I had the priviledge of going up and meeting Cloud's herd personally, and I am so very glad I got to see the wild horses before the government destroys this symbol of the Historic West. There is certainly something special about these beautiful animals and it sickens me to see them treated like vermin.

There are only a couple of thousand wolves and he plans on cutting the population in half. No species has even been delisted at such a low population level. Not ever. Where this man gets information, I don't know. Right now, it seems he only cares about ranchers and hunters... Not wildlife.

Today Cloud and his herd were captured and removed from their so called protected lands. Please continue on in this fight to keep America's wildlife protected. When you remove the older horses you remove the knowledge they pass on to the younger horses.  For what purpose would you remove older wild horses? They won't be put up for adoption, why not let them finish out their lives in the wild? What a concept, a wild horse born and dying in the wild. The Act requires the BLM to answer to Congress. There is no overpopulation of wild horses. There are 6 million domestic livestock grazing our public lands, subsidized $500 million annually by taxpayers.

Poor cloud!!! He looks old and wore out anyway. It's funny you think you are saving something. Have you ever seen a area over populated with horses? Horses slowly dying off, starving till they die. I think they should open the slaughter houses and utilize the "so called wild horse" which actually doesn't exist if you do your homework. Instead of making the taxpayer pay 1-2 dollars per day, per head until they die at a sanctuary.

Evanitan-what you state as commonsense facts are wrong. The horses grazing serves a purpose in the ecosystem. They carry seeds, and keep brush down. maintain the grassland. Or did you think it was guys with super big lawnmowers. The land given to mustangs by teh will of the people has been stolen and given to rich hobby ranchers to run cattle-thus creating the overpopulation problem. Give them back their land -the land that schoolchildren in 50's and 6o's fought for them to have.

A week ago, a wonderful investigation was concluded with the rescue of 450 dogs from a multi state dog fighting ring. Many people were arrested, money & drugs & weapons seized. I was thrilled. All the time, energy & money spent by many agencies to pull this off.

So why are the precious resources of the remaining mustangs not fought for by the government agencies? Why aren't dogs and horses on equal levels? These special bands of mustangs will go become extinct if nothing is done!
