But, for me, this cut scene is an exception : this is the only one I've prefered on PSP. I found the PSP version much more emotionnal, and more intense. But this one is still good of course !
Well, this scene wasn't even IN the PSP version, so I assume you mean the cutscene of the aftermath, no? In which case, I still prefer the PS1 version, by leaps and bounds. Even though it wasn't a full anime FMV, the game sprites were remarkably well-animated, so that didn't bother me... and I much preferred White Knight slapping Pietro, as it didn't really make sense for Narcia to do it. It seems really out of character for her to EVER slap Pietro, under ANY circumstances, I'd say.
Yeah, of course I talked about the aftermath cut scene :)
But I agree White Knight has a better role slapping Pietro than Narcia, but to me Narcia's personnality isn't discredited with that slap. To me she's the best character to convince Pietro to go on, even better than the White Knight ! But yeah I agree, it is a bit too much, with Pietro's scratch and all, but I didn't say the PSP one was perfect ;)
And, like I said, I liked also the PS version (I talk about the non-FMV cutscene), so np =)
I agree that Narcia WOULD be a better choice to convince Pietro to go on... but again, I just don't think it fits with her personality at all, so it lacks plausibility for me. With White Knight, I thought it seemed not only in character, but also pretty awesomely hilarious - especially when he got upset at how hard he hit, and insisted Pietro hit him back. (: It did a nice job of lightening the mood after an emotionally exhausting scene, but without robbing it of its impact.
I dunno what to think now, maybe the impact of the PSP version is due to the fact that this were my first contact with the game, and so with this scene... ^^
Well, it's all just opinion, anyway. (: But I do think the version of something you encounter first is always the one you remember best, so I'm betting that does have a lot to do with it.
BTW, I uploaded four more FMVs, including a couple from Popolo1. Check 'em out, if you haven't seen them before - I particularly like the revival of the Ice Demon FMV from Popolo1, which has an extra scene in it that isn't present in the PSP game at all (Dana/Danu's soldiers attacking the Ice Demon), which adds a LOT more emotional intensity to the scene. Read my comments on the video for more info on that. (:
love it
