  • the euro civic type r looks better than the japan civic type r.

  • urrm they are the same!!!!!!

  • wow thats a nice car! how much would that cost??

  • Shift Cut System on Dogbox Trainy?

  • that has to be like 450 hp

  • 260 Bhp, By JAS

  • hmm...The car he's driving doesn't have VTEC since it's a racing car...

  • ya harbi araba honda a.q

  • The fastest NA 4cly FF car in the world and no doubt about it

  • Not a chance. The Integra DC5 easily out paces it, as does the new Japanese market Civic Type R with a proper LSD, 25bhp more, 60kg lighter....etc etc. Honda Europe are selling a Type S as a Type R and the badge doesn't belong on the road car.

  • Out paces what....?!! An egg whisk...?! 25bhp... so much more... it's getting me excited!! Needs more like an extra 40kg of torque!!!

  • In europe, both type S and Type r cars are sold. There is a difference between S and R as S car is something between regular civic and Type R. Just checked my homeland honda page.

BTW S goes for Sport, and R goes for Racing :)

  • tiptronic is an automatic trans... but also sorta a manual in the same time... its just like a paddles shifter but without the paddle.

  • Tiptronic is the auto manual transmission developed by PORSCHE. You get it in a few non-porsche but in general Tiptronic isn't a kind of transmission, it's Porsche's name for their auto manual transmission. And as others have said, this is a sequential anyway, it has no auto option.

And you get more than an extra 40bhp with that 30k. There's more to a car than BHP and 0-60.

  • rancid, the older ones look better, the EP models

  • Toyota > Honda.toyotas engines are amazing.

  • Toyota's engines don't have VTEC :D

  • Ture Toyota engines don't use vtec but they have VVT (variable valve timing) which is similar.

  • sorry i had to laugh at your comment. When a toyota ever makes a 125hp per litre engine then come back and talk ok? thanks

  • ChristianM17 you still believing Honda's propoganda? Even though Honda's entire philsophy is that cars (and other machines, even airplanes) are just things to put their engine's into.. their engines are still junk. no torque, period.

  • Engines are actually well built, to be balanced with the suspension. Something you wouldn't know. :)

  • Balanced with the suspension? Yes I wouldnt' know.. because its total BULLSHIT. :) you fucking moron. Their cars are Front wheel drive, where is the balance in that! And their suspensions? Yes they are good for bouncing like an idiot ricer on the freeway. :) Good point buddy.

  • Balance meaning the suspension accomodates the power and the work together to make the car more neutral. Where oversteer/understeer can be controlled by the drive. Their cars are front wheel drive? FWD has a very good advantaged called "Left foot braking" but nowaday AWD cars have so much technology it makes it a lot easier on the drivers stamina. You have a LOT to learn about how weight shifting and what "BALANCE" actually means. The Type R stock feels like a proper racing type car.

  • Excuse me!? I have a lot to learn?! Listen buddy, a "proper racing type car" has enough power to not feel neutral. You should be able to spin out if you slam the gas like an idiot in a corner, or at least initiate some dam torque-steer (something a civic driver would never know about). Let me tell you something, a rolling chassic (no engine) is the most neutral of all cars, so go drive that you honda fool

  • Lol you obviously still don't know what neutral is. Even a neutral car can spin out if driven like an "idiot" but a neutral car allows the driver to have more control over the car instead of unexpected reactions that have to be corrected with steering and throttle. Torque-steer? Do you know what torque-steer? That's a problem in FF cars. Something you DON'T want. I hope you don't build cars.

  • and the advantage of "left foot braking" you're talking about is more of a privilege... the privilege you recieve when you drive a piece of shit understeering FWD car that forces you to do left foot braking of you will crash into the wall... I

  • Forced to do Left Foot braking? Well not really. Left Foot braking is an advantage that allows for a faster corner entry. FR's cannot do it since they're too loose. FF's are more stable. Also to add the "POS" DC2 ITR won SCCA 7 consecutive times.

  • you know what allows even faster corner entry than left foot braking? a rear wheel drive car....

  • Actually no because the FR would be too loose and would spin out. Thus the FF would be able to be more stable. Since any oversteer can be corrected with throttle/acceleration, and any understeer can be corrected with braking.

  • a rear wheel drive car will not spin out because it won't be under steering like an fwd car will. but even if it does start spinning, as long as the driver can drift, the car will not spin out. it is true fwd are faster than rwd cars of the same class in some cases, but rwd is far more fun to drive and better to learn techniques on, so the question is, why the fuck do you like civics?

  • Uhh dude. Oversteering is what causes "spin outs" Understeer is referred to as "stable" Oversteer is referred to as "loose." Drifting is NOT the fastest way around the corner. Only VERY rare situations it is. What is more "fun" to drive is opinion. And actually I like integra's more, but I do like civics. And I won't let you lie about them.

  • yes ofcourse its opinion.. but somehow the world's opinion is very mis-represented of the truth. people are into FWD cars because that is the majority of cars made. you cannot say you like civics more when you haven't even owned a rwd car. besides, FWD understeer is just as dangerous as rwd sliding.

  • I drive and have owned RWD cars.

Lol actually I drive RWD cars everyday. Since I work at Nissan. They have a Nismo tuned 350z and another 350z. I admit RWD are fun, But I enjoy FWD more. Because I like the techniques you imploy with them. It's different being able to control understeer/oversteer with throttle/brake. Instead of so much steering.

  • if you say so.. but i smell some bullshit. i know after you drive rwd, its hard to go back because fwd requires more steering 95% of the time.

  • No it doesn't. Watch the Spoon Integra Type R from the Type R Legend video. FWD doesnt' require more steering. In a RWD car you'll be doing tons and loads more countersteering than you will in FWD. And I drive RWD all the time. And I can always go back to FWD

  • that's why i said 95% of the time... not 100%. for daily driving, as in when you're not racing, fwd is really annoying.. the sheer amount of steering it requires.

  • Well I drive RWD and FWD all the time.

Steering while daily driving doesn't seem much different. Until it's time to make a turning circle. But for daily driving FWD will be the better economy and safer/cheaper.

  • It's not just an extra 40bhp - it's a rally/racing car. You can't just add 40bhp to your Civic and enter a rally or a race. And yes, it's a sequential gearbox - not a dog box.

  • its a dog box, similar to a sequential but more hardcore

  • "triptonic"? LMAO.

    Krypton got it right.

  • for an extra 40 bhp, you have to pay JAS over £30K..mmm imo wt a RIP off

  • Absolutely Awesome!!!

  • What kind of shifter is being use in that civic? Its pretty fast.

  • triptonic

  • its is actually sequential gearbox

  • It's Tiptronic not triptonic, Plus Tiptronic is an Automatic Transmission

  • lol it is tiptonic. no u shift it manually with ur hand and whenever u want.TRIPTONIC ok.

  • Its sequential gearbox... the high pitch sound you hear is the transmission sound

  • lol. this is so funny :DDDDDDDddd

  • Its a specialized sequential gearbox! made just for race use, its not tiptronic.

Tiptronic or whatever is just an automatic transmission using torque converters and electronics and not really a good platform for road racing since it is not reliable. This transmission is very similar to motorcycle transmissions it is NOT a controlable automatic(tip tronic, all paddle shift stuff except ferraris)

  • It's a Sequential manual gearbox (Toyota calls it SMT--T for transmission), which is more efficient for racing than traditional manual transmission. It is using a lever since in some cases paddle shifters are not allowed.
