My friend spoiled a death in the 6th book (won't say who in case someone is reading this) and sure I still enjoyed the book, but that doesn't change the fact that I learned about a major part of the story through a friend vs. reading the book. I don't know about you, but I'd way rather read the book to discover who dies.

Why wouldn't you say that Harry wins if you had access to the book? Why did you not mention Snape, the most important death? The whole marketing campaign was "Snape, Friend or Foe?" If you had done this at the store where I got my book, I would have thought nothing of it. No mention of what Deathly Hallows are? You didn't know anything important. You ruined nothing.
