  • i just put mine in the dishwasher. win win for all

  • I clean mine with a strawberry douche and wash rag...not only does it smell good, it leaves it feeling fresh all day where it counts.

  • @Pissonyew LOL not phaggot

  • i scrached mine with a rc helicopter xP

  • Best advice I've seen on this question. I heard years ago that Apple's "LCD cleaning solution" is 50/50 H2O/IsoAlc too. What ever you do, DO NOT clean an LCD with denatured (ethyl) alcohol. It attacks the the plastic with a vengeance. And I have a monitor with a big "S" on it to prove it.

  • NOTICE HE JUST SAYS THINGS NEVER DOES ANYTHING

  • I used sandpaper

  • @tanginawlangusername BAHAHAHA

  • only a fatty would spill his cream cake on the screen

  • I used Monster ScreenCleaner with Micro Fiber and thats awful too use on the monitor, so only on my samsung tv I use glass cleaner with Ammonia and it really does work for me, no one has too believe me thats ok, but Im telling you this does work,

  • Thanks, I just purchased my first LCD and I love it!! Great tips in this video...

  • haha im just jokin around sorry haha

  • i got a microfiber coth.from a tv store for anly 2 euros,and i use water,clean like new

  • I tried a lot of different products and they all left streaks. Picked up Klear Screen and sprayed that on the included terry cloths, wiped the monitor vertically a section at a time, then wiped it right away with Klear Screen's microfiber cloth. This not only prevented streaking it also got rid of the old streaking.

  • Just use a microfiber and water. It cleaned way better than LCD cleaners for me.

  • @deepakm If you use tap water, minerals will build up. You HAVE to use DISTILLED water.

  • lol why the fuck would you have food or ink on your lcd screen?

  • lolz..

  • I've heard IPA wasn't a favorite. And that just water was the preferable poor man's solution. Say using a real fluffy terry cloth hoping you have no real strong citrus oils to contend with (for example). If major oil based attachments are incurred than maybe an IPA mixture wouldn't hurt the long run cycle of cleaning vs surface wear. I could never get a low down on the cutting agents but alcohols are much safer than others. IPA.

  • Does anyone else hear Rodney snort as he inhales after he says "and also which cloth you're using" between 10 &16 seconds? I mean no offense; it's just something I noticed. +5

  • I'm really smart! I used glass plus which sprayed all over the monitor and then i decided to look up the correct way to do it. Next i will be smashing my computer and then learning how to install games on it. Oh wait i know how to install games on it and it's not broken yet!. Lol.

  • I've seen a few of these "How to clean an LCD screen" videos, and yours is by far the most accurate. Thanks for the great advice man :) Also, you can find cleaning pads for LCD screens at most electronics stores.

  • i use monster clean

  • i use brasso, metal polish, keeps minor scratches removed from my psp and dvds

  • My payyyynes needs a good washing. Any ideas???

  • Criminals use sandpaper or acid to take their fingerprints off so that should work for fingerprints on a LCD Screen too.

  • can you make a video about how to How to Clean a Processor ? pleas ! ;)

  • just get some towels and put sime rubbing alchol on it then wipe the processors top clean works like a charm

  • I used brake or carb cleaner to get the old thermal paste off.

  • $30 for a lcd cleaning kit, fuck that. this is what u can do, buy a small bottle of distiled vinegar (about $2) mix 1/4 of cup and 3/4 water, put it in a small spray bottle to use it later, i use my eyeglasses cloth( about $4) and spray the cloth and works perfectly. all for about $6, and if you have this stuff already, even better.. ....oh yeah turn off lcd first so the screen can cool down, plus it is easier to see the dirty spots.

  • i have a 46' lcd tv. i got a kleenex tissue and sprayed water on it to clean the tv. now it left smeer marks and they wont come off. im very mad, can some1 please help. its a samsung 650 series with shiny screen.

  • you're fucked

  • ye he is

  • Try urine, works every time. Even kills ants ; ]

  • kleenex and all tissue and paper is made from wood. Never use kleenex or anything paper on anything from camera lenses to glasses to LCD screens. PS paper towels have ruined my brass bathroom faucets.

  • Cheapest way is 50 percent rubing alcahole, to 25 percent water mix (distilled prefurred but not required exactly.) Use 100% cotton cloth, DONT use micro fiber.

  • no he doesnt he is just very detailed and i dont thinh moch is i word

  • wow your a retard =) have a nice day retard

  • @jamesnuutinen wow your an asshole =) have a nice day asshole

  • @JustGottaChillax you do realize my comment was in reply to mattnmattnmatt. not to Rodney. you have a nice day.

  • @jamesnuutinen If you're going to try and insult somebody you might want to check your grammar.

  • @jamesnuutinen wtf is your problem

  • i use pee and it works for me

  • $20 to $30 dollars!!!! that's not cheap for CLEANING a screen

  • lcd clean kit? bullshit, i used a wet napkin and dried with my bed sheets. Now my lcd looks great

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH GET A NAPKIN AND SOME WATER 20-30 dollars like 20% of the cost of my LCD oh.......

  • I use Turtle Wax that you use on Cars, It works a Treat

  • lol I just use a damp paper towel and it works fine.

  • I punched my LCD and its ok -_-

  • lol...

  • LOL

  • OMG MY jizzz came off! Thank you so much for advices

  • I use Shaving Cream

  • Yeah i used Scott towel and windex for 2 month . My lcd 24 inch is 3 month old atm. I have now BIG ASS scratch all over the screen . Fucking Pussy Screen . I miss the old day of CRT.If you want to know if your LCD screen is fucked up .. Close it and use a flashlight on it LOL.My JAW dropped . Has for the moron saying it's for obsessive ppl .The day you save money for something when you have rent etc to pay and have a tight budget . You can talk .

  • so that went wrong with my old screen, i sprayd right on the screen xD

  • what about glass cleaner 409 on a soft dusting rag, or even those clean cloths and spray that you get for glasses, whould any of those work, cuz i got both, and i have alot of finger prints and spmuges on my screen

  • Are you so lazy, you dont want to have to exert yourself to understand the instructions comming from his mouth, that you want to just look n' learn. Come on! be thankful for this info!

  • Hmmm. No, on second thought, I still feel the same. It's video, not radio. :-)

  • I agree with this comment.

  • true it is a little dull.

  • LOL @ me using windex on my hp f1905b

it's still working fine, and it's shiner than ever ;)

  • ROFLLL !

  • microfiberclothes usally do the trick here

and i worked once in a lcdrepairingplant and to clean the screen u have to be carefull yes but they can handle some pressure :)

    Greetz B0B0

  • i punched my LCD screen and its works fine haha

  • You are a lot better than Logan.

  • no dont go there...logan pwns

  • Damn i been using Windex and paper towels... damn...

  • I use a 1 damp 100% Cotton Cloth & 1 Dry 100% cotton cloth, works very well & don't scratch it at all.

  • I use a 1 dump 100% Cotton Cloth & 1 Dry 100% cotton cloth, works very well & don't scratch it at all.

  • Brillo pad ftw

  • why the fuck would i scratch my screen? i think these kits are for people that dont know how to take care of their computers. In which case they probably should have a computer in t he first place.

  • ok he must be getting paid by these websites if he is talking about people wasting money on a $30 kit. I mean im not spitting and shitting on my lcd so why do i need a cleaning solution. They act as if they are cars and have to be detailed(cleaned) before even turning on the pc.

  • these kits are for people who are oseessed and would fuck there computer everyday if there was a vagina on the computer

  • i use a damp towel and it works fine. wtf's the point going and spending $30 on a stupid cloth?

  • idk about spending 30$ but some lcd screens are sensetive to microscratches

  • use the water jet spray.. like the one at car wash.. LOL...

  • I use the stuff my dad uses to clean his car's windows. Forgot what it's called. It works extremely well, every last pixel looks super-new and the image quality is detailed and even. Works extremely well. No need to dry with a cloth, just wait for it to evaporate. :D

  • I just take a wash cloth and moisten it with tap water, wipe down the screen and dry it with a dry wash cloth. I've been doing this for 5 years and my lcd screens look brand new(no problems what so ever). This works on matte finish screens or gloss and actually does a better job of cleaning than some of those cleaning kits (they leave streaks and particles). I also like to put clear liquid car wax (ICE) on my screens and tower housing which protects them from fingerprints and dust.

  • no windex and a rag? O.o

  • really suck when you sneeze on new one lol....

  • YES I DID THAT TO MY BRAND NEW 22" LOL!

  • good informative guy. clean/interesting videos and thats all it should be. thanks!!

  • Hey Rodney! I was wandering if you could do something like a review... The question is: Could a mother board help get better fps in games? for example if I have a good cpu+gpu but on a cheap mobo could an expensive one perform better?

  • expensive is not always better, learn up at tomshardwareDOTcom

  • about the lcds... i switched to a lcd 17 8ms rt 800:1 contrast i know it sucks but i was using a crappy 17" hmmmm sampo or something like that crt... and playing crysis hardly on very high at 1280x1024 with 8x AA now i can play it smoooooth really smooth looks awesome on the new lcd :O lol

  • How are these always relevant to me and my hardware!

  • Great tip man , I mixed my own solution and cleaned my tv immedietly awesome

  • i wish the engineers at work would do this.

  • just bought an 19" wide hahah no more 17 fat ass square monitor! i have better fps to! lol

  • monitors don't give better fps. Bigger ones give worse fps.

  • damn nooblet hahahaha xD

  • no, a different monitor will not give you a better FPS, it is simply an output device

  • I'm pretty sure he said motherboard...Read lol...

  • tyy

  • i use anti static cloth

  • I use water damped toilet paper...it does a good job..and its cheap....

  • I do the same. Use one wet piece, one to remove most of the water and another dry piece in a circular motion to avoid streaking.

  • lol $20-30...there only $10 in NZ so that's like $5 USD.

  • My screen usually dont get very dirty since its like 50cm away from me and I nerver toutch it but if I ever get it dirty could I use an ordinary glass cleaner?

  • 20-30 bucks?! xO seriously? thats so gay haha

  • i just wet a paper towel and wring it out then wipe it on the screen and dry it with a dry napkin... it sure as hell gets the job done

  • having problem cleaning the LCD

solution: dont clean it :> hehehehe

  • very interesting, i wasn't sure about it

  • Is it ok to use a bit of water like 5ml and then clean the screen

    ???

  • Fabulous.

Rodney the wise knows everything ^_^

I still have to attempt throwing food and ink on my screen :D

    nice vid Rodney,

    5*****

  • i just use water o-O

  • same haha

  • same here.... and my screen still look awsome... people come into my job talkin about they havent cleaned there 2 year old lcd screen then complain about cleaning kit prices... i got a soulution its called 1$ finishing cloth from biglost and water (Free)

  • How would someone get ink on their computer screen?

  • who would put food or ink on a LCD :P

  • maybe, you would choke on the food, and like spit it back out everywhere.

or, you were chewing on a pen, or bending. And it exploded!

Or maybe you're just weird and want to

  • heres a tip, if you want to clean your lcd quickly and cheaply put a little of water on your cleaning cloth for your glasses and wipe of all the dust, whatever you do don't use windex

  • ya Windex leaves all kinds of marks and makes it attract dust like a magnet. i have made that mistake.

  • Rodney is so wise and full of knowledge.

  • forreal LOL

  • OMG RODNEY. i just take a face cloth and some tap water and wipe away! i don't know about the glossy screened LCDs but my 22 incher's doin' great!

  • haha 30 bux on a clean kit is kinda rediculasand i dont see how water could hurt ^^

  • OO i was actually wondering this, i have a few questions. how many times can u generally use a kit before it runs out? (for a 22" screen preferably) and do i get this at a local computer store? future shop/best buy? Thank you to any responses =D

  • Thanks for answering my question, 5'd

  • Do not use alcohol on a LCD screen ! it will damage the surface.

Use some kinda sop and distilled water.

Fine micro or fine fiber paper to take the solution off.

  • its a mixture of alcohol and distilled water......and soap will make bubbles and you will make mess.....

  • Let me tell you why i wrote this.

ppl are thinking oo i can use alcohol and it will be cleen and getting some vodka and water, this can dmg the pixls on a lcd.

Dilute isopropyl alcohol (not rubbing alcohol, as it may contain oil) into a solution of no greater than 50% alcohol and 50% with distilled water / deionised water. Purified / bottled water works well too.

Then use a cotton cloth, lint-free microfiber cloth, or other very soft cloth.

Do not press the screen with your fingers.

  • Could you tell us how to get scratches out? (Not the bare LCD itself, but plastic/glass)

  • Did u get a hair cut?

  • lol food on the screen

  • im going to go down to 7-11 and get some fiji water and mix some achohol in it xD

  • I use alcohol wipes to clean mine. Nice hair cut rodney.

  • thanks!! i will do that!

  • I use regular tap water and have never had a problem

  • depends what type of monitor you have. Most matte screens are fine with water, but those shitty glossy pieces of crap don't fair well.

  • i use the napkins from the kitchen table cus i dont giva fuck!

  • when you say smudges and stuff you mean like all the bacteria and germs youve been sneezing onto the screen haha

  • My lcd has a glass screen in front of it :)

  • That LCD cleaning liquid works well

  • i just use a cloth and polish, i do it all the time and nothing bad happens to the monitor, it just stays sparkly clean :)

  • !!!

  • just use distilled water and you're good to go... just invest on a really really good micro fibre cloth...

  • yes indeed how do you clean the dust trapping corners?

  • You can use a compressed air can spray.

  • Compressed air can spray.

    Really works :D

  • What do you recommend for cleaning in the edges and corners of the screen?

  • I use a micro fiber cloth and get it into the corners easy. Hope that helped.

  • Question, having 2 9600gt cards running sli from 2 differnt vendors both have different clock speeds does the faster card go into slot 1 or slot 2?

  • slot 1

  • slot 1

  • Water alone seems to work well.

  • 3rd! =P

i use Monster Cleaner.. good stuff, comes with soft cloth.

  • stuff is good for keeping your case shiny.. especially if it has a Blk gloss finish like my Ultra Aluminus has.

    :::peace:::

  • nice one man. 1st comment :D
