  • an important story in American history

  • This disappointed me to no end! Rest in peace emmit till :(

  • Let's not forget that those men were found NOT GUILTY. Emmett Till's uncle answered the door because it was the 50s in rural and racist Mississippi; which by the way was the Lynching Capitol of the country. Rent the entire Eyes of the Prize series...perhaps that will answer some questions for you.

  • i wonder why he told the men that the boy was staying with him? or even opened the door? i guess they would have kicked the door in and just took the boy and killed all of them if he did huh?

  • @39tommyboy Yep!

  • If your'e angry after watching this video. Please don't take it out on me, I wasn't even born. The vast majority of white Southerners had nothing to do with this. Most of the racial problems were caused by by white supremists, KKK and fights with "outside agitators (as they were known back then). The average white Joe Six Pack was just sitting at home watching it on TV shaking his head. White people didn't like the violence either. KKK made us look bad.

  • That's why it's important that we have this kind of footage available. To show people, of any race and walk, the capacity of human hatred.

  • whistling at a woman is no reason for murder.i know this was a different time and place but it is so trivial

  • @kathryn8169 This is NOT a different place although it maybe a different tinme

  • I live in the same area in which this unfortunate incident happened. Mamie Till Mobley outlived both of those horrible men who brutally killed her son.

  • Man! My heart goes out to Emmett and his family. I have a son and any tradgedy like this ever happen to him which I pray won't will break my heart in pieces and it will take the help and love of God to make it thru.

  • 14yrs old into the hands of people that would undoubtedly harm Emmet Till.

  • i hate to say this but his mother should have never sent him to the south.in 2010 i would not send my children to the south

  • @hyphiegirl12 Then the Civil rights movement wouldnt have been as astrong as it did

  • so nasty man makes me angry

  • It's very touching watching Mose Wright recount his version of events. He's obviously unused to speaking in public, and probably doesn't like reliving what happened. But he figures it needs doing, so he's doing it.

  • murder part of the american way

  • Dang, I would have rather them curse him out or beat him up for saying what he did instead of killing and lynching him!!!It isn't like I wanted them to beat or curse at him.

  • Fucked up racists. They disgust me, those racist people.

  • Don't worry they will have their day and be bought to justice.

  • The two men that murdered Til, are both dead.

  • You can't even imagine how angry this video made me today.

Such ignorant white people in the early days, man. FUCK.
