industry this kind of loss is called "shrinkage" if it's perfectly acceptable to the big corpoes why should the rev be bothered with someone elses greedy hands?!!!

  • THE MAMASANS BUY THE TURKEYS..THEY ALSO USEDED TO BUY UP THE FOODSTAMPS

  • haha! What a fucking tattletale this guy is!

  • Great story. That guy is out of touch. At least speak out against the people profiting and doing wrong.

  • Right on Reverend Cecil Williams. If all the world leaders were like Rev. Williams there wouldn't be any starvation or hunger in this world. You serve the people from your heart and I commend you sir.

  • God can see that. This is just disgracful that people abuse the charity work that Glide has been doing. However if 95% of people are honest and 5% are bad, this ratio is acceptable.

  • Wells if the people had all the money they needed, they wouldn't bother taking more bags, but i wish the people who took more would have thought about the other people who really needed it :(

  • keep busting them

  • chinese+ mexicans are the biggest thiefs there are ,,this is noithing new.

  • mexicans or better hispanics are some of the most hard working people I have ever seen.

  • whats that got to do with being lieing theifs??

  • I agree with Cecil.. there are more urgent things to worry about than the few buck made of a few canned goods.

  • You go Cecil! Keep serving the people!

  • HAHA REV WAS LIKE GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR BS. i see where the rev is coming from .

  • There is no one better than Rev. Cecil Williams!

  • Cecil knows what he is about-- read Les Miserables and how Jean Valjean stole the candlesticks.

This country is guilty for allowing so much poverty that pits poor against poor.

  • Haha! Rev. Cecil Williams rocks! I hope people were listening to what he said. He knows his stuff!

  • What Cecil Williams and Glide is doing is utterly amazing, unfortuantely, whenever you offer something like this, there will always be people who try to game the system. I sincerely love Rev. Williams' attitude, we're still going to serve the people, even if we're taken advantage of by a small few, because there are many more who guienely need what we can provide. God bless!

  • I'm a firm believer in the idea that no bad deed goes unpunished. Just give it time, for the hand of providence is on us all. Judgement on such people will come soon enough. Re Rev Williams, I think his tone was a bit abusive but his message is correct. Every system has its glitches. If the overall result is positive, then the system is successful.

  • Yeah, there are greedy bastards who hustle the church. They ruin the spirit of the holidays. But when you whine about it to Rev. Cecil, you aren't telling him anything new. What the HELL do you expect him to do about it? Call the police? Attach radio frequency ID tags to the bags? Implement a satellite tracking system? Stop giving out food? There are always going to be hustlers but just as long as MOST of the people in line are actual needy people getting food then it can be overlooked.

  • I was surprised that Rev. Cecil Williams was not bothered by this activity. When I see these people in line, I can almost always pinpoint those who are not needy, like the people wearing clothes that don't look like a homeless person could afford.

  • You never know someone's financial situation, don't pass judgement based on the clothes someone's wearing. Sometimes a homeless person may purchase a suit in an attempt to find a job.

  • WOW! That was unexpected, all you were doing was pointing out that people were cheating the system, and the pastor came after you, like you were the bad guy. Thats why I have such a problem helping the homeless. Well there is another reason to.

  • No, the pastor didn't come after the reporter like he was the bad guy. He was expressing his exasperation at having the obvious pointed out to him. He's saying that the percentage of cheaters is small, and it's a price he's willing to pay to get the food to the overwhelming majority the ones who really need it. In the corporate world, it's called the "price of doing business."

  • Thats all well and good but if you look at 2:20 you see his whole attitude change from I know this is going on to, Shut up and listen to me.

  • Yeah, well, I don't blame him...the reporter was being kind of pushy. At any rate, what does it matter whether or not the pastor is being polite? He works hard. He's feeding people who need it. That's what counts.

  • Well, I think Reverend Williams hadn't got much sleep as he was making titanic moves to organize this massive food drive so this may explain his moodiness. And the reporter seemed to be pushing Rev. Williams to go after the people that hustled the donations. I think the Reverend was correct in everything he said.

  • REV , wasnt tired his message was, i aint no baby sitter i helped who wanted help. even rich people get greedy ... AINT NO DIFFERENT

  • I agree with you, it was quiet obvious!

  • That is not right, selling donated goods. I can see where the reverend was coming, you cannot get too overworked over people hustling you. But it still is wrong that these people would do such a thing. That's the way the world is, though.
