  • dear desis- stop analyzing everything for once in your lives and enjoy the show. signed everybody.

  • @MissAvatar2011 What do you make of it? Hilarious don't you think?

  • @MissAvatar2011 Type in "Fawlty Towers" on youtube. It's been described as the biggest farce written in the English language. You'll thank me once you've seen how funny this treasure is. Call it a Christmas recommendation. Few Americans know about this sitcom. Ironically former President George H. Bush used to watch it on VHS when he was stressed during Operation Desert Storm back in 1990-1991. Just a little bit of trivia :).

  • @MissAvatar2011 What about Jaipur (the pink city), in Rajasthan? It's a fairly large & cosmopolitan city (I've visited briefly). Isn't there a business Sindhi community in Jaipur out of interest???

  • @MissAvatar2011 BTW a question:> I presume most Sindhis in India live in Rajasthan???> as it's the border state with Sindh, Pakistan

  • @MissAvatar2011 Pakistan has at least 2.5-4.5 million Hindu citizens, i.e. 1.85%-3.5% of Pakistan (with the majority residing in Sindh) like Karachite cricketer Danish Kaneria.,-thus making Pakistan the 4th most populous country with Hindus after of course India, Nepal & Bangladesh in that order. To state that Karachi should have gone to India (objectively speaking :) is a controversial & provocative statement. If we use that theory than Lahore should have gone to East Punjab!

  • @MissAvatar2011 Well from what I've heard Sindh province in Pakistan still has a large Hindu population but I think they're mostly poor, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @MissAvatar2011 Have you ever see the 1970s BBC sitcom "Fawlty Towers" * John Cleese? Have you been to the Wagah Border Crossing & all the flag lowering processions. Out of interest, what was Mohenjo-daro like if you've been there?

  • @MissAvatar2011 Ahh well we're going into semantics here & off the topic of this video, but no true British sitcom would ever refer to Mum as "Mom", unless you're watching a film produced in the States. Well I'm in my twenties (without giving too much away here, lol ;), but I would say the world is hugely influenced by American mass-media & isn't restricted to just Britain.

  • @MissAvatar2011 I was born & raised in England my whole life & I've never ever heard "mum" being to referred to as "mom" locally on a-to-day basis. Perhaps, I'm getting old! lol.

  • @MissAvatar2011 2 reasons y I thought you were from the States. You used the word "mom" (Although I do realize the world has become more Americanised (due to mass-media frm there) than Anglicised) instead of mum & most ppl online tend to come frm the States anyway. Yeah I know Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has a few Sindhis as well. I've been to Delhi (twice)-Koop Tanda wintere aur koop gorom summere (very cold in the winter & very hot in the summer :), Agra, Jaipur-the Golden Triangle.

  • @MissAvatar2011 I also know that Mohenjo-daro is in Sindh :).

  • @MissAvatar2011 No, Bengali but I've known Sindhis in the past & they said that Hong Kong has about a 7,500 influential, strong Sindhi, predominantly business community. Let me guess your're living in the States, perhaps Los Angeles?

  • @MissAvatar2011 Well, why we were discussing on the topic of the Sindhi community, there is a substantial Sindhi community of 7,500 members & many more in America :)

  • @MissAvatar2011 The point is I never said Babita Kapoor isn't Sindhi. As I said before, Babita's mother was a Sindhi-Catholic. You initially refuted this fact :). As you well know there are Sindhi-Muslims, Hindus & Christians, on both sides of the border.

  • @MissAvatar2011 Babita's father was a Hindu (through him, Sadhana r 1st cousins with Babita, however her own mother was a "Catholic" & Kareena Kapoor confirms this. More over in Kareena Kapoor's interview with "The Times of India"-she states that her immediate family "celebrates" Diwali, Holi & Christmas as well as visiting the Mandir & Church. Early 20th century Christians would still retain their ancestral Sindhi-Hindu names even after converting. I hope this clears this up.

  • @MissAvatar2011 Putting any nationalistic feelings to one side, going into semantics, I agree the legendary Sadhana Shivdasani is 100% Karachite Hindu. However Wiki states the source of Babita's Catholic origins from in "Fenil and Bollywood" from a February 24th 2010 edition of the Bombay times section of "The Times of India" interview conducted with Kareena Kapoor where she says that her mother has Catholic roots. I don't see any reason to why anyone would lie about this fact.

  • @MissAvatar2011 You forgot to mention that the Khatri caste also constitutes of Muslim members. According to "Wikipedia", it's a little known fact that Babita's (refer under her personal life & trivia) mother was Catholic & she celebrates Christmas & visiting Church as well as visiting the Mandir.

  • too all of yu guys... here... punjabi wedding is the most famous wewdding in world v celebrated a weeks before wedding.... v party as no wans do in thier on wedding... proud to karisma...

  • زواج كرشما ممتع

  • no offence,.. but hw can a marrige take place... takin circles of a dead prson.. :s.. strange...

  • @angellleyezzz they r taking circle of GURU GRANTH SAHEB...the holy book of sikh.

  • @angellleyezzz i dont know what you know about the sikh religion but its clearly not a lot . What they are taking circles of is the Guru Granth Sahib which is the sikh holy book which is treated as a living Guru in this religion. They certainly aren't taking phere (circles) of any dead person. You must be confusing a Moslem with a Sikh Gurdwara or something.

  • i think beacuse they r stars the think there is no need to respect guru granth sahib wich is rong beacuse there is no one bigger than baba ji (god)

  • This is the most disrespectful punjabi wedding i have ever seen.. When you do Ardas you should always bow in front of Guru Granth Sahib.. I am only half punjabi and was mainly raised on my Island side but i still know better to Respect our beloved Guru Granth Sahib.. Everyone who has commented on this is truly right about it...

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

  • @manisukhchainbir09 Thats because they are Hindu, Punjabi is not a religion, It is a state in India and Province in Pakistan, the people from these areas are called Punjabis and Sikhism is a religion that many of the people follow. In fact most of the Punjabis in the world are Muslims. This is as if someone saw a Sikh wedding video on youtube and said "this is not an Indian wedding! It's not a proper Hindu wedding!". A Punjabi Atheist doesn't stop being a Pun because he doesn't have a religion!

  • @manisukhchainbir09 i think u dont know brother . when sikh granthi start the anand karaj of new couple its necessary thats only couple and their parents stand up .. all others not to stand .... its rule from in sikh marriege only and when marriege complete then all ppl stand for ardaas... its rule and followes bye all sikhs here in india

  • nice video but must respect Guru Granth sahib karishma and her hubby was keep on talking all the way even guru ji the hajuri wich its not good she may be a star but not great then god.

  • this isn't a sikh wedding! its a mockery of the religion. there is no respect from anyone present. half the people don't have their heads covered and they're talking throughout. there's a million points i could list from this video that disrespect the sikh religion. there's nothing to be proud of that they're having a 'punjabi wedding' because its a joke. what kind of role models are they?

  • @SantiKaur

film stars are like rakshas in dress of sadhu

what a joke what kind of marriage is this?

  • isn't it considered awkward if bride and groom talk?

  • @saniaumair3 welcome to the real world...where hav U been? this is modern u know...DUHHH

  • @TheElectrogurl nice answer........but in our weddings groom and bride try not to talk on wedding especially not when the ceremony is in process but they talk on walima (which is next day function given by groom)

  • Lovely wedding, one would ever dream off....I am wondering how can people even think to hit the dislike button...

  • punjabiiiii'z rokezzzzzz....BHUURRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAA

  • why is every1 saying why did they opt for a sikh ceremony?? aren't kapoors punjabi ????

  • nic

  • wow.. ive only seen this style of wedding in bollywood movies.. it feels soo weird knowing that this is real lol i love itt

  • @MsAvatar2011

Try and wrap your head around the notion that "everyone is entitled to their opinion". You are right that Sikhs originated from Hindus, and I dont see what you are arguing with me about? What do you want me to say? My grandfather's family is from Punjab. He migrated into the city and eventually learned Hindi, married a Hindu women, had kids, who were all brought up speaking Hindu, worshipping Hindu gods, etc. This does not mean he is not Sikh anymore.

  • they should have practiced or watched some punjabi wedding to watch how lawan takes place ...they were not at all organised for lawan....rest was awesome

  • OMG, is anyone else crying while watching this ?? or i am the only one ?.. this is sooooo beautiful and precious !!!

  • Can someone tell me why they had a sikh ceremony and not a hindu ceremony, thanks

  • so are they divorced yet?

  • Guys in 2011 - I am seeing so many comments here talking about religions and so on. Don't we know that all religions stand at the same height ? Please, as responsible citizens we should focus on secularism. A request :)

  • where's ranbir kappor ? ;)

  • Sunjay is so Fake and high on something

  • which part.

  • @kgv1982

I am talking about ur earlier comment...plz digg into to find out

  • @MissSharma85

I have seen first Sharma Christian who uses "Jesus Christ" to finish her sentence rather than "Hey Ram" nice combination eh. thts how thr r hindu punjabis in Punjab. I won't write much 4 people like u who blame others or try to mould others' facts by writin crap on a public forum. u need to work on ur facts. check wikipedia and search "punjabi people"..then see "point 2.4". "advice others but make sure u write the right thing".

  • Oh and why do people not understand the difference between religion and culture... you can be from the STATE of Punjab and have a Punjabi culture, but still have the religion of Hinduism or Kabala for that matter... two different things!

  • People seem to be confused. Sanjay's grandfather is a rich Sikh entrepreneur. Sanjays mother (born Sikh) married a Hindu man. Therefore, Sanjay got his Kapoor last name. That makes him half sikh, half hindu. Karishma's family is full hindu, as can be seen by her very famous bollywood uncle and grandfather. Yes the bride is supposed to marry in the groom's religion, but I think in this case they should have had a Hindu wedding, 75% of this couple is Hindu! And this is done very disrespectfully!

  • @xNdNangel1x < Many Hindus have had Sikh ancestors and sometimes they follow Sikh tradition in marriage and it's fine thing to do. After all, Sikhs have Hindu roots and same "bhakti path."

I didn't see any wrong doing in the ceremony except bad video clips in the middle.

  • @xNdNangel1x

If Sanjay's father is Hindu and mom is Sikh, and Karishma's both parents are hindu, why are they having a Sikh wedding?

  • @rupal20101 I've got news for you & I hate to break it to you & go into semantics but the Kapoor's is a very "diverse" family. Karisma's mother, Babita is actually half Sindhi-Catholic, & her father Randhir is half-Sikh (Raj Kapoor, Karisma's famous grandfather married a Sikh) thus making her a quarter Sikh already herself. The "Kapurs" decided to have Sikh marriage ceremony & it's Sanjay's professed faith. & who said Sanjay's father was Hindu anyways??? "Kapur" is a very Sikh name.

  • Talk about politics, If this wedding was in a temple NO one would be questioning it.. now bcoz its in a Gurdwara, its become a massive debate. Everyone needs to RESPECT THE WEDDING CEREMONY.. like we would in the real world.. its not a scene out of a movie.

  • @kgv1982

could u plz explain that what r u trying to prove by writing "definitely not gurudwara" and "jai hindu kapoor"...plz throw some light so that we have our facts straight....

  • i think this part should be reposted as it goes funny a bit further in when they both walk around the podium it looks as though its stuck on when they show the gentleman in the red turban but otherwise this wedding was awesome and i think karisma kapoor looked absolutely stunning

  • @ MissSharma85

Without any utter disrespect I would like say you're wrong. The Kapoors are a Punjabi family however they do not practice strict disciplinary Sikhism, or any relgion in particular. Moreover because Sikhism is the dominant religion within Punjab people conclude that all Punjabi's are Sikhs, whereas many Punjabis are Hindu as well. Being Punjabi is one's ethnicity and being Sikh, Hindu, Catholic, Muslim, and or Christian is one's religion. I really hope this helps. :)

  • @dgkallday63 Yes, Punjabis can be Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims or Christians.

  • Here in USA you go to the Gurdwara Sahib, but there is not disrespect lyk what has been shown here, at there wedding...Im sorry to say weddings held in USA and Canada are much better...it has so much meaning to it and its really memorable. I would say type in punjabi wedding in usa, england, or canada...even though its not royal but is really calm and meaningful...

  • THANK U FOR INVITING US TO WATCH UR SPECIAL DAY. U R A WONDERFUL LADY AND A TRU PEOPLES ACTRESS! WE ALL LOVE U KARISMA:) X0X

  • hey dude karishma kapoor belongs to sikhism as well . kapoors are majbi sikhs . karishma's grand grandfather prithviraj kapoor was a pure punjabi person . oberoi, kapoor, chopra are all punjabis . b r chopra's ful name is baldev raj chopra.

  • sikh weddings are so nice =)

  • what happened to the video!!

  • whats wrong with the fucking video? pice of shit.

  • @baburmirzad17at 0:05,left most is the actor SANJAY KAPOOR,ANIL KAPOORS bro, which u assumed 2 b her husband,n the one whom shez getting married 2 in d video iz her real HUSBAND named SANJAY KAPOOR,{a bussinesman}.....

  • Hey guys I am so confused, wasn't Karisma married to Sanjay Kapoor (or whatever his name is)?

  • kapoors r sikhs from punjab

  • All I was thinking that they have done sooo much with lotsssss of emotions and heart .... all were great, beautiful ................. but now they r getting apart .... I really think these rich ppl have almost everything except faith or say generally cultural values !!

  • I could not watch the entire video!! It was damaged:( wanted to see this part specially...

  • i jst want to say that karishma kapoor u r very beautiful.............

  • interference as from 1 .30 .... hmmm i enjoyed though, never knew this kind of wedding, am not from india...lovely...

  • OMG i didnt know the kapoors were sikh!! they always said they pathans and thought they had the usual indian wedding around the fire etc

she looks great though! :) <3

  • @Bubbiiii

The Kapoors are Punjabi Hindus but Karishma and Sanjay Kapur opted for a Sikh wedding. Perhaps Sanjay is a Sikh Punjabi. Beautiful wedding ceremony. Sanjay looks very handsome.

  • damaged video...missed the most important part of the wedding. Karisma looks so gorgeous and like a doll, so classy. groom looks......hopefully hes sweet to her

  • At what point did I say that Sikhs became Hindus? I was talking about my family, not the entire India. My family migrated from Punjab to the cities and we have kept our Sikhism alive, but the same time, we speak Hindi and Punjabi interchangeably because my uncles are married to Hindu women. Do you understand what I am saying?

  • THEY are neither Punjabis neither anything else...They are Indians...!!!!

  • VERY NICE WEDDING IN PUNJABI STYLE..I LIKE IT..PUNJABI MARIAGES GONNA ROCK EVERYTIME

  • They migrated from Peshawar City of pakistan during the time of seperations.

  • They are Hindu Punjabi, just like my family. It means we are originally Sikh. We migrated from Punjabi, and over time assimilated within the Hindu culture. Many men from our family also married Hindu women. We speak hindi and punjabi fluently.

  • yayyy Sikh wedding :)

  • R dey punjabi??

  • lolwhere is their sikh identitiy

  • They are a sikh family, and yet they barely know anything. lol. They were pretty good though. She started to cry, awe, I would too.

  • @sabigirl46 they are hindus, who like many, many punjabi hindu families, revere sikhism.

  • The Kapoor family come from Punjab and are Sikh's but over time they have mixed into the Hindu culture. the Roots are from Punjab.

  • Can some one tell me plz are they Hindu punjabi or sikh punjabi the Kapoor family?? Thanks
