Awesome! Can I have the settings? I bought the minimoog V and I'm very disappointed. All the presets are pretty much unusable for music. It should come with a list on the settings used in great songs of the past. No one does that.
Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I've left Open Labs and started a new company called Music Computing. Check out the new gear at Music Computing or click the link below for videos. - Thanks, Victor Wong

When you play with Arturia (on the computer )...... we can import and record sounds from Arturia's M3 in the sequencer ... when we compose a song with the sequence mode if ..... yes .... how to configure?
Hello guy ...one question please ....when you play with Arturia .....it's possible to record in sequence mode with sound ? if it's yes what the connection ?....i've got Korg m50 ...it's the same ....thanks to France
i have a question.... what sound do you use (or wath sounds do you mix) for the first and the "solo" parts?.... I'm italian so you probably say that in the video but i don't understand very well the pronunciation
@matthewlittlehouse9 Hi, They are sounds that I programmed myself on the M3. a Mellotron, synth strings and farfisa organ sounds blended together with effects: Rotating speaker, ensemble, and reverb... the solo part on this one was made a sound I programmed on the MinimoogV....
Love it, great sounds. I know almost nothing about workstations, what are the advatages of using them over soft synths and samplers in a DAW? Again, I hardly know anything at all, so maybe i'm missing the big picture.
Hi dcdossett65: Soft synths are pretty weak by themselves for the most part (except for Omnisphere), and sound better when mixed with real Synths.
I do not really use most of the"worstation" functions (integrated sequencer / Karma functions ) for the most part. I just love the programming capabilites and overall sound quality of the M3.
@module19 hallo can you help me please . xs or m3 or kurzweil k2600x ? its for studio . i make a world music and i use a lot of real samples instrument. thanx
BTW - re: audio, I have corresponded with keybdwizrd regarding his stellar sound quality and he uses a canopus device to feed vid and audio to iMovie on a Mac and has good results. If you are on a PC it probably won't be the way to go.
I really appreciate your explanation of the setup. I have Arturia Analog Factory and it is adequate on some leads. Pretty good CS80 stuff there. Do you remember the deep stringy patch on the M3....very cool sound. I would like to find in on my M3. I also appreciate your clean environment...I am almost strangled in cords.
The string patch I used on this is a custom Combi I created. Its basicaly 3 of the factory analog string sounds from the m3 that are pitched up 1-2 octaves and the key range is limited to the left side of the keyboard. I also added reverb, chorus and slow Leslie rotating speaker effect (just like PFs Richard Wright). If you like send me a private message and I can send you the patch details...
How's the latency triggering the computer from M3? Do you ever experience any glitches or hiccups with it? Can you recommend audio/midi interface for lowest latency when using softsynths on PC?
New to all the 'virtual' stuff myself.. I've got several analogs too. Had 'em around for ages. Bought for pennies back in the days of DX-7 when they were "out of style." : ) Learned synths the old school way -to play 'em! But would like to experiment with the computer end it seems fun..
Hi, On this video I am using a Creative XFI in ASIO mode on a dual core Pentium CPU, which is very cheap, but works well. But it does have a a little latency on complex patches. I also use the ASIO Audio interface in my Access virus Ti sometimes which really performs well for softsynths and recording but costs ten times what the Creative Xfi does. If you want a good all around inexpensive interface check out the Roland Edirol or Presonus ones, they are a good value for their perfomance/cost
me too , Virtual PC synths get on my nerves. I do also have the Real MiniMoog Voyager, and many vintage synths, there just not in the video. I was just trying to show how you can combine external PC sounds with internal sounds in one Korg M3 Combi Patch, a nice feature.
Thanks! I was just trying to show how you can combine soft synths on the PC with combination patches on the M3. Next time I will post a perfomance of the whole song with better audio also. ;)

Hi,
For world music, I would go with the K2600.
